For confirmation: Is the Verizon model purchased through Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program carrier unlocked? i.e., If I ordered that phone (if I use my friend's Verizon info), I can pop my t-mobile SIM in it and it'll work?

from my understanding yes, you should be able to

I was going to go the same route as you, I have tmobile as well, but I said screw it, and got the tmobile version instead

Sorry but some of us who did all the right things still got screwed. It was in fact luck. It's not something you can take credit for.

Exactly! I went to sleep around 10pm central and set my alarm for 1:55am. I woke up in plenty of time and began refreshing the store app on my phone at 2am. I wasn't able to get it to come up until sometime between 2:10 and 2:15. It kept showing the same placeholder message. Once I finally got in, it kept getting hung up when trying to contact AT&T. I retried over and over for about 5 minutes.

I then hopped on my PC and was able to get in. On my PC, I was able to get past the step to verify my carrier. It was close to 2:30am central by the time my order was completed. My confirmation e-mail came in at 2:37am. Luckily, it allowed me to choose pick up in store with a date of 9/16 and I was able to choose 11:00 to 11:30 which was my first choice for time. I noticed the next day that I received an e-mail at 5:24am letting me know that my iPhone had been reserved and that I needed to complete my order within 24 hours. This was from the order I tried to place using the app since it wasn't able to reach my carrier. That phone became unreserved Saturday afternoon.

I bet many people having issues tried ordering from multiple devices. This probably tied up quite a few additional phones. Hopefully what happened is that when these reservations were released they went to the people who barely missed getting a date of 9/16. This could be one factor causing dates to get pushed up.

But yeah, bottom line is that being able to actually access the store within the first few minutes was most definitely luck. I'm pretty sure that nobody's refreshing skills are any better than anyone else's. Good luck everyone!

Still preparing for shipment for me - 7 Plus/128 GB/Black. UPS reference search yields nothing as well. Still on for a 9/16 delivery apparently, but I can't help but wonder if my case is slowing things down even though they're separate shipments.

Sold my 6s Plus faster than expected, I'm rocking an iPhone 5 now until my 7 Plus arrives, so my impatience for delivery is even higher now. :p

Seems like apple has been shipping preorders randomnly. I purchased a matte black iphone 7 plus 256gb for att using att next upgrade on Apple at 3:15AM eastern time which is the time I was finally able to enter the site after refreshing a million times and received a confirmation email at 3:17am eastern time and then received an install agreement email at 5:27AM eastern time but have zero movement on my order as of today. Order is still in processing and although I had a delivery estimate for friday when I originally placed the order I was told in my confirmation email I have a delivery date of 9/27-9/29. Also my order number is W47 so I'm assuming those numbers have nothing to do with shipping they are useless. Guess I'll be waiting until 9/27-9/29 for my 7 plus. Maybe Apple will surprise us all that placed orders as soon as we could and get these moving as soon as possible before Friday. Anyone else order this model around same time and see any movement?

I was in the first shipment, then I applied for the barclays card, then went to checkout screen and was pushed to Oct, that doesn't seem right IMO

your phone number only works if you had to put your carrier's info in...correct?

Ordered Black 7+ 128gb AT&T at 2:07 CST with delivery Sept. 16 outright. Stalking the flight to Alaska right now with my UPS account...

What are the odds the phone slips through and gets here early? I know I'm one of the lucky ones with a launch day delivery, but it seems such a waste to have it just sit there right? lol.

Yeah, it's frustrating when you know that it's sitting in the hub near your house, but they won't let you have it until launch day. :) A few slip through early each year, but it's rare.

Mine is for the 16th, but I don't see why anger is directed at those that have the 16th delivery date. Sorry to all those that have a later date, but I really didn't have a single thing to do with that. I sincerely hope you all get yours sooner than anticipated. I'm sure we are all just wanting our phones asap, but to start be rude to people who received a 16th delivery date? That makes zero sense. o_O

Ordered two phones, one for me and one for the wife

ATT Iphone 7 Rose gold 128, confirmation email 3:16 EST am, delivers 3/16

ATT Iphone 7 Plus JB 128, confirmation email 3:09 am EST Delivers 9/26 - 10/3

Had issues with app and website, managed to get mine ordered by 3:08 EST and wife's by 3:12 am EST. Rose gold is a preparing for shipment but not trackable yet.

I'm not angry towards others at all; I'm simply confused and salty why my order didn't have a much sooner ETA than 10/4-10/14.

Plus it's fun watching the madness unfold in this thread every year.
I didn't mean you directly. Just some serious saltiness going on with 16th delivery people. Good grief, I didn't pick the date, or cut in line. LOL
