I read just fine, I had a greyed out address and assumed id be able to change it the next morning. I had zero options, and usually I would buy a full price unlocked phone with zero issues...

Hey, if you are "switching" over to iPhone upgrade program, you can just do it online. It definitely wasn't communicated well though because when the program came out with the 6S, you HAD to go into the store. I was unsure of this so on Wednesday I called Apple and they said I couldn't pre order if I did the iPhone Program. Perhaps the lady meant if I was already on the plan? I'm not sure. But I was on AT&T NEXT and just finishing my last payment this month, I was able to pre order for myself and my wife using the iPhone upgrade program. I am just having the phones sent to my house because by the time I ordered, no appointments were available and frankly, I'd rather just have it shipped to me and set it up myself.

Now if you are part of the program already, I believe you have to go into a store to trade the phone in and get the new one but not exactly sure. I'd like to know the answer to that because most likely I'll upgrade next year to the iPhone since they plan on re-doing the whole phone.

I did the exact same thing! Went pretty smooth, there were a few times where it said "an error has occurred" and i had to try it again. The whole order took 15 minutes maybe? Curious to know about next yr for sure because i dont have an apple store by me the closest is 3 hrs so if we have to go to the store i'll just pay off the balance and hopefully by another one online like i did this year

see im preparing for shipment, these stupid idiots on the apple end didn't let me modify my address. It made me shinto the billing account for my cell phone carrier. Im paying full retail who cares where I ship the phone. The idiocy sometimes of people who do logistics..

ugh that is the worst. I would be so annoyed. I still didn't get the confirmation email and the update isn't on my order yet. fingers crossed they did it correctly.

It's unlocked, but will ship with an AT&T sim inside.

My Black 128GB Plus still says processing (Sept 16 delivery). However when I log into AT&T my upgrade is gone and it shows me on the Next plan (was previously on contract that had ended). So AT&T recognizing my purchase. Hope mine goes into shipment mode soon. Got email confirm at 12:07am.

I getting a feeling that my ship date (Oct 4th-10th) could just be a placeholder. I went thru each carrier's website, searched the exact phone that I bought from Apple.com and each said i would get the phone around the second week of release.

I would not cancel until you have the phone at the store. You can cancel at the store. Worst case, you have to wait 30 min for the line to clear off your wireless account to use the number. I've done it that way before.

Weird. I was not approved for financing when trying to order with the upgrade program.

I've always had a good credit score so I don't know why it wasn't approved. Does anyone know if there's people randomly being denied the same way they were last year due to citizen one's systems being hammered?

My dates are Delivers 26 Sep, 2016 - 03 Oct, 2016 for a 7 Plus 256 Jet Black ATT Next. I ordered around 308pm eastern time on the Apple Store app. Is there a possibility my dates can possibly change to 9/16?

Yep! Always the case. I only read about 2-3 cases of people not getting their choice phone on launch day last year that were seeing October ship dates on preorder night. And even those 3 people got their phones between Monday and Saturday that next week. A lot of stress for nothing.. ..

Well - last year there were 2 weeks between launch and preorder.. but same was true in 2014 with 6Plus.. Pretty much all people got on launch day and that year was 1-week turnaround. So we have pleeeenty of precedent guiding us to take a deep breath and just enjoy life til next Friday. I know I am.. And I ordered JetBlack 128 7Plus at 2:51am from ATT app and have a 10/13-10/22 ship date. Lol! But I'm just chillin... It'll be here on 16th... without fail..

I believe it has to be the same address as your wireless account. There's lots of rules related to phone fraud. So change your wireless address first.
Or, if the address is in same city, just have UPS hold it at a customer center or retail store and pick it up.

Interesting experiences and comments here on this annual event for us crazy iphone lovers LOL

My experience was interesting. Happened to get up around half hour before launch and so I decided to try and see what happens. Neither refreshing the apple store in my Safari on mac or on ipad/iphone store app would give me a connection til 6 minutes after launch. In mean time I got into At&T 10 minutes early but it was about 6 after launch before I got all the stuff to work. I had a phone 256GB silver but it was Septebmer 23-30.

Well at that point I could getinto store on my Mac safari (still nothing on iOS store app) So I went thru the process and was able to snag a September 16 delivery on the same phone. At 7 AM i could cancel the AT&T online order for later date. My status is still in processing status but September delivery date so must be shipping from within US at nearer location per some comments. Would be nice to get it earlier but hey this is first opening date I have gotten in times I ordered. Got my 6S Plus at a store that had a few opening last year when I could not get a online order before late November.

Noting the survey at top the phones falling/slipping or sold out quickly seem to be mostly 128's in both 7 and 7 Plus with 68 percent (pasted below). My 256 GB Plus though is third at 23% though means that 3/4s are going for the dual lense of the 7 Plus. Anyway it seems to make sense in what sold out first in my way of looking at this data.

Good morning, everyone! Had a bit of a sleepy start cuz I couldn't fall back asleep till around 4am.

Anyway, preordering went pretty smooth for me besides the slight delay in the Apple Store app opening. Received confirmation at 2:12 (7 128gb rose gold, in-store pick up 11am reservation time), then received an email from Citizen's One at around 3:31 saying I was approved for iPhone Upgrade Program.

Question: Since this is my first time preordering, what actually happens when I go pick up my phone at the store? Why do I have a 30 minute checkin-in window (11:00-11:30)?
