I'm still on 10.0.2 and mine dropped out 4 times yesterday so I'm going to try the beta out and see

I lost track of this thread when it was merged with the others. Being that the new beta doesn't appear to resolve the issue, will it help to replace the phone or are people finding that replacement phones are prone to the same malady?
This doesn't appear to be happening on my wife's 7+ but it may be that she hasn't noticed it.

As stated many many times in the thread, replacement phones do not solve the issue. Some claim it does, but I'm convinced it's the same luck that I had last week when I went free of issues, but they eventually returned. Don't waste your time.

I'm really hoping they release 10.1 sooner than later. I can't run the beta because then my work email/calendar app will not work - it only works on production releases not betas.

I'm getting fed up with the drops - for me at least (maybe I'm being patient) but it always comes back within 1-2 mins tops. I never have toggled airplane mode or anything. I just turn the screen off and wait and boom within a minute or so it'll come back to LTE. Sometimes even faster.

As long as it doesn't stay in no service for a long period of time it is manageable but still extremely annoying.

iOS 10.1 beta 2 does appear to solve the issue for most people. Some seem to still have issues, but many of their descriptions talk about a different issue: When emerging from a dead zone, the phone reacquires to 1x/3G, and only acquires LTE after a short period of time. As a workaround, if Airplane Mode is toggled, LTE is reacquired immediately. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but it's known behavior; I've always had this issue with my old iPhone 6 VZW as far back as 2014.

The bug that this thread is dedicated to is that the iPhone will inexplicably drop signal even while in areas of strong LTE coverage, but only while LTE Voice (a.k.a VoLTE) is enabled. We think it's a bug related to a hand-off issue from tower-to-tower. iOS 10.1 beta 2 seems to fix this issue for most.

But the issue of the iPhone taking awhile to acquire LTE after being in a dead zone (and preferring 1x/3G in the meantime) is a separate issue, and has been a common and longstanding issue for years now. Toggling AP mode will fix this issue. It will not fix the "No Service" bug.

Downloaded the beta yesterday. Didn't get get to put it to use until today.

I had continued LTE service today driving through an area (Northern State Parkway--Long Island, NY) where it previously dropped to No Service on multiple occasions. Fingers crossed the beta fixed it.

I did in fact replace my iPhone 7, and did not update the software. I'm on 10.0.1 and have had no issues. My 1st unit was plagued with LTE dropouts. I've had my replacement unit 3 days and use it heavily.

I've only been back in the country a few days and haven't had any dropouts except for once where it went to 3G but I had the phone in my pocket and that can hinder the signal so I'm not really counting that one. Is there an ETA on the release of the next update with carrier version 26?

Is anyone else experiening very slow LTE speeds when they have service?

Is anyone else experiening very slow LTE speeds when they have service?

I have had multiple times where my LTE coverage was 2-3 bars but my rates were well below normal, 1Mbps or lower. Also had apps tell me to check my internet connection at the same time. Im assuming it has to do with this overall loss of signal issue.

Yes, my speeds have been pretty bad ever since I got this 7+. I don't think I've seen over 10mb and usually average around 2-3 with good reception. It's just the nice cherry on top to all of these service issues..

I go to a place I know has excellent service to speed test new devices. This was from the night I got my 7 Plus. It is roughly 10% faster than my 6S Plus managed. And I have the connection issue as well (though not since I temporarily disabled VoLTE on the device until its fixed). In areas I know have sub-par service, I'd say speed is on par with my old phone. That said, there is absolutely something wrong so here's hoping Verizon and Apple fix this damn thing sooner rather than later.

I will say on 10.1 beta 2 I'm performing a. It better in spots that previously had the issue much worse though once I do drop usually need an airplane toggle to get lte back still but I do notice an improvement . 2 days in

Wow! I can only get 55-80 Mbps around here!

iOS 10.1 Beta 2 (14B67) shows a lot of promise, but the issue is not fully rectified.

Since I got my iPhone 7 // 256gb // Verizon 26.0 // Modem Firmware 1.24.00 --> The Lincoln Tunnel into NYC would always send me into 3G / 1X / No Service mode...and it would stay that way even outside of the tunnel and up the Port Authority's ramps.
  1. Today I had LTE the entire length of the Lincoln Tunnel into NYC! (y)
  2. I've accepted No Service on the #1 Subway headed downtown at 33rd Street...
  3. I would typically reacquire LTE on the platform getting off at 28th Street, or as I walk up the stairs...but today 1X stuck even while I was above ground just standing at the corner of 7th Avenue (n)
    • It did NOT pick up LTE when I turned Cellular Data off/on (n)
    • It did pick up LTE after I toggled Airplane Mode off/on...

How can I update to the beta? Do I need a developer account?

I was in Apple returning my 7 and a customer was asking an Apple person when he can schedule a Genius appointment. The Apple employee asked what was wrong. The customer replied that he is having poor service with his iPhone and he is on Verizon. The Apple employee said it's a Verizon issue and Apple has nothing to do with cell service. I cringed while listening to that conversation.

Speeds are great with beta 2
Wow. I've never had speeds that fast

I would have cringed also. That's terrible for the Apple employee to respond in that fashion.

That is fast. All on B2?

How this issue is being handled is embarrassing.
I agree. And for some reason the people from the Genius Bar are quick to blame Verzion if you are having any cell phone service problems sometimes there is something wrong with that phone. But Apple and Verzion should work together to solved this problem. This problem has been going on for like three weeks now.

I'm on 10.0.2 - I just tried enabling Roaming for Voice and Data. Both were off. Signal is stronger and more stable. This is based on possibility new bands/towers are probably not in PRL. Not sure it will be fixed but it did help my situation quite a bit.

Yes period to b2 was getting the dropouts and slow service now service is insanely fast
