How about, because I never take my phone out of my pocket when in my car. No wires and no distractions. I never use the USB connection.

To each his own. Best part is it charges your phone while you drive and gives a much much higher quality of sound. The higher sound quality is so much apparent if you have a car that has a high-end music system.

Agreed about that. I do connect sometimes via USB for the music in my MB and Honda...but still need that Bluetooth.

Have had problems connecting my iPhone7 Plus to my Peugeot RT6 system.

Initial BT pairing went fine, but the Phone system won't always connect although the audio streaming works fine.

Interestingly the 7 connected easily to my 2011 Lancer's notoriously awkward voice activated Bluetooth system (none of my other iPhones have worked first time without messing about removing and re-adding) and it makes calls fine. The only thing I noticed is when I accept an incoming call the car makes the 'hang up' beep sound as the call connects making you think it's failed, however it's connected fine.

I'm having issues w/ my 2013 Hyundai Elantra.

It will initially pair fine.

But after turning off the car and restarting the car I getting a very loud 'pairing failed' message through my car's audio system.

Only fix is to delete my phone from the car and re-pair it every time.

I had no issues w/ my iphone 6 :(

Same issue with my 2013 Elantra. Both my 7 Plus and my wife's 7 do it. I can pair and it works fine, and then the second time I get in my car it connects fine, but the third time and after it just says pairing failed and I have to re-pair. Really hope this gets fixed in an update. 10.0.2 didn't fix it.

Why do people even use Bluetooth in their cars when the same car would most likely support and source audio from the iPhone through USB?

I do that in all of my cars. Haven't use Bluetooth or Aux in years.

Taking my phone out of the pocket and connecting it to USB every time sounds annoying to me.

Just getting in my car and start driving and the music starts playing automatically -> heaven!

I never have any battery issues, so charging is not needed.

Hello,

Just wanted to reach out and see if any of you have been experiencing bluetooth connectivity issues between your new iPhone 7/+ and your cars bluetooth system?

I got my iPhone 7 yesterday and noticed right away the bluetooth audio steam and call system freezes and does not work. I read up on the issue and seems to be a problem across a few different car brands.

Basically with BMW Connected system. The phone will pair. Stream music for 5-10 seconds then the system freezes. Bluetooth calls don't work and the phone needs to be restarted to free up, only to have the problem happen again once it connects.

Anyone else having similar issues. Across any other car brands?

I'm hoping its an iOS problem. My iPhone 6 worked perfect. Then iPhone 7 with 10.0.1 came. Bluetooth brick now.

I'm having a problem as well. Will connect at first for 10 seconds and then disconnect. Then connect again. And the first minute of audio streaming music is stuttering really bad. After this minute and a half though my connection is fine. 10.0.2 didn't change anything. My iPhone 6s, Nexus 6p, OnePlus 3 (yes I use alot of phone's) never had a problem.

Elantra owners... I may have found a temporary fix. I disabled Contacts Sync on the car, then paired, and then turned off Contacts Sync on the iPhone (click the little i button next to the Elantra connection after pairing), and now my phone has successfully connected the last 4 times I got in my car, which is further than I ever got before.

I am having issues with mine. 2016 M2 and my iPhone 6 was just fine. Downloading 0.2 software update and hopefully this fixes it. It pairs and plays music for about 5 minutes then stops.

Typically it plays wherever I left off from the last time I was listening, but occasionally for some reason it decides to go to "all songs" and start with the first song in alphabetical order from my library.

it does this if you totally closed out of the music app (double click, swipe up on it). I've always noticed this and was like wtf. but realized if I left it open in the background, it will play where it left off.

Anyone having trouble connecting there 7/7+ to bluetooth headphones? My phone is on 10.0 and won't connect at all to my bluetooth headphones whereas my 6+ would connect almost instantly.

Just got off the phone with apple after running diagnostics and the bluetooth area passed so we believe the issue is software related. I'm currently on 10.0 so now installing 10.0.2 and hopefully will resolve the issue.

EDIT: 10.0.2 did not resolve the issue. Phone still fails to pair with Bluetooth headphones.

EDIT2: Ok so I discovered this was an issue with the pairing process of my headphones. The bluetooth was actually working all along.

I have had a few issues trying to pair older bluetooth speakers to the iPhone 7Plus. My foxLv2 Platinum just would not pair no matter how long I let them try. I turned off every bluetooth device I have (MacBook Air, iPad Air), turned off bluetooth and restarted it on both devices, nothing. Strangely, this morning, after about 5 minutes of searching, the iPhone FINALLY paired with the foxL and is working well. No idea why it took so long. I've been trying to pair these two devices for 2 days. I'm thinking it is more an iOS issue than a hardware issue. I'm on the 10.1 beta.

I returned my 7+ and keeping my 6s+ for this issue. When apple fixes this and hissing noise i may consider buying it again.

No issues with Mercedes COMAND
No issues with Toyota EnTune.

I don't own a BMW so I don't know, and I know this sounds ridiculous but did you try restoring the phone or forgetting the Bluetooth device and re-pairing it?

Other BT devices I also use that connect fine:

Miura m010 card reader
Square Contactless and Chip reader
Motorola Bluetooth headset from about 10 years ago.- happy about this one as it had trouble connecting with my 6!

I do not have problems pairing my earbuds, but I am having issues with subsequent connection attempts. I have to delete the device, pair again, then they will connect. This started with iOS 10.0 and is unresolved in 10.0.2 for me as well.

Same issues with my 2013 Elantra. Ugh.

2010 GMC terrain, will pair, but that is it. I am using a iphone 7 Plus, does not work. It worked fine with every iphone for past 6 years. This included the 6s+ with ios 10. My girlfriends 7 also will not work. Apple has too many issues with iphone 7. Might take it back and stay with the 6Plus.

I have had a few problems pairing in my Audi

Took ages to pair and get occasional drop outs in music.

noticed that music initially plays at low bit rate then increases. Also I can now reliably fast forward and rewind music - not sure if this is 7 or ios10

This is a big deal for me. If I can't stream music from my phone I might have to return my phone. I drove an hour away and an hour back last night where I could not listen to my music and my fm radio stations did not work where I was going to. My new 7 plus is good looking, but if my 6s plus streams music and my new phone does not I am returning this phone.

Any Elantra owners also not able to change tracks with the steering wheel controls?

I listen to music via the USB cable with a lighting adapter. Worked fine since my iPhone 5. I can use controls on the steering wheel to change tracks. Not so much with my iPhone 7 and the stock music app.

Oh guess what does work with the steering wheel controls? Google play music.

I fired off an angry email to Tim and Phil this morning. Will deal with Apple support directly tomorrow

After I responded the other day with no issues my Camry with entune gave me issues last night. Played music"plugged in" for a few songs as I needed to charge on the way to hospital with my daughter and then the song froze. Tried unplugging, turning phone on and off, tried going thru Bluetooth. No luck. Only thing I didn't try was turning the car off and back on as I didn't have time to mess with it. Hopefully it was just a fluke since I have streamed fine ever since I got the 7 on release day..

I've been having problems with my 2014 Toyota FJ and my 7+. My 6s+ running 10.0 was fine. 7+ on 10.0.1 sometimes cuts out, and sometimes stops displaying track info and just says "streaming audio." The controls are laggy or sometimes don't work at all.
