I just got a msg on UPS saying my shipment is delayed from Korea due to severe weather. I checked the weather over there and it is clear. I guess UPS can't fly in clear weather. See Progress Detail below. View attachment 657429

Some story on my wife's iPhone 7+. I ordered my just after midnight and got it the morning of Monday the 19th. I did not pay for express shipping. As soon as I ordered my iPhone I ordered the wife's using her Mac. And to make up for being 20 minutes behind me in the incoming orders, I paid the $10 for expedited shipping so it would be here....tomorrow.

Her phone was handed over to UPS on the 19th, sat in China for 2 days and has now sat in Incheon for 2 days. Around an hour ago I finally see on my UPS account that it is delayed for bad weather. So at a minimum I will ask Apple for our $10 back. It is always nice to pay extra for delays.

IF it was severe weather that came in the way of UPS's flights taking off, then how did the other flights make it out of the same damn airport? ******** !

UPS is making matters worse for them by lying and cooking up stories. Are they so dumb that a simple google search is sufficient to show that they lied? Wish this is brought to everyone's attention to ensure they refrain from using the service provided by this shameless company that falsely blames mother nature to cover up for its own mess.

Disgusted with UPS.

I'm in the 801 club with weather delay and my Orders page on the apple site updated. It now says "in transit - weather delay" but it still says estimated delivery date of 9/23 hmmmmm

At least I can take comfort in knowing there is not one 7+ to be had in NC and I don't have to think about whether to buy/return. I hope we're on the flight out of SK tonight, 801ers! Have no expectation of seeing it Saturday, maybe Monday.

Well looks like UPS has 3 flights scheduled for tomorrow morning to fly out of Korea to Anchorage. So hopefully they will get a lot of phones to the US tomorrow!

Same for me in PA. They probably won't have any on stock for at least a month or two yet.

My wife is picking her phone up from ups today but doesn't want to unbox and use it until I receive mine. We have to send our old 6s plus' back as a trade in ( we ordered through the Apple Store app under our att next every year plan) Anyone know how long she can wait before she has to ship her old phone out?

It must be returned within 14 days. I've always assumed that means they must have it back 14 days from the date you received your phone.

It's actually 14 days from the shipped date. If you read the email that Apple sent you when your iPhone shipped. For those of us with a ship date of the 19th you have to return your existing next by October 2nd.

Open the shipping instructions PDF that is attached to the email from Apple

I called UPS last night. They said there was a delay but didn't elaborate. Now, 24 hrs late there's a storm. Something seems odd.
The only good thing they told me is that my 7+ Jet Black is going directly to Kentucky. So, I may still get it if it leaves within the next 10 hours.

This is what they're saying on twitter "Sorry for the delay. Unfortunately, the severe weather can impact anywhere along the path of transportation."
But the phones are still in Korea!!

I do not think there are direct UPS flights between Korea and Louisville, KY. According to Flight Tracker

The plan stops in Alaska to fuel and take a break then goes straight to KY. That's what ups 99s original flight plan was before ******** struck.

I am part of the 8:01 group as well. I have lost it with all the lies I've been told this week by UPS so I wrote their CEO a letter.

Hi Dave,

Just wondering if your company ever plans to deliver my new iPhone [tracking deleted]. See I've watched online as thousands of people whose phones shipped after mine got them yesterday or earlier. Yet mine has made no progress. You did this to me in 2014 as well. Stranded my phone in China for 6 days. It was package [tracking deleted] for proof. Are you sadists, or just completely incompetent?

The telephone rep that I spoke to was a very nice touch. I'm not sure whether he was lying to placate me, or if he really doesn't understand that 14 hour time difference between Louisville and Seoul. Either way, if you can't find yourselves able to deliver my phone as you promised (you promised it would be here 9/21) then I'll just move to Korea and try and use it there. That option seems easier than getting any real answers or explanation from anyone who works in "customer service" for you.

Do you still promote yourselves as the worldwide leader in logistics? You probably shouldn't.

Regards,

Nathan Kafka

The responded about an hour later

Nathan,

Thank you for contacting us. My name is Teri Miller, and I am a Corporate Customer Relations Manager for UPS. Mr. Abney received your email and asked that I contact you to address the concerns listed in your email below. Let me start by saying we appreciate your feedback and regret your unsatisfactory experience with our delivery service.

I am very sorry that your shipment has been delayed. Due to the extremely high volume of packages being shipped from Apple we are experiencing some delays in getting them delivered in the United States.

If you could provide a contact phone number where we may reach you directly I will continue to monitor this shipment until it gets delivered. Feel free to respond to this email, or if you prefer, I may be reached by phone at (404) 828-4900.

Best regards,

Teri Miller

UPS Corporate Customer Relations

The provided no additional help, but feel free to call this number to harass them instead.

Thanks!

Three flights leaving incheon tomorrow morning. I'd say everyone gets their phones Saturday or Monday. Some people are getting Saturday ships from what I heard before. Highly unlikely.

iPhone 7+ JB AT&T preordered at 3:10 AM ET on Sept 9th with original delivery estimate of Oct 18-31. Status updated to PFS on early last Saturday where it has sat since then, though no change in Apple expected delivery time. Everyone seems to be saying around 4-5 days in PFS max. so I'm expecting shipment in the next day or so (?!) However, now I'm wondering if the mess with today's shipments will further delay those that haven't yet been sent out...

Incidentally, the iStockNow website was very useful in finding a 7+ matte black in stock in the Upper West Side store which I picked up this past Tuesday to tide me over until the preorder arrives since my 6 is in life support in terms of battery life. Really hoping the delays don't continue past October 4th when the 14-day return period expires and I'll have to bring the current 7+ back.

I've had a PFS status for six days now - since Sat. Delivery dates still 10/5-11. I don't think I'll see any movement until these UPS delays are caught up.
