I'm in the same situation. 128GB 7+ Matte Black Verizon from the Apple Store. Dates were 10/4-10/10. I was charged and it went into preparing for shipment early Saturday and has been sitting there ever since. WTF? I hope it changes tomorrow. How can it possibly take 5 days to go from preparing to actually shipped? Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to get it early, but this preparing for shipment might be worse than processing...

They ship more then on at a time. So if yours was first in the lot it will sit there until the lot is full and then off it goes. The containers they fill with packages are pretty large and hold quite a lot of phone. Just a guess of what some people may be experiencing. 5 days does seem like a long time though. Good luck. I'm never going to get mine.

What exactly is the mess, aside from the Upgrade Programme problems? Any perceived shipping problems likely fall to UPS (who, it seems, are incompetent even on their best of days) and product shortages are par for the course, certainly with Apple.

I genuinely want to know what the issue is, though. Perhaps I'm just missing it.

I stayed in PFS for 5 days also and finally got shipment notification tonight. Hang in there. I know it's extremely discouraging but hang in there

I was just thinking, and came up with this theory/explanation. Might sound preposterous, but for what its worth let me elaborate.

If our phones did leave Korea today, but the departure scan was not updated in our tracking page (presumably due to some error), then the possibility of our tracking showing an arrival scan at Anchorage is highly unlikely.

Reason - UPS 99 was the flight that took off from Incheon and reached Anchorage earlier today. Right now I checked the flights heading to Louisville, and guess what UPS 99 is one amongst them. So, if our phones were in UPS99, when it landed at Anchorage, why would the ground staff take the pains of removing the cargo, scan it and load it back into the same flight ?

This might possibly explain why a lot of them had no updates and directly saw an Arrival scan at Louisville.

Again, there is a good chance that UPS operates multiple aircrafts under the same flight number. And I have no knowledge about that. Maybe someone knowledgable can pitch in.

This is probably a flawed theory stemming from a frustrated mind, seeking explanation for the delay.

Thank me later, if the phones do reach Louisville. :p

Did you receive it yet? 楽しみなぁ!
It just got in, I am still setting it up. Doesn't seem to have any issues (no scratches, no hissgate). I put it into a case immediately and also put a tempered display protector on it.
And yeah, the black iPhone is really black, just like the black leather case I put it into.

I reckon that they're moving lots of cargo any day. Once you add to that a huge number of parcels from only a few locations, moving them across the Pacific (in most cases), into distribution centres (before or after passing some cursory customs inspection) before breaking them out farther into individual deliveries, there are so many places that errors can occur, compounded by the volume. Their software systems are also under pressure, adding even more complexities.

This is not to excuse any misdeeds done on the part of UPS or any other delivery service, but it's important to understand that there are a lot of moving parts here. Rather than using the forum as a way to fan the flames of fervour (guessing flight numbers and tracking them as they move over the sea), try to find some peace and enjoy the wait with your online friends.

Nice! I'm looking forward to seeing the black in person next time I make it to Osaka. Which case did you choose?

did you say earlier that they usually scan them as arrived within 20 minutes or so? i'm still working for a little while tonight and hoping to see the arrival scan before going to bed

Yes, they average around 15 minutes.

If my data collection was correct, they range from 6 minutes up to 30 minutes.
Out of all the screenshots posted on this thread, it seems that averaging 15 minutes is about the time they scan.

HOWEVER, Louisville is a customs airport - so it may take longer seeing that it goes through customs.

I have ordered 2 iPhones, both on the IUP (new).

First one is currently is stuck in the China/Korea loop and hopefully will be here Friday. When I ordered/signed up for the program I put in my line.

Just a short time ago, I was able to reserve an iPhone for my husband to pick-up in store!! Of course I put in the info for his line (getting him also on the IUP). When I pick up the phone, can I use that one as mine and he can take the one arriving the next day (or whenever the he** it plans to arrive)?!!!! Does it matter who puts their SIM card in each of them?

As far as I know, iPhones purchased thro IUP are unlocked, irrespective of carrier. Try to insert and activate it. Alternatively, you could ask your husband to activate the phone, and hand it over to you for use!

I had the same thought, once. But the store is far and I decided I really preferred the jet black.

Do you want the black because it's available now or do you want it for the colour? You could always reserve it, go to the store and cancel if you decided you didn't like it much, right?
