I just want to say that I'm categorically opposed to the non existent concept of "Pre-ordering" which is total nonsense. We all ORDERED the phone before it was available for sale. We didn't pre-order anything. There is no such thing as pre-ordering, that's what one does before they order. Maybe it's picking one's nose... Just like there's no such thing as pre-heating. Preheating is what happens BEFORE you turn the knob and heat the oven. Anyway, no such thing as pre-ordering. It's stupid marketing speak.

I got an EIP email before order confirmation email probably ~1:45 minutes apart that was on Friday evening
I signed the EIP. I got the EIP email and the order confirmation email. I don't know if I am getting the "order placed" status because of method I'm using to check the order. Is everyone else using the app? Is anyone issuing that online link that I am?

I'm pretty sure what they told you at the local tmobile store is a bunch of bs.
tmobiles reps are telling everyone not to worry and just order now and process the free trade up offer later once the phone arrives. Many different phone and chat reps also told me I can drop off the trade in devices at a local tmobile store.

Believe me, I wished my store would have handled the situation like you said... Now I'm stuck with a November delivery :(

I hear you. They lied and made you panic in order to put the order through them.
Very shady move, I'd call tmobile and explain to them what happened. You got the wrong info and that store caused you to get in the back of the line. Maybe they can push your order up to where it was before they cancelled it.

The Jet Black colour option for the new iPhone 7 sure has a lot of you frothing, despite the lack of a standard headphone jack, and fair enough really, it does look sexy as all hell. Even the description from Apple themselves is dripping with SECH (sexy tech).

"The high-gloss jet black finish was achieved through a new feat of design engineering — a remarkably precise, nine-step process of anodization and polishing. The end result is so purely and continuously black, you can’t tell where the aluminium ends and the glass begins. The dark side, indeed."

But what you probably missed while you were gushing over this shiny black beauty, was the fine print at the bottom of the Apple site that reads:

"The high-gloss finish of the jet black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision nine-step anodization and polishing process. Its surface is equally as hard as other anodized Apple products; however, its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone."

So basically, if you're worried about scuffin' ya phone, you'll either need to buy a case to protect it or choose a different color.

With a surface so shiny, it'll probably show your grubby fingerprints pretty easily too. Just something to think about before you decide that you just have to have the limited edition color.

Could they have done it to get commission or the $20 assisted service fee instead? Shady

Both. But mostly the 2 year upgrade.
Stores get graded by sales.
If you make the purchase and upgrade via their store they get the credit for it and the commission.

Why are people getting charged 20 dollars? i never did.

You will get the fee if you ordered by phone or local store.
You avoid the fee if you order online.
