The closest regional UPS hub to NOVA is Philadelphia (KPHL). I would think they would send packages there, then possibly truck them from there.

It's true, and people steal stuff all the time in broad daylight with lots of people around. A couple of guys did a smash & grab on my vehicle in a Barnes & Noble parking lot during the day and took my car stereo. Even in busy areas, bystanders aren't paying attention to someone who casually walks up to a porch and walks off with a small package under their arm.
Also, even though you've pre signed, the drivers have discretion as to whether to leave the package or leave a door tag saying that you need to pick it up, or they'll try to deliver tomorrow. I was at home for an iPad launch delivery, and I left my pre signed form on the front door in case I didn't hear the doorbell, was in the restroom, etc. I saw the FedEx driver get out with my package, see my signature form on the front door, turn around and go back to his truck with my package. I went out to him, and he said that he wouldn't leave iPads on a porch even with a signature because the risk of theft was too great, and he was getting ready to leave a door tag when I came out to meet him. Whew! So glad that I caught him and didn't spend the day at home for nothing.
All of them have to go through Louisville, KY first so it doesn't matter who's closer to Anchorage.
Nothing. Expecting to see Preparing for Shipping any day now. Said 6-8 business days. It's only been 6 calendar days, but I hope they can ship earlier.
I believe that the package must go to Louisville to clear customs at the Worlport

it's not their fault..it's actually no one's fault lol they shipped them on time and everything..it's just unpredictable weather to blame
I just looked at scheduled departures from Louisville, and I didn't see any UPS flights to Dulles scheduled. Thought that's what they usually do, but I guess I'm misremembering.
UPS2196 to Philadelphia is scheduled to depart Louisville at 5:20 today, so hopefully it's on that if that's the route it's supposed to take!
