Another year I had the exact same situation (backup's iOS version newer than the newly delivered phone's iOS version), and iTunes actually refused to restore the phone from the backup until I updated the phone. I'm not sure what is different this year, but iTunes dove right into the restore before I even noticed that the phone was on 10.0. And then it asked me if I wanted to upgrade the iOS WHILE my phone was still syncing Apps/Music. I told it to wait until that was done, and then I started the update manually.

FWIW, the UPS guy told me today while I was picking up my iPhone that UPS had a massive conference call a day or two ago... he said they were told Monday is going to be a total s--- show because "they screwed up in China."

Apparently some phones were inadvertently left in China or put on the wrong planes. Ouch.

Interesting - my card was charged for shipping on Monday, then for the rest yesterday and it's been stuck in "Preparing for shipping" ever since. Was hoping that the date would get pushed up...guess I'll have to wait and see.

Glad to see you finally got your phone. Mine is still out for delivery. I think the new vibrations are expected. Also, the new Home button doesn't move at all. The Taptic engine vibrates when you press it instead.

My girl's phone ended up being delivered first. My matte black wasn't there. I guess they're making 2 trips to the same address

Does it vibrate when you toggle off some setting on my old 6s plus didn't do this

Mine is saying this on the tracking. Wonder if it will actually make it to Montana. I didn't see anymore flights into Billings on FlightAware...

Update: UPS has been here twice and I have held the box twice, but UPS still says it can't deliver the box because there is an intercept on the box to put a corrected shipping label on it. UPS told me this morning they cancelled, told me this afternoon they can't cancel and to call Apple, Apple hung up on me. UPS driver just came back for a third time and said he can't attempt again. My wife is going to be pissed...

So I twitted to UPS and was told to email them. This is the email reply I received from ups in regards to the delayed Saturday delivery. Guess I'll just have to wait and hope it would show up tomorrow. I cancelled the will call pick up also since the cc here doesn't open on Saturday.
