According to the above post Apple has the nerve to use cheap Chinese batteries in its iPhones and you are saying its not their fault?
According to another post, Samsung battery division is the supplier and you are saying it’s apples fault? Have you seen the batteries in those phones? What is the country of manufacture? And Do you think Apple is only using one supplier?

That is to be determined. As of now no fires, which is the big thing.
[doublepost=1506797917][/doublepost]
It’s a bad sign but no fires. How do you know it’s not a supplier fault issue ie Samsung. You don’t. And given the note 7, I’m gonna say you have no clue what goes on behind the scenes.

Samsung doesn't supply the batteries. And I go by what I read and see. You don't have a clue either.

Samsung does not supply batteries for the iPhone. That was proven in the tear down videos and part numbers. Samsung for that matter gets batteries from other suppliers (hint the fire issues weren't their battery).

Apple isn't exempt from liability. They have a say in who they choose as a battery manufacturer. If they chose a known problematic company with past liability issues (Samsung's subsidiary for instance), then Apple is dealing with a bigger problem. Apple isn't on a pedestal. They can rush products or have design defects like any company. Ford issued a recall before: https://media.ford.com/content/ford...ecalls-and-two-safety-compliance-recalls.html

Don't early adopt, simple as that.

I never said they were exempt from liability. I was suggesting it may not be a design issue as the result of incomplete testing, no one will know until more is known about this.

This appears to be the battery supplier: https://www.atlbattery.com/en/contact.html the same company that supplied the battery of the note 7. Too much of a coincidence.

It could be incomplete testing because Apple could've rushed out products. NAND and DRAM might be on a shortage as well: https://9to5mac.com/2017/06/21/iphone-8-ram-flash-storage-chips/

Apple could be just using stuff right off the factory lines to get something out to sell asap. It's not looking good for Apple. But I would be a little more objective towards Apple's possible design defect and a possible product recall. They have had their fair share of design defects. This could be the earliest something this dangerous (or appears to be dangerous) could be caught on record.

Would be like buying a brand new car with no sat nav/bluetooth and having to buy a Garmin and stick it on the window.
That makes absolutely no sense as all the SD Card does is add more storage. What exactly is wrong with something that adds more function?

It would be more comparable to buying a car and expanding its luggage capacity without affecting the design, which I wouldn't mind at all.

Or the manufacturers of the product could have rushed this. I’m enjoying the “place the blame” game.:D

Whatever happens, it better be isolated and I hope nobody gets hurt because it's crazy to see what possibilities exist, G-d forbid.

Has this been posted here?

The slaughter continues... Great performance by S8+ followed by the Note8.

iPhones in desperate need of that update X,Y,Z.... That may or may not optimise them

How ugly is that watch. Most of these videos coming out of Korea by the sounds.
Oh man, sorry didn't notice the watch, I was too busy witnessing the iPhone's waiting for their update

Lol ugly?? It looks like a normal watch other than being smart.. Unlike the apple watch. It's a gear s3. Not sure why the forum keeps flipping the photo.

Wow that’s atrocious performance by the iPhone. What exactly did iOS 11 improve?

Yes of course it's not Apple's fault. Last year when samsung had their infamous battery issues and they were trying to work out where the faulty batteries were coming from, they could not place the blame on a third party manufacturer who was making some of their batteries. No samsung had to shoulder the blame. However now that it's Apple they are allowed to push the blame off somewhere else.

Is there any QC going on at Apple or do they actual do nothing with the manufacturing of their phones?

Is it a case of getting others to make the phone and then wheeling out Johnny Ives and acting like they have re-invented the wheel?

I love my gear 3 but the Apple watch is my favorite smart watch Tbh. Just like the interface better.

The biometrics are a problem with this phone for many users. And on top of that I wear glasses so he iris scanning is a problem and the fo sensor isn't in a good location at the back. As expected the phone is perfect in everything except unlocking. I hope iPhone X FaceID does better as this kills the enjoyment of any phone.

Not for me when you can custom how you want to unlock your phone with so many things.

there's clearly bugs that need to be sorted.
Just look at that 7 Plus though. Its on 7% while the S8 Plus is on 54% at the end. Something is seriously wrong here. It matches my experience because I cant get through a whole day of heavy use on my 7plus on iOS 11. My battery wear level is at 97% according to Coconut Battery so that cant be it. What with the iPhone 8 losing to Note 8 in every test and even battery life being below average, quality control has taken a nosedive at Apple. This is a horrible release.

Makes me wonder what kind of issue the X will come with. Its pretty much guaranteed to have one at this point

Another video shows similar performance with 8 Plus at 18% and S8 Plus at 42%
