If you have 3 phones in 1 order, does it wait until all 3 are in stock before shipping out? All 7+ but one is a Jet Black which won't ship until Nov. It was placed over the phone since their website kept crashing.

Just got this message from Art Lucero on Twitter, in response to a message I sent about being frustrated at a late shipping date for a Jet Black 7:

"Hi _____. The demand for the jet black was bigger than anticipated by Apple. The device went into backorder status in 15 minutes of launch. Right now the 11/1 is the anticipated date for majority of orders for that color."

Called at 7am central time, or ordered 7, black, 32gb, documents emailed to me two minutes later. Says scheduled to ship 9/15 or 9/16. Was easier for me than I thought it would be.
Wow. I did mine an hour earlier and my ship date is 9/27-10/10 (I am JOD, though).

I have the same question. I was told on the phone I would pay $30/month x 24 months but I would receive a one time credit of $195 + $18/month. I don't see the monthly credit mentioned anywhere. Anyone know how this all works?
Kind of. I spoke to two reps yesterday afternoon and this is how they explained it to me. For the record, I ordered a black iPhone 7 plus, 256gb. I ordered online at 12:10am PDT, got and EIP email right away, a order confirm email around 2:30am and then a text this morning confirming it with a 9/19-9/26 ship date.

Buy the phone through EIP. I did so. First time it failed so I started again and then, under the monthly amount of $30, it had a link noting "take advantage of special offer" or something like that. I clicked on it and it took me to the explanation page. I think this notification is hit or miss.

Both reps told me that I will get $195 for my old iPhone 6 Plus once I send it in. How that is to be applied-not sure. Some say monthly, others say all at once. The rep told me that will reduce the EIP to around $22/month.

When the phone is received, they will issue a bill credit for the amount a 32gb iPhone 7 would cost monthly, for 24 months. She said about $18/month. So that will bring my monthly increase to about $4.

I was skeptical, so I called back and was told the exact same thing. I asked "that is really too good to be true...and you know how that goes". She said they all received training on the promo yesterday morning and their benefit is that you will stay with T-Mobile for 24 months. Offer is only good for customers in good to excellent standing, and your old iPhone has to be paid off completely (I got mine outright).

Hope this helps. What they told me seems to jive with what I am seeing posted here. I had one rep actually show me the calculation over chat down to the penny based on my new phone and my trade in.

Believe me, I was very skeptical. But story seems to check out. T-Mobile is going to pull customers from the other carriers with this, and that is worth more than a 32gb iPhone 7!!

Hope that helps

If it's anything like last year which i assume it is, no they do not. They ship as they become available if they are it's own individual order each. If they are together in 1 order, i believe they all ship out together.

If they're on the same order, yes, they'll wait until the entire order is ready before shipping. All the reps I dealt with when trying to order tried to process 2 separate orders for my 2 phones for this reason.

Interesting. My Jet Black says 11/1 and I ordered with one of the specialists on his team who said it should go out well before that.

What's the better option for someone looking to get the iPhone 7 in jet black with 128 GB capacity:

1. Signing up for Apple Upgrade and paying $36.58 per month for 24 months or...
2. Signing up for T-Mobile JoD and paying $26.00 per month for 18 months with $99.99 down?

The T-Mobile jump on demand upgrade program appears to be cheaper, on paper. Assuming that I don't care for Apple Care that is being offered with the Apple Upgrade program, is there any reason why I wouldn't want to go with T-Mobile JoD?

JOD order placed after being on the phone for 2 hours this morning. Jet Black sold out while the T-Mobile outage this early morning. Estimated ship date now for jet black 128GB is 11/1.. Being thirsty I signed the EIP which now locked me in on the order. No way I can cancel the order now... This truly sucks donkey b@lls.....

Hi everyone!

I'm in the same boat with everyone regarding the T-Mobile free iPhone deal.

I was able to place my order for a iPhone 7 32GB in black around 8AM this morning. I received the EIP agreement as well as an order confirmation to both my email and as a text message. The only thing I think I'm missing is the $1 hold on the account I used to pay with. My shipping estimate is showing Sept. 15-16.

My confusion is in the actual trade-in process. Going through the trade-in link from the T-Mobile site, I am only offered $165 for my iPhone6 with no mention of the iPhone7 deal anywhere. Does anyone know how this works? I did talk to a T-Mobile representative but he didn't exactly clear up any confusion. He told to me submit the trade-in and that it should work itself out once the iPhone7s are shipped out.

Can someone help?

TIA!!

