My 2012 Mercedes E350 had a little trouble connecting but I managed to get it paired. So far have made numerous calls using Siri with no issues.

Hello,

Just wanted to reach out and see if any of you have been experiencing bluetooth connectivity issues between your new iPhone 7/+ and your cars bluetooth system?

I got my iPhone 7 yesterday and noticed right away the bluetooth audio steam and call system freezes and does not work. I read up on the issue and seems to be a problem across a few different car brands.

Basically with BMW Connected system. The phone will pair. Stream music for 5-10 seconds then the system freezes. Bluetooth calls don't work and the phone needs to be restarted to free up, only to have the problem happen again once it connects.

Anyone else having similar issues. Across any other car brands?

I'm hoping its an iOS problem. My iPhone 6 worked perfect. Then iPhone 7 with 10.0.1 came. Bluetooth brick now.

Having the exact same problem and issues in my 2015 M3.... really glad this isn't just me. So I'm going to just stick to using then USB to lightning and wait for apple/BMW to fix this hopefully soon.

Im having some minor issues with bluetooth calling. But overall works fine. Id delete all history of the phone from the car and the car from the phones bluetooth settings and start over with a fresh connection

I've not had a problem with my 6er but then I stream the music through a lightning cable so that ti get cover art. Phone calls via bluetooth are fine although it took an age to initially pair

I'm having issues w/ my 2013 Hyundai Elantra.

It will initially pair fine.

But after turning off the car and restarting the car I getting a very loud 'pairing failed' message through my car's audio system.

Only fix is to delete my phone from the car and re-pair it every time.

I had no issues w/ my iphone 6 :(

this. me too. same car.

Have a 2013 GMC Terrain and when I get a phone call and pick up via Bluetooth, it sends the call to the phone, and I have to select the Transfer call option several times before the audio finally goes through the car. Happened on my 5S and 7 as soon as I upgraded to iOS10

No issues in an aftermarket Pioneer system.

It's my understanding the OEM bluetooth systems are fairly fickle - BMW's in particular.
I have a Pioneer head unit too, connects great. Question though, what does yours start playing when you connect it? Mine seems to randomly play music in my music at times, is there some setting?

Anybody tried 10.0.2 to see if this fixed?
I'm running 10.2 and sadly they have not addressed any bluetooth issue in that beta update.

Do you have shuffle enabled? That will play random songs.

Typically it plays wherever I left off from the last time I was listening, but occasionally for some reason it decides to go to "all songs" and start with the first song in alphabetical order from my library.

I've made calls over BT but noticed streaming music is sketchy. I'll try again tonight.

i don't think so, i'll check.

i'm flipping between music services all the time; beats1, amazon, music, podcast, and youtube so it may be whatever is in the control panel when it connects.

Having the same issue too on a 15 M4. Also noticed music keeps playing while I'm on a call.

15 E63s - 7+ 10.0.1

Connects automatically and starts playing music but it's choppy. Several times the phone has shown the "connect to iTunes" screen and needs to be reset.

15 Jeep Cherokee - 6s 10.0.0

Had initial problems connecting until BT profile deleted on phone and car. Connects now and plays music, but once the phone is plugged into the USB port BT will not work.

It would work with my car for about 10 mins, then stops.

2015 MB ML63.

Why do people even use Bluetooth in their cars when the same car would most likely support and source audio from the iPhone through USB?

I do that in all of my cars. Haven't use Bluetooth or Aux in years.

No problem in my 2016 MB GL350. It look forever to pair in my 2014 Honda Odyssey...but now that it is paired it has worked fine.

My cars don't put the calls through the car speakers and microphone unless we use Bluetooth. My recent rental of a 2016 suburban had car play and plugging it in was all I needed to do to put everything through the car. I really enjoyed car play.

I'm having major issues with my 2015 Ford Escape with MyFordTouch 3.8. I have a new iPhone 7 Plus. Choppy audio after a few minutes of streaming; sometimes loses connection completely. No issues with previous iPhones.

CarPlay =/= Mfi. I am talking about MFi which has been available since years now :)

Here is what I do, I keep my phone connected to my car BUT i stream music through USB,so basically my phone is not connected to the car as an audio device.

If I get a call,it just moves over to bluetooth. I do that on all my cars and it works. Try it.

I haven't not used aux or bluetooth for music in years. It's just not worth it.Just keep phone connected to car via BT,change audio source to USB. That is the best compromise. It works on all of my cars apart from my daily driver BMW. I made a decision to get one without iDrive a couple of years back. Foolish decision. It will work on your Honda.

I have had issues with BMW and my iPhone since I got mine. It's a huge bummer.

How about, because I never take my phone out of my pocket when in my car. No wires and no distractions. I never use the USB connection.
