That's one of the reasons why I haven't called and complained about my $20 assistance fee they tacked on to my order yet.

It's too easy for them to *clickclick* "Alright, I did go ahead and take off that $20 fee however we are going to have to re-order your phone. Your new estimate is December 15-31. Have a great day, thanks for using T-mobile!"

I complained about those 20$ activation fees and they just credited my current plan bill. They didn't touch my iPhone order nor remove the 20$ from the iPhone 7 preorder.

I just got off the phone with a tmobile rep and she said that my order for the 7+ matte black 32gb i placed around 12:30am on 9/9 over the phone and signed the EIP 20 minutes later which had a ship date of 9/19-9/26 which is still processing said that my order is showing up as back order and that on their end they see a ship date of 9/21.
at least you're seeing an actual ship date

also I should note that when I pre-ordered the Note 7, I wasn't charged until a the week the phone was shipped. If T-Mobile keeps the trend these phones should be shipping out on time for the 26 Sep.

They usually don't have any more info than we do. So I'm surprised they gave you that date.

Good possibilty if they had more time.

We know Apple won't move their preorder dates up. So, if preorder times in both scenarios start on the same day, but one is longer by weeks, how does that get you your phone quicker? Really want to understand this...

That's the date the Customer Care rep gave me as my ship date and my timeframe was 9/19-9/26.

Yeah, same for me when I preordered the Note 7.
Though, if that was true, my 9/19 iP7+ preorder should be charged...today? I have a feeling its not going to happen.

Im assuming there is probably two shipments per time frame. There first to cover the first shipments of the month then a second to cover the rest of that month and the beginning of the next. Hopefully ours both ship out on the 26th.

Funny. You not getting your phone now was what kicked off your entire argument, and you blamed the pre-order process, Apple's supply chain, their planning, etc, etc. It's very easy to be the armchair quarterback when you're not the one in the game. But ok, you don't mind waiting... Great!

And I was just having a discussion as well, and was voicing my opinion, which differed from yours. And that's fine, as our opinions don't have to agree, but the fact that you think your opinion is not an opinion, but "the truth" as you call it, really says it all...

To be honest, it really doesn't matter to me how upset you get. I'm perfectly happy waiting for my iP7. If it comes sooner, then great. If it takes a few weeks, no big deal, I just keep using my perfectly functioning iP6s+. Hopefully, you get yours soon too.

Not getting my phone now and voicing my opinion over this terrible iphone 7 launch is different.
I'm happy with my 6 plus and if it takes another month or 2 its not a big deal to me.
Fact is that they did announce a release date and launched sales for devices they did not have and could not sell to the public. Is that an opinion or the truth?
They advertised this new and "magical" Jet Black iphone with this great anodizing coating and videos showing how this special process is applied and this that and the other and they had none to sell and they're telling people to wait a month or even more.
People camped out and waited in long lines for the 7 Plus model and they just told them to go home.
You dont see anything wrong with any of that?
What is your opinion? That Apple shouldn't be criticized and held accountable for any of this and it's the "entitled" customer's fault?

Video game consoles have the same problem, as well as other highly anticipated electronics. This surely is not isolated to Apple products. You can hold them accountable, yes, but this is fairly common stuff we're seeing. I remember trying to get a PS2 and Nintendo 64 for months.

Got a call from executive team after email to John L. Highlights:

  • Apologizes profusely. Got no credits. No moving up in line
  • Said they were overwhelmed by orders. No!
  • They are at whim of Apple. They do not have 256 7+ matte black yet. Apple won't tell them when. When they get them, is when they know they got em
  • He still felt the 9/19-9/26 ship date was accurate.
  • That being said. No stock yet of 7+as of 3 Pm EDT today.
  • Understand frustration. Understand other carriers getting them out. They can't Ship what they don't have
My takeaway: TMo and sprint bottom of barrel after Verizon and AtT when it comes to Apple products.

So. I can't see any of us 7+ getting before Thursday.

more time = more phones being shipped on planes I'm not talking about just my phone its everyone that ordered...

When you repeat the same broken process every year for over 9 years now and expect different results then that's the definition of insanity. ;)

No, I do not see anything wrong with that, nor is your "truth" anything more than an opinion. Apple or T-Mobile have nothing to be held accountable for. Nothing!

Not counting the carriers, there are 30 different combinations of the new phone. Add in the 4 big carries and those combinations turn into 120. That makes it pretty hard to project what is going to be the best selling model, what carrier is going to sell the most, what the worst selling model is going to be,etc..... All they can do is project what their initial sales will look like. They cannot make 6 million jet black iPhone 7s day 1 and hope they sell. This is how business works. You make projections and then deal with reality. You don't leave unsold product on the table. Unsold product = losses. It's Business 101. Supply and Demand - seeing what the Demand is and then fulfilling the Supply. NOT the other way around.

The FACT is they did announce a release date and launched sales for devices they DID have. Many, many people got brand new iPhones last Friday. Mostly those who got up early to order online or wait at the Apple Store. Or those that chose the less popular models. This is the way it has worked with nearly every product launch. It's the name of the game. You sound as though everyone who wanted a phone on launch day should get one. That's not how it works.

I thought the phone I wanted 7+ silver 265 GB would be the lowest selling of the plus models, and I'd get it sooner rather than later. Doesn't appear to be the case as I'm still waiting. But, it's not a big deal.

Spoke to a member of the executive team who was following up on my email to JL from Friday. My ship date for 7 plus, 128GB Black, was 9/19 - 9/26 and he confirmed that it was still valid but they have not received a shipment of 7 plug MB's in the size capacity. Since i was repeatedly told of 9/19 - 9/20 delivery on twitter and on phone (early on the delivery window) and because they had repeatedly failed to process the work-orders requested to fix my.tmobile so that my order could show up, he did offer to compensate me and I'm happy with that even though I would be carrying around my iPad for the rest of the week starting Tuesday afternoon since my phone ships out tomorrow.
