BluAffiliate, "taking too long" compared to what? It's only been a month (from your posting). The last iphone to be jailbroken in less than a month was the 3GS on ios 3.0 4 years ago?

iPhone 4 = 38 days
iPhone 4S = 98 days
iPhone 5 = 136 days

Why would the developers waste exploits for an older version of iOS.

I don't know, cause lots of folks are sitting on 6.1.3 & 6.1.4 waiting for the untethered JB? I read on a rumors site that it would be available *hopefully by the end of the year, (but u know how them rumor sites are) ;)

If they do release anything else for iOS 6 it will likely only include exploits that won't be needed for an iOS 7 jailbreak. After a new OS version comes out that becomes their priority.

I haven't read/heard anything official so that's just my opinion on it.

As far as I know, the rumored 6.1.3/6.1.4 jailbreak is for A4 devices only and is not being developed by the evaders but some other hacker(s). All higher devices are waiting for the evaders to release the iOS 7.x jailbreak.

Bump. Still no jail break.

Still no 7.1, either. Not a coincidence. Again, this time last year there was no such thing as evad3rs and planetbeing hadn't even started working on a public jailbreak.

There hasn't been much word recently, I'll grant you that. Maybe they haven't had much free time recently. Maybe they hit a snag and there's no point in reporting no progress. Maybe they are making progress but don't want to be pestered like Lois in that episode of Family Guy where Stewie goes, "Mommy...mommy...mommy...mommy...mummy...mummy...mummy...mama...mama...mama...mama...mama...mama...ma...ma...ma...ma...ma...ma...Lois...Lois..." by all the people waiting on a jailbreak.

Remember, no word doesn't mean no jailbreak. Planetbeing's been pretty up front that if they get to the point where they know it's not going to happen, they will tell us.

I sincerely wish that they would charge for the jailbreak. I wish they could set up a site, and have a paypal button or something that they could charge 20 bucks which would allow you to download the jailbreak, and maybe remember your login for future downloads (like cydia or app store).

If they charged 20 bucks per person that downloads each jailbreak (which could be used on multiple devices like (most) cydia and app store downloads) then they could make some real money doing what they love, we would get the jailbreaks faster, and 20 bucks (or whatever) is a real nominal fee. I still remember paying apple 10 bucks for ios upgrades back in the day, and while noon wishes to part with their money, nobody works for free.

Anyone that says it isn't worth paying for would be free not to purchase the product (that a lot of us love and use and enjoy).

Problem is, this would be on all the bittorent sites immediately. Most people who are smart enough to know how to jailbreak their phone would be smart enough to figure out how to get it for free.

Funny it is easier for ppl to complain why it is not out yet, then contribute themselves, I for one am a developer and know what it takes.

Those complaining please lighten up, there is a lot of personal time devoted to this and unless you have something constructive to add, let them do their work at their speed.

Thumbs up my friend ##

I contribute money. And will continue to complain that my phone is not jailbroke

1. I'm pretty sure the poster meant the hackers, not apple. On that note, it would be really cool: http://blog.firmwareumbrella.com/2013/09/dear-apple-i-have-very-simple-request/
2. It's completely legal to jailbreak
3. Jailbreaking isn't all about pirating even though that's what people associate it with. There's functionality tweaks, theming, and the like

Yep! I pay for all my jailbreak tweaks/themes! That's really all I want the JB for, just a few tweaks and the customization.

To be honest, I don't think a paid jailbreak will make it release any faster

Me either. Even if it could be faster, I assume it would only be a little bit faster than the current release date. I never really bought into the argument that a paid jailbreak would get released faster than a free/donations version.

Don't forget the liability they would be facing as well...They would be instantly responsible for any damage their product caused.

Wow you feel that giving money gives you the right to demand something, hope that works for you because in the real world that does not get you far, maybe once or twice you might score something, but long term good luck.

There is a difference in donating and charging money.

Donating is a means of appreciation
Charging is selling a product or service.

The latter means you may expect something from the seller in return.

I don't think 'buying' a JB will speed up the process though, it is ready when it is ready, then i'll donate like i have done for all my JB's from 4.01 onward.

If they were selling the jailbreak (forget about the legal implications for now) and making enough money off of it, they wouldn't have to worry about their day jobs and probably be able to put more time into it. That would result in a jailbreak coming out faster. That's just my theory at least.
