I completely understand that there can be delays and issues with products and stock. I work in retail myself. Rule no.1 of customer service: Don't lie to your customers. There's no way we would ever sell an empty promise to customers. I guess that's why we win best customer service in the U.K. every year. *tongue pops*
 
Just spoke to a guy in Rewards team, basically upgrades, said DPD are delivering Saturday and Sunday so I will get mine within the 7 days quoted....
 
So basically probably fobbed off to get you off the call

Yup, I also told him I didn't believe him, he did say that he would notepad my account. Looking at DPD website they do actually deliver Saturday and Sunday's...

All I wanted was someone to give me a 'rough' date, now he's given me Sunday at the latest he's given me enough bullets to shoot them with lol

Spoke to upgrades team, as a standard they can take orders till 10 at night for next day delivery, so orders will be picked I guess till 12/2 normally and shipped out for next day

So I guess that is why they say you may not get your notification till the next morning as they are picking over night

Nope, Mine has and heard nothing.

Had a final call to EE to see if I could get any more sense out of them, the guy I spoke to said that the only info he had was that if someone ordered today they'd get delivery in November and that's where the rumoured November delivery date has come from; he assured me those who ordered on or immediately after preorder was opened would get delivered much earlier.

EE have totally lunched this; they may have 'underestimated the demand" but they definitely didn't "underestimate" how many they'd have on hand for launch day release. They knew exactly how many they'd have and should have informed people as they were taking their money that they couldn't guarantee launch day delivery (or any day close to that).

I don't like being lied to, this is insanely bad customer service and we're not talking about an impulse purchase of a packet of crisps, they're selling a phone and contract well over a grand. These carriers are huge companies who must have made millions on pre order day and they seem to have handed the entire preorder logistics to an intern..

This is a mess. If they were just honest rather than getting everyone's hopes up it wouldn't be so bad. I was assured on multiple occasions that my device was going to arrive tomorrow. Lying to customers isn't okay.

Yeh that is my thoughts, i remember the 6+ i didn't get anything until i tweeted DPD to see if they had anything for me.

I give up .... phoned EE again who advised that DPD have my device and gave me a number. Tried that number on the DPD site and no order found. Phoned DPD and they confirmed that the number EE have given me does not relate to anything on their system. The only slight bit of hope is that he said they have thousands of order numbers to process tonight in time for delivery tomorrow so even though the number I have doesn't work just now, doesn't mean it might not get processed later on tonight and actually work tomorrow. Wishful thinking ....

Not sure if this goes for anyone else but I got a text today from EE for delivery tomorrow, Jet Black 128GB Plus. I'm a tad skeptical if I'm honest... :confused:

My order direct from Apple isn't due for a week or two

But when I tracked it just now it says

"Return to consignor has been requested"
