My phone has finally updated with being released by the clearing agency. All this stuff is moving way too slow. UPS has a job to pickup & deliver yet they can't even do that correctly

I'm an 801. Departed Hong Kong at 7:12 which is the actual departure time for flight 63 (was scheduled for 7:25). At this point there is no way that I will get my phone before Monday. Still has to clear US customs in Alaska, fly to Louisville then fly to Baltimore. Phone won't even land in Alaska until 5PM EST

If it shipped out 7:12 PM Hong Kong time, that is 7:12 AM EST (Roughly). With a flight time of almost 17 Hours and 30 Minutes, that puts arrival in Anchorage at Midnight tonight. Right? I live on the East coast. (801 Crew)

I'm a part of the 801 squad that's now in HK. I'm so turned off by this entire thing I think next launch I'll just take my chances and pick one up in store or order one after all the hype dies down.

Apple played all of us.
I took the same philosophy with the 6 and now with the 7. I have been able both times to walk into a store and get one. The great thing about this process, while I might not have the phone or apple device the day it is released, is that this is in my control. I don't have to sit by a computer and watch flights and update UPS or FedEx statuses.

If you have this reference number "E10Y19JV4L9" you are on the same flight.

I tracked my package using that same reference number and it came up. But my status just updated from mechanical failure to being released by the clearing agency. Could this be a delayed scan and is on that flight you're talking about?

12:28pm local time. Then departing anchorage at 3:05pm arriving in Louisville at 1:00am est. sat. So we're stuck waiting til Monday for delivery.

Truth be told, I kind of like following tracking updates and the anticipation of the phone's arrival. Camaraderie with fellow pre-order folks is fun. Also I'm 1.5 hours from the nearest Apple Store. Happy for those that can walk in and get one but I still think all pre-orders should be filled before stores get stock.

Barring a hurricane hitting Louisville. Severe weather everywhere, according to UPS.

11:39 departure crew from Incheon just got an update on ups. 7:28 pm departure scan from Hong Kong

There are a ton of Anchorage to Louisville departures after arrival of Flight 63. Could be any one of them. You get the idea though. No realistic way East Coasters are getting their phones before Monday. I'm holding out a slight hope that it will make Baltimore distribution tomorrow and maybe, just maybe, they'll let me pick it up.

7+ 128 GB MB AT&T. Ordered 9/9 at 6:30 AM CDT. No movement. Still processing. No charge at bank. Delivery date 10/4-10/10. At this point, I genuinely believe this date will be right, and there are lots of people on this board and Reddit saying the same status and delivery date. It might be longer for you than end of next week. I'm stuck because I don't have an Apple Store nearby. If you do, use istocknow.com and try to reserve and pick one up. Fastest way at this point according to the boards.

Exact same order, only about an hour earlier. Still processing and no cc charge. I'd be curious to see if we move our statuses at the same time or close.

Finally the truth!

Dear Kevin,

Thank you for emailing our team. I tracked your shipment and we do show that the package is currently delayed due to weather and excessive volume. UPS is doing what we can to get these package delivered. Please keep tracking the shipment online for the most up to date information. You can also sign up for Notify me of Updates and it will email or text you when the status changes. I'm sorry, I wish I had more details to provide to you.

Sincerely,

Mandi L.

What the hell does it even mean to be released by a clearing agency?

I guess it wasn't a mechanical failure or severe weather then.

My assumption is it is neither. It's that UPS can't handle the excess shipments they have received. All those delays we received are just excuses because they don't want to tell us the truth

So I thought last night the wife's 7+ was finally leaving Incheon and headed to Anchorage. But no.....it continues on its scenic tour of Asia. I would hate to think where it would be if I had not paired $10 for expedited shipping!!! Needless to say, that is a refund I will ask from Apple.
