You'll have about 24 hours to call and get it fixed. I have got the email of an issue and had to hold for a few hours to get it resolved. Discover would always give me issues on the charge, I also precalled Discover and told them of the charge and that I authorized it. Seemed a large charge on a card you didn't use but for every 2 years caused an issue.

I thought I read somewhere that if your payment doesn't go through, Apple gives you an opportunity to use a different card or fix the current one you're using. Ask Apple support.
 
Has there been any movement on orders that were placed a few hours after pre-ordering opened up? Or is it just those who ordered at midnight?

That is correct. They send you an email which has a link to update your payment or a number to call (I chose to call). As long as it is fixed, you won't lose your place in line.

I put my serial # in My UPS under the tracking box. That comes up as a fail, then enter the serial # in Track by Reference box that comes up on left. Once in you can get the tracking # and use that to bring up your tracking info in future.
 
Order placed at 3:07 AM EST on Apple Store App, iPhone 7 128GB Jet Black, iPhone 7 256GB Matte Black, Both preparing for shipment, but just checked ups with reference # and the JB left anchorage yesterday and the matte black is in the kentucky Hub. Is it friday yet?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
 
Just called UPS and placed a hold on mine so I can pick them up @ 9 a.m. on Friday vs waiting all day. Still not seeing the tracking updated with the hold information but hopefully it will refresh soon. Both phones are just sitting in Kentucky

I've attended several launches and no, there are NO lines anywhere but outside the store in the mall on launch day. So yes, I DO know about mine.

So logic will say those who are getting theirs in the September 27-29 batch will see it go from Processing to Preparing (along with the charge) on or around September 22-24.

Which then means your batch will likely see it go from Processing to Preparing (along with the charge) on or around October 1-6.

It's not odd. It's likely not going to come sooner. It's not unusual. October is nearly 3 weeks from now, and will come before you should even expect to see ANYTHING happen on Apple.com with your order.. So cool down and wait.

Thanks you guys for all the advice if any card issues would occur. That's what really worries me, besides the delivery date. Let's hope October folks get bumped on Friday or so.

It's flight UPS63. You can just google UPS63 and it shows you the real time stats. Or this link works too:

Which one did you get? I ordered the 7 Plus 128GB.

On a side note about emails from Apple, I had called them to try to change the shipping address on my pre-order. They said they'd try. Last night I noticed the charge/hold had disappeared from my debit card. This morning I get an email from Apple, subject line, "We're sorry, we could not complete your request." :( My heart sank, my pre-order was canceled!? Then I read on and it was the address change request they couldn't process. I checked my account and the charge had been completed so I could breathe easy again. :cool: Still on track for Friday delivery.

I've only seen one that moved, and the user has since posted that the date changed back.

your issue was the color. Had you ordered a black one you would have been fine. I changed at the last second because 2 minutes in to pre orders it was already oct del dat

Same here. Delivery on 9/16 but still showing "preparing for shipping". The order status on Apple website isn't all that accurate...

I was able to locate my shipment on UPS website. Register for a UPS My Choice account with your current address if you haven't already. Then do track by reference and put in your phone number or order number, and ZIP code and stuff. Then your shipment should come up!
