For those who will not be home to sign for the delivery, you can pre sign.

Apple chooses which carrier will deliver your shipment, and some of our shipments require a signature. Your Shipment Notification email will tell you whether a signature is required. The carrier may make subsequent delivery attempts before returning the shipment to Apple. Once your order has prepared for shipment or has shipped, we are unable to change the shipping address.

If you are unavailable to provide a signature, Apple offers three easy options for you to receive your package.

Option 1: Pre-sign with Apple
There are two ways you can Pre-sign for your shipment:

  1. Click the Pre-sign for this shipment link in your Shipment Notification email
  2. Visit online Order Status and click the "Pre-sign for this shipment" link
Complete and print the Shipment Release Authorization form. Leave the form on your door for the carrier, prior to 8:00 a.m. on the day of expected delivery.

You can specify a preferred delivery location (e.g., front door, back door, immediate neighbor, or building manager). If you provide an address other than the one specified on the package, someone must sign for the package.

If you'd like to pre-sign for more than one shipment, simply print, sign, and leave a Shipment Release Authorization for each package.

For safety and security reasons, all deliveries are subject to the driver's discretion. If you are unable to access the Pre-sign Form, call Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 and let us help!
You are right about driver discretion Ups guy In my area does not want to leave the package even if no signature is required. If package got lost then he would be accountable. Even though my neighborhood is very safe with nice people.

It seems a flight to IL is intentionally being delayed just for the phones that just got to Louisville, hopefully, I will get mine tomorrow.

More than likely you will get it tomorrow, mine after reaching US ups moved it very quickly and delivered it.
[doublepost=1474527911][/doublepost]
My literally did that same exact thing. In zhengzhou now and hasn't moved since. And my date pushed back.
Same story here I thought it won't come but it did so don't worry most likely you guys will get it shortly.

I hope I'm wrong for your sake, but I had the same hope last night for my phone coming to LA with very similar departing times...unfortunately, the import scan doesn't happen until around 3:30, which is too late for getting onto the next leg. Again, I hope I'm wrong about it getting stuck in KY, but you should definitely have it by Friday.

Thanks! I'm crossing my fingers. Went through a pre-order nightmare and been in UPS purgatory for a bit. I wrote Apple about my experience and they've been really nice watching my order and all the issues with UPS. UPS hasn't been any help.

They know nothing...going as far as blaming Apple, when I can see the length of the time scans for my package. I called him out on it saying they shouldn't give me a scheduled date and then never update it. Right now it still says scheduled delivery 9/21 between 9am-1pm. LOL Then later in the chat he said a manager would call within the hour. Of course, no call.

I'm pleased that Apple has listened to my feedback, emailed, and phoned me even if the news wasn't what I wanted. Unlike UPS who has kept me in the dark. Sorry for the rant. :)

Mine (Jet Black 7+) has been in "Preparing for shipment", since Saturday...WTF????!!
[doublepost=1474534257][/doublepost]No change. Charge has shown on credit card as pending since Saturday, too. I have NEVER had this long of an issue before (got caught in the LONG delivery times of the Space Black Apple Watch Gen 1 last April, but, it went processing, then immediately to shipped. Anyone else in this situation--has Apple offered an explanation?

Thanks!

I apologize if this has been posted here before, but am wanting your all's opinions/theories.

So, my iPhone 7+ Black 128GB was set to come in Oct. 4 - Oct. 10.

-Got an email this weekend saying it was coming on September 21st (from UPS) September 23rd (from Apple)
-So then UPS bumped my delivery date back to September 22nd.
-Now I don't even have a date anymore... what the hell happened?

To those who've ordered through online but then picked a phone up via IUP in store. Did you cancel your online order before going to the store or after? If you didn't cancel before were there any issues purchasing the phone at the stor due to the pending order? I've managed to get a reservation at a local store but don't want to cancel online order until I have phone in hand.

My tracking is almost identical to yours (down to the minute once they had their first departure scan) but hasn't updated to leave Korea. I'm hoping it's a delay in the system and that'll be delivered today along with my wife's phone, but right now I'm not so sure.

The flights that I tracked last year have a three flight bundle that will be leaving in about four hours or so. And yes they are all MD11s. These are definitely ones that had phones on them last year. I am hoping they are the same this year. Two are flying from Pudong and one from Icheon all set to land in Anchorage.

Flight numbers UPS81 UPS85 and UPS99

I finally just had some movement on my package in Zhengzhou, departure scan from Zhengzhou about two hours ago... hope it makes it to incheon to make that flight to anchorage.

I was told that I needed to do a new IUP for the store phone and had no problem with this. Was also told that the preauthorization for the loan is good for 30 days. I did not cancel my online order first, it was still showing as Processing with a 10/5 - 10/11 delivery date. The store employees were very nice with me. The new IUP went through without a glitch!

(I need to say that this was a second phone for a gift for my mom. I used my 13 year old son's line. I received my RG 128 7+ on Friday and it was also purchased with a new IUP. Before cancelling the online order I had a total of 3 IUP loans approved under my name!
Took my AT&T Next paid off 6+ To the AT&T store and traded it in for a 7 black 32 for my 17 year old. The gift phone was mailed out to my mom right after and she will receive it on Friday. After the phone was purchased I went to the AT&T store and told them I needed to get the line back to my son's phone; they gave me a new Sim card and I replaced it as soon as I got home.)

After the phone was purchased with a new IUP I then called the Apple # and cancelled the online order; told them why I cancelled (too long of a wait for delivery and found in store) the phone rep was very understanding and apologetic and even sent me a discount coupon for my troubles. I received the Apple cancellation email first and then the Citizens One cancellation email for the online IUP. All in all, other than waiting in line for a long time the experience was ok.

Make sure you check in early enough; there was a long line an hour before my appointment time and even longer after. And also make sure you have all your info with you. Again, it went through without a glitch for me!

Good luck!!

View attachment 656953 Was being delivered on 9-22 then 9-23 now no date

Check my post here: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...-change-thread.1993696/page-196#post-23557337

Same thing here. Even though there's no delivery date, I've got hope that the 23rd may still be possible.

View attachment 656955 Finally progress! Left zhengzhu heading to icheon. Hopefully in anchorage by end of day!

Im on that flight as well (well hope). It's CSN6009. If all goes well, we will also make the UPS99 to Anchorage.

I ordered the same but at 5:45am and mine is November still processing. Weird.

I ordered my 128+ black only 30 minutes after launch and am still processing. It's mind boggling that only a half hour after and I haven't received something I pre-ordered. But it is what it is I guess...

Wow, that a lot of detail! Thanks for taking the time to respond. Glad to hear this shouldn't be an issue. I was planning to get to the store fairly early because I have to get to an appointment not too long after my Apple appointment is supposed to end. Hopefully I'll get served on time or else I might have to walk away and try again another day.

I'm pretty much the same situation you are. But I'm in Japan, the land that Apple apparently forgot, at least when it came to +s. Where are you?

EDIT: I take that back. They did remember Japan, just not my carrier, as it appears that DoCoMo and Softbank have been getting the goods the last couple of days. Maybe they'll remember that' there's another carrier tomorrow.

The great state (/s) of Ohio. But I've seen so many inconsistencies with that too...with people in Ohio getting identical phones or harder to come by versions before me. It's very frustrating! Haha

Edit: good luck to you! And everyone else still!
