I apologize if this question has already been asked, but here is my situation (question at the end):

1) I have an iPhone 6+
2) I bought it under Verizon's old 2-year upgrade plan (discounted phone - paid in full on 9/12/14 @4am-preorder date 2 years ago)
3) Verizon says I'm not eligible for upgrade until 10/3/16 (don't know why)
4) It says I can upgrade at "retail price"
5) (If I am correct) Under the new Verizon plans, there is no discount (so what's the difference between waiting for an "upgrade" and just purchasing at retail price now?)
6) I am not trading in my 6+ (yes, I know, it sounds stupid bc according to the info out there, I could be getting 650 for it, but I have my reasons)

Question: Do I wait until 10/3/16 for my "upgrade" or just pre-order tonight as I have in the past?

Thanks in advance to any advice given :) Total newbie here, first time posting

Someone just showed proof via the Apple.com thread that they pre-order through the Verizon app. Everyone try it now.

Just used Verizon's app and upgraded one of my lines with iPhone 7 Plus 128GB.

According to the thread, there's more to it, than just straight handing you 650, apparently it's given over the course of 24 months and some other stuff that I'm too stupid to comprehend at 2:30am

Yeah, it looks like they reduce your monthly payment by the prorated amount or something. Brain not firing on all cylinders here.

I have it pulled up in the app, I'm just afraid they'll cancel the order for exploiting the loophole :/. Think I'm going to just wait it out.

Exactly, carriers have been known to do that in the past...
I found the "loophole" post, it worked, and then when I went to go pay, the app crashed. I'm going to take it as a sign to wait it out also...

After selecting the iPhone 7 plus, it tells me the ship date is sometime in October already. How is that possible 15 minutes before pre-order?

What's the loophole? I was in the app just checking things out and it popped up on my eligible line so I went for it. Now I'm worried.
