Apple always delivers By the date they give you. It may be earlier but never later. AT&T is the worst. I stopped ordering through them years ago. I've never done Best Buy.

Don't cancel until you actually manage to get the phone
Same here. Unless something unexpected happens we'll get our phones Fri. I've ordered many Apple devices in the past and never had a problem with getting them at launch.
Go to the UPS tracking page, click track by reference number, enter your Apple order number, but remove the last two digits. Don't put in your zip or anything, just the order number.

Process doesn't say anything about shipping.

Delivers Sep 16th means delivers to you by the 16th so yes you should get it by the 16th.
I pre-ordered as fast as I could on the 9th....at 12:15am. I have a delivery date of 10/4-10/10. I used the IUP (new loan).
Am I able to try to find an in store reservation in the meantime to try to get it sooner? And cancel my order? Or would they have to start the whole IUP all over again? Like run my credit etc...

How many people who ordered at 7am on the 9th, gotten their date changed to launch day? I've seen one so far way way back in the thread.
omg, why are people with Sep 16 dates freaking out that their order is still processing. If it says "delivers by Sep 16..." it WILL deliver by Sep 16.
Last year with the 6S it was two weeks later when they released the SIM free unlocked version.

My Matte Black 128gb 7+ is scheduled for delivery on Friday 16th. I'm with Verizon and a first time user of the Apple Upgrade program. I'm seeing people willing to pay beaucoup bucks for one of these to get overnighted to them, on Ebay. I'm thinking of capitalizing on this demand to fund a fancier apple watch. My question is: if I were to overnight it to a buyer, how would they make the phone work with their Verizon plan? Would the device automatically be activated with my verizon account/number?

Your phone can literally be "processing" up until the day before launch. But rest assured that it will deliver on the date Apple gave you.
You will get it on the 16th, I've preordered for several years and sometimes I didn't get a shipping notification until the day before, but I've always gotten them on launch day if it said so on the website.
Thank you Apple for that. I think Best Buy was worse than Att. I had a delivery date for att but found one in my area, the guy held the last one and I cancelled and got it day after launch. Didn't get my color but I case it anyway.
I have seen the drop ship within two days in previous releases.
These early ones will get held up at the hubs and pushed out Wednesday - Thursday.
If you have a Sept 16th date, you should be fine.
It will eventually change to preparing for shipment and then shipped. It's nice to see the process moving along, but if it says delivers 9/16 that's when we'll get it regardless of what it is saying now.
Never done Sprint. Live in an area with bad reception. Maybe go to the sprint forum?? I did that with att last time and learned a lot. Many people preordered and then found phones at the stores and cancelled preorders.
anyone with a 10/4-10/10 date seeing anything change with their order? my current phone has touch disease so I'm desperate for any sort of progress towards an earlier delivery date
