No, just that adding display real estate doesn't INHERENTLY mean added functionality. Of course, the functionality can come and can be aided by a larger screen.

TouchID and a larger display are not analogous in my mind. Preference or not.

Still don't understand what your point is about large screens. Oh well.

Yeah the bluetooth stack in iOS is an utter total joke! It'll be interesting to see how well t works with Apple Play, but then again that's Apple, ignore what the industry does and has working fine with no problems and make their own broken system no one wants..

It's a sore point with me, trying to get POS iOS working with my Ford was a right pain, every single time Apple updated iOS they broke the bluetooth.

IOS 8.1.3 Bluetooth:

- streams to my car as audio device and phone, check
- connects to my apple tv, check
- connects to my Panasonic home phone check
- can connect multiple keyboards and headsets to iphone, check

Everybody has a different experience and somehow even different manufacturers have connection issues. It's not like apple is the only one with connection issues to cars Bluetooth.

haha, I could point out all those other iOS 8 bugs... but my experience was with iOS 5 and 6 and yes it WAS Apples fault, and it affected cars like BMW's as well.

Nope, it's all "POS" ;-) .

Absolutely it is.

Apple's strong quarter puts a strain on the entire android industry from device sales to components.

Android makers better bring their A game for 2015.

No they don't, most of the sales came from China, the market it just entered! Plus iPad sales dropped by a fifth. I suggest they put some of their cash pile into shifting more iPads.
In terms of market share, Samsung has more than Apple, worldwide Apple has a long way to go to be number one:

Number one? That's a juvenile way of seeing things, and somewhat detached from the significant shifts going on in the mobile sphere. And "number one" means a lot of things in business and market share isn't the most important.

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1842112/

While the Apple executives are high fiving and counting their bonuses, Samsung's trying to find a way to stop the downward spiral as they get squeezed by the Chinese, big screen iPhones globally, and higher quality efforts by HTC and LG.

You should happy these conditions exist. Already there is talk of higher build quality Samsung phones like their A series, the return of the Exynos, which made the Galaxy S2 the monster it was, and less devices being dumped on the market, which should be mean better/faster support due to more focused resources.

And number one does not mean relying on a single product to keep your business afloat. Also it's huge quarter was due to China, which won't last for ever. With iPad sales dropping Apple wouldn't be considered as number one by many.

Interesting article on them here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-31012410

Also in phones shipped, Apple has remained stagnant, it hasn't shipped anymore now than it did last year according to the latest figures, they have not damaged Samsung, but the other competitors have. That is what matters just as much, market share and numbers shipped.

I don't care much for Samsung, but it is annoying with the people on here turning a blind eye to facts, great Apple made tons of money, again, on the back of a single device!
i know we need all these different competitors so we get better devices. Still think nothing will beat the iPhone 4, shame it's camera was rubbish. But I realise the competition is the sole reason they made the iPhone 6 Plus, because everyone was buying Android, I also think Jobs would never have made a 6 Plus.

Hmm, here are the full retail prices for a few phones:

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 - 32GB max internal - 825.99

Samsung Galaxy S5 - 16GB max internal - 649.99

Nexus 6 - 32GB max internal - 682.99

HTC One (M8) - 32GB max internal - 669.99

LG G3 - 32GB max internal - 478.99

iPhone 6 - 64GB internal - 749.99

iPhone 6 plus - 64GB internal -
.

Except all these phones have SD Card slots to expand their storage. Thus enhancing their value and cost effectiveness.

Except the iPhone's. They have fixed storage and no expand ability. No way to access the storage they do have. As they have no file system.

Except that as the Apple blockbuster financials prove not everybody has the same value system.

Those are ATT prices not MSRP. ATT has been gouging since they introduced NEXT. They're a bunch of crooks. Bolded are the prices for those now.

While I don't consider Android a good enough OS to use on a daily basis, I definitely don't want to see total "iPhone domination". A lot of the features and advancements Apple has made came from the need to compete.

Market share never paid any company's bills. The term you're looking for is "profit" and in that metric, which the only one that really matters, there's a massive drop off between #1 Apple and everyone else.

That's the reason you're seeing Samsung shuffling executives, restructuring their business, and scrambling for new ideas. While Apple is sitting fat off the most successful quarter ever recorded in corporate history.

Wow you're really struggling all over the place, worse now than before. Something in all this tells me that you're more of a "fanboy" than anyone else around here.

I really didn't get you here. Apple sold 74.5 Million units in Q4 2014 which if compared YoY was 51 Million units in Q4 2013. So how did Apple sales 'remained stagnant' as compared to last year if they sold precisely 23.5 Million units more than last year?

Yeah I was about to say the same thing reading that. I would be interested to hear an answer to that too. Apple have 2 flagship phone's this time around so have made a bigger leap in sales as expected. How can anybody say that haven't done as well as Q4 in 2013?

Apple have been able to expand on sales because they have two devices not a single device at the top of the current market.

That's an interesting statement. I can see people not liking it, but how exactly is it not good enough for a daily driver? I wonder how I've been managing the past two years. Plenty of professionals use both os'

A lot of features and advancements apple has made are heavily influenced by android :p ftfy :) (touch Id aside)

I concur with his assessment.

Not suitable (for me) as a daily driver.

1) Often times I would go to use my phone and it would either be: out of charge or had some kind of panic and needed the battery pulled to reset.

2) Force closing of applications.

3) Having to pull the battery.

I rooted and flashed ROMs to try and fix this behavior. It would happen weekly. Sometimes daily.

I used Android for 2 years. Had enough and went back to my iPhone with the 5S.

Not suitable for a daily driver.

Well fwiw I do not experience those things using GS 4 google edition. Very stable for me. I was not using android during the time period you were.

I have never done a battery pull, no roms,

Those sound like touchwiz problems, considering really only Samsung has removable batteries.

No.

It wasn't touchwiz.

I opted for the Galaxy Nexus series because I didn't want any bloat and wanted a 'pure' experience.

It was horrible.

Then tried the Note and it just made the experience worse because of the added touchwiz layer.

Well I don't know what to say, I do not have those issues on current releases. From 4.2.2 to 5.0

Don't think anyone would be using android if we all had that experience
