I have to be honest, I think some people need to chill a bit. Calling EE twice a day for an update is going to achieve nothing. We go through this every year without fail and eventually everyone gets their iPhone and forgets all about the fiasco surrounding the release. No matter what network you're on you'd be in the same boat today. There is simply more demand than stock. Like every year.
There shouldn't be more demand than stock. Apple who are supposedly worth a trillion dollars should be competent enough to have enough stock of their biggest product.

They should be able to estimate the demand and if they can't competently do that then they should just go all out and build enough devices to flood the market. They don't need to worry about making too many because they know it will sell. They've got the financial clout so what's the issue?!

It's more a case of whipping the market into a frenzy but all it's doing is alienating loyal customers.

Not me. Planned on wfh but because of the mess they made I lost hope it would arrive today. At least my apple watch will come tomorrow. Too bad I don't have an iPhone to go with it lol :)

In the same situation, watch is arriving today. No phone though!!

This year does feel different. Apple basically said they would run out before pre-orders even began.

I would say I agree with you, but I would equally flip it on its head.

Instead of "every year we expect an iPhone on launch day but there is more demand than stock" it should be Apple going "every year we have more demand than stock so let's really really increase our stock to meet demand".

Believe me, I've been tempted to just buy a normal 7 myself just for the sake of new phone goodness... o_O

But I don't want a 7, nor do I want a phone that small. I want the better camera, sublime battery and that delicious black... so looks like I'm waiting. :(

Me neither .... I wouldn't bother upgrading from my 6s but for the fact I am ready for a bigger phone and I want that camera!!!!

Just got a new text from EE.
Your new device will be with you within 21 days. No need to call. We will keep you updated if anything changes.

WTH- it was meant to be 14 days yesterday?!?!

I think projections weren't help by the increased focus on the anniversary iPhone and the seemingly minor changes to this iteration. That the Plus is their biggest seller this time round clearly shows that the camera is a bigger deal than Apple anticipated. Also, with EE, the 12 month upgrade option could have had some influence

Given that it's 28 days i might cancel

As my jet black plus is due to arrive on the 4th of october.

7 days last night on the phone - now up to 28......just want some honest communication..........

Mine has now gone out to 28 days too.

What makes me wonder now, based on this fiasco, is whether the 12 month upgrade on the Max plans will only be allowed exactly 12 months from when we receive the iPhone 7 thereby meaning that we'll also lose ground when the iPhone 8 is released. Also, if that doesn't turn out to be the case, would those who are part of the early upgrade programme get any priority over others who are not part of said programme.

This is b*ll*cks.

Got the 28 days text; I was hoping that was one they were sending everyone and I'd get earlier (say 14 days) but no, some seem to have got 21 days so presume I'll be waiting more than 21 days.

I ordered on the 4Gee Max 12 month early upgrade resumably we'll only be to get the 8 a month after release! That's beyond annoying.

Considering cancelling and seeing if I can get from anywhere else now.

EE have lunched this totally. I still want to see actual proof that Apple short delivered them against the amount they were expecting. Not sure I buy it tbh.

*edit* grendall100 beat me to it