I see where the confusion is coming from if you go through the trade-in "steps". But for me, that table at the top pretty much lays things out. If you trade in an iPhone 6 (or 6+, 6s or 6s+), you're getting $650 trade in credit. This credit offsets the $650 cost of a new iPhone 7 32GB. This is how they can say its essentially a free phone.

But what makes this "promo" different is that you're not receiving the $650 "trade in" credit immediately (as you normally would with a traditional trade in). You're getting that $650 in "value" over 24 monthly credits.

Like someone said earlier, its a very creative way of locking you in for 24 months without you actually committing to a contract. Sure, you can quit Tmo 12 months in, but you will not receive the remaining 12 months of credit for your original "promo trade-in". AND you will owe the remaining balance of the new phone.

This is how this promotion differs from a regular trade in. I did see that FAQ at the bottom that links you to that trade-in value calculator but I figured thats just a remnant of their regular trade-in program. And judging by the various, often colorful, responses people here have received from TMo reps directly, I wouldnt doubt it if the web developer who put up that page had no clue how this promo actually works either.

How I expect this to go for me is:

1. I preordered an iPhone 7 32GB on EIP. I now owe, say $30 a month
2. When I receive new phone, I send back old phone
3. Once they accept my trade-in, they will start to credit me $30 a month
4. My monthly bill will show +$30 for new phone and -$30 for old phone. It will be this way for the next 23 months
5. My net cost for new phone after sending back my old phone is $0 (not counting sales tax)

I totally get where you're coming from. Confusion, however, lies in the method of getting those credits. T-Mobile should have explained exactly how the credits would apply once they receive the trade-in phone. Instead, they just say they'll credit it back and it'll end up being free in the end.

Going through the trade-in process isn't as simple as that. There's no mention of the iphone deal when you start the trade-in process. And people, like me, just get a message saying that it's only worth X amount of dollars. I would rather them explicitly say that we'll get whatever trade-in amount they quote us online, in addition to X amount of dollars to offset whatever is left instead of having everyone scramble for an answer and worry that they're not doing it properly.

I didn't do JoD as I simply opened another EIP on my account.

I want to cancel my pre-order but can't get a hold of someone to figure out how.

I signed my EIP as well. Does that mean I can't cancel? How did you know this?

The rep I was on the phone with 3AM EST this morning just called me back to give me the "good news" about the order going thru. He said that although the order went thru once I signed the EIP agreement it locks order & agreement. Me being fast (I got the EIP before he called) i signed it effectively dooming myself to a late fall ship date. He said had I not signed the EIP he could have cancelled the order and checked stock on another color.

Finally got my EIP and everything sorted out and got my order information as well. Order info states that my phone will be shipped 9/27-10/10 which I feel is incorrect since Daniel (my rep) told me I was his first call and he assured me I'd get it on launch date. This is my 3rd preorder with Tmo so I'm not going to stress it too much. I'll only start to get frustrated if the shipping info is, in fact, correct with what the order email says. They usually give out a "backordered" status or some weird shipping date but always end up coming on time. Don't worry too much about shipping dates right now until it gets close to when tracking numbers start going out or order updates become available. YMMV

When did tracking numbers etc go out about this time last year? Can't remember.

Yeah, I hear you. When I followed the trade-in link and it said my phone was worth $165, that didnt make sense to me either. I eventually gave up on trying to order online and called in. When I called in, the rep knew exactly what I was talking about and asked me about the phone models I was trading in to confirm they were eligible for the promotion.

I agree, TMo kind screwed up this whole promo. The way I envision this whole thing is Legere or whoever, came up with this creative way to lock people in for 2 years and he/she dropped it on everyone, including people internal to TMobile, Wednesday night. They had a 1 work day (Thursday) to figure out how to implement the thing and get people signed up. It obviously didnt work out well.

I think the best thing to do is if you did go through the traditional trade-in route to contact TMobileHelp via Twitter to let them know their promo was confusing and you want to make sure you're good to go. Let them sort it out for you.

And if you havent ordered yet and want to take advantage of the promotion, just call in to avoid the possible confusion.

That does help. But I just wish they had a place online where it explicitly states the steps in clear English for us that pre ordered last night so that there is no confusion.

I read this though in the EIP so it doesn't make sense we should still be able to cancel.

You have the right to cancel this agreement within 14 days (or more based upon where you made the purchase) of your acceptance and return the equipment in accordance with our return policy. If you exercise this right you will have no payment obligation under this agreement. Your equipment may not work with wireless services or on wireless networks that are not provided by T- Mobile.
