I know the odds of the phone getting delivered early is nearly impossible but I've never had an iPhone/iPad pre order from Apple ever go into the preparing for shipment stage so quickly.

Fingers crossed.

It seems the Black iPhone 7 Plus 256GB configuration was the most sought after aside from Jet Black knowing there would be limited quantities...

Did anyone get a Day 1 delivery confirmation for a 256 Plus in black here? I'm sure someone did, but from browsing some of the pages it seems everyone has dates near the tail end of the month.

I did, placed the order with ease as well. Confirmation email was at 3:08 Eastern.

Only snag was when paying with Apple Pay the order was placed but the payment partially failed for the whole total so I got a triad alert from Citibank when was cleared up immediately when I called them and I updated the CC info with Apple using the actual card number and not the virtual one that gets created.

Yeah I don't want to sound like a baby but it's not really fair.
Servers getting hit by 10s of millions of requests for access from world wide every second. As an access point becomes free the next request gets that slot. It's all a matter of chance. Even Apple can't have 20 million servers slots open just so you get in first try.

Probably not.
Love the negativity, lol! Anything can happen with these pre orders. For the 6, I actually got my order and confirmation emails ten minutes before midnight, and I got my phones a week after launch day. People who ordered at 6am got their phones before me. Enjoy the apple roller coaster, people!

Your order is "preparing for shipment" because it's shipping from China. If it gets to the states early the shipping company will hold it until release day as instructed by Apple. The only way to get it earlier is if the shipping company makes a mistake and ships it to you before that. This rarely happens though, in fact I don't recall it ever happening in recent releases.
[doublepost=1473515892][/doublepost]Just tried to expedite my shipment by chatting with an Apple specialist. Even using the "friend" trick didn't help. In fact she told me that the other agent who expedited my "friend's" order worked against procedure and that the order might get to her later than the initial estimate. Probably a load of bull... Now trying via phone. Been holding for 20 minutes :(

Quick update on having my shipping upgraded to expedited. All I had to do was ask, and it was done. No additional charge or anything. Original delivery date was 27-29, now it's 23-27. He said he's seeing the same date but anything can happen over the next few days. We'll see. Hold time was exactly one hour.

Currently waiting on hold to try to get my dates changed. Hopefully this works and I'm not just wasting my time. At least the music is good lol

has anyone figured out who has the latest order time who's order has gone to preparing for shipment? I think I saw a few 1am PSTs but nothing later
I was going through this thread last night, saw someone who ordered 7 plus at 9am and is getting it on launch day.

I wish I had a better excuse, but I slept through my alarm and ended up ordering mine at 4:39 MT. Got a delivery date of October 4-10. Hoping I get it sometime in September :(

You realize the first date of original delivery is same as the last date of the revised delivery. So if you get the phone on the 27th both delivery estimates are correct.

Yes, but this adds the possibility of it arriving earlier. Can't hurt.

Tried to get an earlier day, but failed. I have a hard time being pushy, so I gave up pretty easily :(

No can't hurt. Wish you all the luck. Just figure it's a nice way for Apple rep to give you better feeling about delivery but not really committing to anything other than what you had. In all my order experience Apple either makes the date or betters it. They are very conservative about promising deliveries. Alway err on side of doing better than promised.

Just called apple, it only took 40 mins before they answered and they were able to change my delivery date from Oct. 4-10 to now Sept. 30-Oct. 6th

Not much better but slightly! They changed it from the standard 5 day shipping to the expedited 2-3 day shipping free of charge!
