I seem the only one of the 801 group who got into a flight today (to Europe).

At least your orders have tracking numbers....my pre order from Apple has dates of 9/27-10/4 and I'm still in processing going on my 13th day. No charges, spoke with an apple rep and said everything looked fine so I guess my delivery dates are really accurate. They told me it would be here on the 27th however if it's coming from China it better start moving. Btw I ordered a jet black sprint 128gb 7+.

I am also an 801 and got the same BS severe weather delay. When people start calling and complaining they just update it with something. I called and complained before and then about an hour later all those "your package is in transit" messages started showing up. Now people have been blasting them all day and we get the "severe weather". Don't they know you can look up the weather anywhere in the world?

I'm in the 8:01 group, too and its driving me nuts.
But, I just wanted to point out a weather delay could be as much related to the time and location where they are landing as where they are taking off.

Not saying that is actually the case, but the weather delay could be if they think there will be bad weather at the time when the plane is scheduled to land in AK.

Of course, its already seen every other possible delay.

I am part of the 801 group to and i too got weather delays. It was expected today yet its still in Korea! so mad at UPS and Apple.
Let me know if something changes.
When do you think you batch will be shipped to the USA?

Yeah, except that FedEx took off 5 minutes after the scheduled departure of UPS and landed without issue. You can easily track all this stuff.

Just checked UPS and my iPhone has been delayed in Korea due to "Severe Weather conditions". This was time stamped as 09/23/16 5:55 AM local Korean time. checked the weather over there and it is clear. Go figure!

These phony scan's, mechanical failures, severe weather (I just got that one as part of the 8:01 incheon crew) seem to be all UPS's trickery to implement Apple's special operating plans that everyone speaks of. I am hoping to see the Out for Delivery tommorow.

Anyone know when stock updates for reserve and collect? is it really 12:01?

or more like 8am?
Yup. Sometimes it takes a couple more minutes to update, but definitely around 12:10AM. Its how i reserved a black iPhone 7+ 128GB for my hubby at grand central. They go fast though so you should be on the site at 12:01AM constantly refreshing the page.

So far I have talked to five people with five different stories. Suggest lots of tweets to @upshelp using hashtag #BROWNOUT in response to UPS's old slogan, what can Brown do for you.

I guess this could be due to hurricane Malakas that hit southern Japan? Don't really know what to think at this point. I guess a few people anxiously waiting for a phone doesn't constitute an official response from UPS.

Thanks Felix,

did you buy it outright or were you part of the upgrade programme? hoping to get a verizon since it is unlocked but will take an ATT, not two bothered about it not being CDMA compatible.

They still charge an upgrade fee even when you pay full price directly through Apple? That seems messed up.

Yeah. It is messed up. It's a contract Apple has with all the carriers. Simply to make them more money. I wouldn't be surprised if they were giving Apple a kickback for doing so.

There is NO way to preorder a phone without using your carrier login credentials, even if you want to buy outright at full price. And thus, they charge all of these orders an upgrade fee

Im in the exact same boat as you are. Ordered 2 iPhone 7+'s T-Mo JB 128GB at 3:11am EST the day pre-orders began and they're STILL processing. Was quoted Oct4-Oct10th delivery. No charges at all. No progress. Nothing. And we aren't the only ones. Everyone else who ordered T-Mo/Sprint JB iPhone 7+'s are still "processing" just like us. And yet tons of people who ordered AT&T/Verizon way after MY order went through are receiving theirs.

I purchased the phone outright. If you don't care about having CDMA compatibility then your chances of reserving a phone are high. Good luck!

Mine is in the same boat. I say boat because at this point our phones seem to be on the proverbial "slow boat from China". UPS needs to put an expediter on this set of phones which has languished for several days in Asia for no apparent reason. It's not like they haven't handled the exact same transaction millions of times. At this point I am not sure why a company whose motto used to be "we heart logistics" can't get a bundle of ostensibly identical items out of Asia. The race to the bottom of the pricing in the shipping business has one loser: us.
I just got a msg on UPS saying my shipment is delayed from Korea due to severe weather. I checked the weather over there and it is clear. I guess UPS can't fly in clear weather. See Progress Detail below.

