It's true that it's a shambles, but this time around I've noticed a slightly different view of the press angle regarding the launch.

Rather than 'All hail Apple, another massive success means more phones required', it's more like 'Apple not producing enough, leaving resellers high and dry with customers angry'.

It's the way it should be.
As much as EE have p*ssed me off today, it wouldn't make a difference what network I was with. My sisters are with Vodafone and ordered 7's at the same time. One got one today, the other didn't. Vodafone couldn't even give her a reason why and she's looking at 28 days. (Jet Black).

At least with EE, I could call up and cancel within 10 minutes at a generally mega busy time. If that were Vodafone it would be at least an hour on hold - no lie.

Either way, it's Apple's issue, and it's probably a good thing for them that the Note 7 has it's problems as a lot of consumers would have probably thought 'screw it' and just picked one of those instead out of spite had they been readily available in stores too.

I completely agree. I think more of the anger in this thread should be directed towards Apple instead of EE. It may feel like EE have screwed us over but that's only because Apple screwed them over first.

If the IUP are getting priority for iPhone, I'd 100% ditch EE and join the IUP! I cant see how someone's iPhone that has been purchased can get recalled to go to another customer because the manufacturer sees their own direct customers at priority. If that's the case, I reckon I'm supporting the wrong company by buying their products!

So last Friday I went to the EE store in the Trafford centre and per ordered my phone.
Pick that one as it's open late and I can pick it up after I finished work, as I want my phone on launch day.
Sorted out with a member of staff who asured me of a phone (matte black plus) on launch day and even booked a time slot for me (8pm)

So wondered in just after 8,
A said to a memeber of staff that I'm here to pick up my new iPhone.
Now it goes down hill fast.
EE: As anyone called you to come and get your phone.
Me: no, but I have a 8pm slot.
EE: but we don't give out time slots
Me: well that's what I was told last week and your member of staff even wrote it on the slip.
EE: why would they do that we didn't know if we would get any stock.
And EE have had no stock of the pluses anywhere in the U.K. All devices have been kept by Apple.

I stated to compline about not being told this or having any update this week about lack of stock.

Was very disappointed.
EE have said they will sort out a good will gesture when I eventually get my phone probably in 2-3 weeks time

Just wish EE where more honest about the stock levels or lack of them or gave customers updates

I ordered a 256GB matte black 7+ last Friday at 08:45 in a London EE Store. Was congratulated on being #1 on the store list for iPhone 7 pre-orders and told I'd get a text confirming availability for launch day. To be fair to the store I got a text yesterday (Thursday 15th) at 17:23:

"Hi,

Unfortunately, due to high demand and stocking issues of the new iPhone 7 in the colour and memory you have chosen, we are unable to complete your order until further notice. Please note, as you have pre-ordered the handset, you order will be treated as priority.

The EE Store"

I visited the store on the way home from work and was told it could take 'Up to a month' to get my phone.

So I have no defined availability date and EE obviously had an expectation of stock allocation from Apple. I'm pretty sure Apple shafted most of the the networks in the 23 launch countries in order to fulfill their own pre-orders.

Glad I didn't pre-sell my 128GB 6+ and am quite enjoying iOS 10 on it. As suggested by others here I'll call EE to change my tarrif or request a PAC as I am out of contract on Monday for 2x iPhone 6+ paying over £100/month. Might as well have them sweat a bit to keep my custom...

Forgot to mention my pre-ordered black silicone iPhone 7+ case arrived on Thursday 15th. The one time I plan ahead and get the case in advance, there was no need as the stores must have a bazillion 7+ cases filling their stock rooms :p

See all this recall is filling me with confusion

Ordered late last Friday for

iPhone 7+ Jet Black 128GB

Angered that I never got it today but got a text from DPD that I will get a delivery tomorrow. Quick convo this afternoon to CS confirmed this. What's this recall all about?

I'm glad I also didn't pre-sell my 64GB 6.
Like you I have 2 lines one for my iPhone and one for a iPad. The phone is already out of contract now and the iPad as less then a month left.

Tempted not to bother this time and have 12 months on a sim only deal.
But guessing that there will be the same problems next year.

I wouldn't say high demand more like no stock.

Wonder how many people won't bother with a upgrade this year. Apple are lucky that Samsung have had problems.

If I didn't have a Apple Watch I would be ordering a One plus 3

I have received my delivery slot for between 9.45 and 10.45 today. For a 7+ 128 silver. Hope lots of other get their delivery today too....

Between half 9 and half 10 for my gold 7. And I'm in work til closing at CarPhoneWarehouse today! Urgh haha.
Ah well, will tide me over til my Plus anyway when they're available on John Lewis again!

Should say only available to Tom Cook, his mates and selected photographs

So...my saga with EE.... rang yesterday after getting no texts or emails. Apparently the order I placed on Friday (online) was still waiting to be processed! Furious! Had to start from scratch with the upgrade and ordered it yesterday, with a 28 day delivery. I'd love to know why the other 5 times I rang chasing confirmation this week, I was told there's no problem, and the order was definately placed.
So annoyed as I was sim only and had a 04-10 Oct delivery window with Apple direct, which I cancelled as EE promised an earlier delivery.
Now, it's likely I'll be on holiday when the phone arrives so I'll have to try and contact DPD from abroad.

For transparency I have a shared plan with 2 iPhone 6 pluses and a SIM for my iPad Air 2 all sharing one data pool. EE currently have the best shared plans so likely to stick with them...
