It was quite clear from day one of preorders on apple.com that he plus wasn't going to be available. Apple gets stock first and foremost, so if they didn't have any, nobody else would. It was the same last year.

That's not entirely true now is it....

Yeah I get that, but they out and out promised stock and delivery for day one preorders that they couldn't fulfil. Not to drag up old conversations on this thread, but it would have just been good to get a little transparency to set the right expectations instead of all this uncertainty. It's clear EE now agree based on the changes they've made to keeping people updated on it all since the beginning of pre-orders.

It certainly wasn't clear when EE were taking my money on the first day of preorders or right up until the 15th when I was repeatedly told I'd be getting my phone on launch day, until I got the infuriating text from the EE ceo the day before delivery.

It was nothing like this f*cked up last year either.

Nailed it.

I spoke to EE about an hour ago (couldn't help myself checking up on the order) and asked if there was any update on the stock situation. The lady I spoke to told me that they're expecting to receive shipments daily but couldn't tell me any more than the usual "just wait for the despatch text" and that changing to a different model would put you to the back of the queue for it. I explained that I was calling because I'm moving house in three weeks and she put a note on the account about it, not sure that would do anything but confuse whoever is allocating phones but she seemed to think it was a good idea.

No further discount on the handset/contract offered, but I was offered a discount on their broadband services...

those offered a discount are lucky, I was told there's nothing official and no discount for me :(

I'm more inclined to believe EE took it upon themselves to deliberately mislead then deal with complaints later. Nobody else listed the plus as launch day delivery; Not o2, not voda, not Carphone. They all said October at the earliest. Yet EE could magically secure jet black for day one when even apple didn't have any for themselves...

When I pre-ordered in store at 10am on the Friday she was very up front about the November possibility. I just didn't take her seriously. I think I'd have been fairly angry at being told it'd be available on time and then later told it wasn't.
[doublepost=1474308499][/doublepost]Some of the O2 punters are claiming to be getting delivery of 7+ Jet Blacks tomorrow.

On the apple site the matte black 128gb plus is 2-3 weeks availability. The same config in Jet Black says November
It was rumoured that the anodising process for JB takes longer to manufacture, and has a lower yield. Therefore, it takes more effort and time to manufacture a JB than matte black.

Is the matte black in equally as high demand as the jet black? I'm hoping not

There seems to be an awful lot of people going for the (matte) black either because they prefer it over the JB or concerns over the JB being prone to scratching. From many of the posts plenty also changed from JB to B in the hope to receive sooner.....

Not sure if this is true but took it from the EE forum.
