I had the same thought, once. But the store is far and I decided I really preferred the jet black.

Do you want the black because it's available now or do you want it for the colour? You could always reserve it, go to the store and cancel if you decided you didn't like it much, right?
I prefer the jet black. But my est 18-31 October. Idk if it's coming any sooner

As far as I know, iPhones purchased thro IUP are unlocked, irrespective of carrier. Try to insert and activate it. Alternatively, you could ask your husband to activate the phone, and hand it over to you for use!

Both are on the same account and carrier :) One I just ordered on my line and the other is on his. So does it really matter who's SIM is in each one?? Common sense would say it doesn't matter...just making sure!

Then you must ask yourself if you can wait;)

I'd not be surprised to see that date move up a bit once the initial rush is over, but I wouldn't get my hopes up, just in case.

Just don't make a decision you may come to regret later, especially if you don't truly NEED the phone right now.

I have ordered my phone the same way. Only difference, I ve paid in full. Only when it comes will I be able to confirm. But there is a chance the carrier might tie the activation process to the indvidual's sim.

For everyone who is still processing when did you pre-order?

I did on 9/11. Expected delivery on Oct 5-11
I preordered my jet black iPhone 7+ 128gb from my Apple app at the very 1st minuet you could order at midnight on September 9th & mine is supposed to ship between October 18-31!!! I'm so frustrated, I stayed up forever really excited about getting my new iPhone 7+ on launch day. Needless to say I am soooo ticked off!!!

In that case, he'd just have to activate and then hand it to me. They are unlocked. Hmmm guess I will find out for sure tomorrow. My hopes are really it doesn't matter who's SIM goes into each phone...I basically have 2 phones through Citizens bank...they don't care who uses them, lol! As long as I pay!

Yeah. Try your luck. Else do the alternative! Either ways, you get to use the 7 ! Congrats ! :D

For those who will not be home to sign for the delivery, you can pre sign.

Apple chooses which carrier will deliver your shipment, and some of our shipments require a signature. Your Shipment Notification email will tell you whether a signature is required. The carrier may make subsequent delivery attempts before returning the shipment to Apple. Once your order has prepared for shipment or has shipped, we are unable to change the shipping address.

If you are unavailable to provide a signature, Apple offers three easy options for you to receive your package.

Option 1: Pre-sign with Apple
There are two ways you can Pre-sign for your shipment:

  1. Click the Pre-sign for this shipment link in your Shipment Notification email
  2. Visit online Order Status and click the "Pre-sign for this shipment" link
Complete and print the Shipment Release Authorization form. Leave the form on your door for the carrier, prior to 8:00 a.m. on the day of expected delivery.

You can specify a preferred delivery location (e.g., front door, back door, immediate neighbor, or building manager). If you provide an address other than the one specified on the package, someone must sign for the package.

If you'd like to pre-sign for more than one shipment, simply print, sign, and leave a Shipment Release Authorization for each package.

For safety and security reasons, all deliveries are subject to the driver's discretion. If you are unable to access the Pre-sign Form, call Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 and let us help!

Now, let's see if mine makes the 2:53am or 3:35am from Louisville to Oakland for a truck to SF.
I hope I'm wrong for your sake, but I had the same hope last night for my phone coming to LA with very similar departing times...unfortunately, the import scan doesn't happen until around 3:30, which is too late for getting onto the next leg. Again, I hope I'm wrong about it getting stuck in KY, but you should definitely have it by Friday.
