It has absolutely not been a first come first served basis the entire time for this launch

OK, I remember the Apple Watch launch taking weeks to get through the first few minutes of orders and once things started moving delivery windows started getting changed in bunches.

Nope. Only one flight out of Incheon. Looks like my phone missed todays flight and/or got bumped. Pretty disappointing given the "On Time for 9/20" that I was getting yesterday. I think UPS may be paying a price for overly optimistic projections and are just keeping mum on delivery until phones are out of Asia.

Not a great job by them. Hadn't had this issue on my last three opening day phone orders.

My phone arrived around 7:00 in Incheon, but UPS still says my phone is being delivered today! Ugh! This exact thing happened to my Apple Watch. But better than my original delivery date from apple of 27-29. Guess I should look on the bright side.

I mean it's been close this time but totally random

Unfortunately, to date, haven't seen any phones take that route. Maybe because of the current troubles they will rethink that.

Also haven't seen any phones take the late KoreanAir flight from ZhengZhou to Incheon...only the China Southern afternoon one.

Seems like there is 1 or 2 flights a day out of Shenzhen to Anchorage, and they list them on UPS' apple iPhone 7 flight aware site. You are right, I haven't seen many take that route though. I am not sure how they get out of Zhengzhou though, whether its by air or by vehicle.

I saw someone mentioned that they (UPS or Apple, not sure which one), use China Southern to get out of Zhengzhou I think to Seoul. There is an 8:00AM China Standard Time flight from Zhengzhou to Shenzhen and a 10:50 AM China Standard Time flight from Zhengzhou to Seoul/Incheon. If they use China Southern, then hopefully our phones will get on one of them.

Hey guys. I was in the Oct. 4 - Oct. 10 group. I got the JB 7+ 128 Gb (Verizon). My order has now shipped with an estimated delivery date of 09/22. I'm pretty stoked! At first the delivery date was 09/26, then it changed to 09/22.

I was a little late to the preorder game (9/12), so I'm still processing with an estimated delivery 10/6-10/12 (256gb 7+ Gold). Has anyone seen any movement from preordering this late? I know I need to wait my turn but with everyone receiving TNs I wish they would at least take my money and switch me to preparing for shipment!

So, what I gather from all the recent comments, we are out of luck for today. No need checking my computer every hour or so to see what is going on, since there are no more flights out of Korea for Anchorage today. Sounds like we will have to wait til tomorrow now and hope our iphones will make the flight to Anchorage. Any idea when the next flight would be?

Not quite fair. A bunch of us were delayed for a day out of Zhengzhou so missed UPS original "On Time for 9/20" projection. This remained UPS projection all through the day yesterday.

OK. The phones didn't make it on the passenger plane out of Zhengzhou to Korea yesterday but today they did. Yay!

Except once they got to Incheon, a UPS hub, *some* of the phones didn't get on the outbound flight (or maybe their pallet didn't get scanned) so now those of us who have adjusted our work schedule to meet the phone now don't know if we are looking at delivery tomorrow or Thursday (or later?).

This is not a cost free delay given people's schedules and the need for a signature. It is not the delay, per se, as weather, mechanical issue, etc. might cause that but the expectation UPS created, the plans made based on that expectation, UPS's failure to deliver due to reasons that are unclear and now a total lack of forward clarity. And this is not just for 1 or 2 phones but for a bunch of customers.

JEHRLER, EXACTLY! well said

I thought flights usually update later in the night with departures around midnight. Usually 72 hours after departure if all goes as planned.

To date, the only route UPS is using out of ZhengZhou is CSN 6009 to Incheon. It departs in the afternoon China Time/4:40 AM Eastern Standard. So if you wake up and the tracker still says ZhengZhou you have to wait until the next day.

i'm still holding out hope for a flight out of incheon

hubby's phone was scanned as departure from korea at 12:01am 9/20

it's now on a truck in SoCal heading out for delivery on 9/20

theoretically, my (our) phone(s) could be on a plane at 12:01am 9/21 and then delivered that same day because of the time zone shift

i only hope there is a flight going out at midnight like what happened to hubby's phone

Now to see if the current packages make it to Louisville from Anchorage by tonight. If that happens, there might be a tiny tiny chance that they deliver tomorrow, but most certainly by Thursday for anyone whose iPhone departed today.

Well said, jehrler. Well said. It is not necessarily the delay but the high expectations that UPS gave us, plus the need to sign for the phone when it arrives. I set up my schedule to be home to sign for it and with them changing the day of arrival, I am losing time on other things I need to attend to. If UPS would have just said our phones would be here on Thursday like Apple said, I would have no problem with that. But saying they will arrive on Tuesday, then delay after delay, missed flights, etc. has set everything back so now I have no clue what to plan on. Very frustrating.

My ETA was 10/4-10/10. It's in the plane now and will be delivered tomorrow. If something happens and it's delayed a day - i'm not going to go crying and stomping my feet with UPS causing them grief. For something that's coming 2-3 weeks early.

I hope you get it soon, my only concern for everyone now is making iPhone faster than usual would not have make
There are a couple of flights that are leaving out of Zhengzhou to Shenzhen in the next several hours, but none to Seoul until late night tonight eastern time. Hopefully our phones get on one of those planes to get out of Zhengzhou.

Little relieved to hear that thanks, i should have got it today but rescheduled

Yeah, Foxconn has been moving majority of capacity out of Shenzen to ZZ because it is cheaper for them to produce inland. So most are seeing ZZ to Incheon. UPS has a dedicated flight to get to Incheon from ZZ as of a few years ago according to this article: https://www.ups.com/content/cn/en/about/news/20121017_flight.html I am wondering if we cannot track this flight though, as they say it's a dedicated 767 that flies M-Friday. However this article was from 2012.

I now have a Departure Scan from Korea at 2:49am local time. On it's way To Anchorage!

I'm thinking it likely won't be delivered by the original date of tomorrow. It still has to go from AK to Louisville, to AZ. Probably Thursday 9/22.

Yes saddude you are right ups should not have given us false hope. Apparently apple had better idea when the iphone will be delivered they gave 9/22 date and ups 9/20. Most likely it will deliver on 9/22.