I am part of the 8:01 group as well. I have lost it with all the lies I've been told this week by UPS so I wrote their CEO a letter.

Hi Dave,

Just wondering if your company ever plans to deliver my new iPhone [tracking deleted]. See I've watched online as thousands of people whose phones shipped after mine got them yesterday or earlier. Yet mine has made no progress. You did this to me in 2014 as well. Stranded my phone in China for 6 days. It was package [tracking deleted] for proof. Are you sadists, or just completely incompetent?

The telephone rep that I spoke to was a very nice touch. I'm not sure whether he was lying to placate me, or if he really doesn't understand that 14 hour time difference between Louisville and Seoul. Either way, if you can't find yourselves able to deliver my phone as you promised (you promised it would be here 9/21) then I'll just move to Korea and try and use it there. That option seems easier than getting any real answers or explanation from anyone who works in "customer service" for you.

Do you still promote yourselves as the worldwide leader in logistics? You probably shouldn't.

Regards,

Nathan Kafka

Nathan,

Thank you for contacting us. My name is Teri Miller, and I am a Corporate Customer Relations Manager for UPS. Mr. Abney received your email and asked that I contact you to address the concerns listed in your email below. Let me start by saying we appreciate your feedback and regret your unsatisfactory experience with our delivery service.

I am very sorry that your shipment has been delayed. Due to the extremely high volume of packages being shipped from Apple we are experiencing some delays in getting them delivered in the United States.

If you could provide a contact phone number where we may reach you directly I will continue to monitor this shipment until it gets delivered. Feel free to respond to this email, or if you prefer, I may be reached by phone at (404) 828-4900.

Best regards,

Teri Miller

On Reddit, someone said that UPS told them there was an electrical problem with a plane, so they had to switch. That would make sense given the tracking shows it departed zengzhou, then arrived again 30 minutes later in zengzhou. It also explains the second zengzhou departure, which may have been the first plane.

As for the weather, they may have just put that to show a delay. Mine is showing "mechanical failure".

Update looked on Istock .com located same phone 7+ matte black 128 GB in an Apple Store 30 min away . I reserved using reservations Apple . At assigned time I went and picked up new iPhone 7+. I bought it under the upgrade plan with Citizens Bank . I had to reapply as first account was linked with phone that's stuck in Korea. I was glad Apple didn't make me pay for phone in full. And I saved sales tax $55.00 I was charged in preorder as Apple Store was in New Hampshire. I will now cancell preorder with Apple with package intercept . I will never preorder again with Apple unless they change how it's done . I stock updates every min or so for those that want to locate phone at store. Good luck to all on getting their new phone.

Here's another thought. Typically when carriers have weather delays. aka Acts of God, they are not liable for reimbursement of passengers, or remediation of shipping fees. I can easily imagine that UPS put in weather delay rather than mechanical to bypass refunding Apple shipping charges. Or something to that affect.

Mine (Jet Black 128 GB 7 plus) was supposed to be delivered tomorrow between 11:30 & 1:30, but got a notice saying it was delayed due to mechanical failure. The iPhone is supposedly in Inchon Korea now. No estimate on a new delivery date & time at the moment. I'm going out of town tomorrow afternoon so I just had them (UPS) hold it at the UPS facility and I can pick it up early next week. (sigh) Hopefully.

iPhone 7+ JB AT&T preordered at 3:10 AM ET on Sept 9th with original delivery estimate of Oct 18-31. Status updated to PFS on early last Saturday where it has sat since then, though no change in Apple expected delivery time. Everyone seems to be saying around 4-5 days in PFS max. so I'm expecting shipment in the next day or so (?!) However, now I'm wondering if the mess with today's shipments will further delay those that haven't yet been sent out...

Incidentally, the iStockNow website was very useful in finding a 7+ matte black in stock in the Upper West Side store which I picked up this past Tuesday to tide me over until the preorder arrives since my 6 is in life support in terms of battery life. Really hoping the delays don't continue past October 4th when the 14-day return period expires and I'll have to bring the current 7+ back.
