The old design with the broadest mass appeal from historical sales figures, with an affordable trim level. SE was always that.So not the Mini reborn?
No, the Mini stays where it belongs: the grave. Nobody wants a Mini phone which is why Apple cancelled it. If you want a small phone then get this new SE when it comes out?So not the Mini reborn?
I’m SE’s target market. I don’t buy show ponies. I buy important features. My wife likes large screens and creates and edits online content. She goes for the Pro Max and I support her.I refused to buy an SE because of the insanely ugly bezels and tiny screen. I will never buy any phone under 6.1".
It's good to see Apple updating to a modern design with a proper sized display!
Maybe by the time I upgrade from my 15 Pro Max we'll have a new SE. Around 2026 maybe? I wouldn't mind going back to a notched phone but I assume the "2026" SE will have the dynamic island and be 6.3" which is even better.

The 8 Plus sold more than the 8 though, no?The old design with the broadest mass appeal from historical sales figures, with an affordable trim level. SE was always that.
What’s especially crazy is that the current SE is using a tweaked version of the iPhone 6 design, which will be 10 years old this fall.
Excuse me while I go fondle an iPhone 6 I have sitting in a drawer, now that was a killer design.
Apple Should price this at $499, and release a Mini a year later at $399. Thereby bumping the iPhone SE to effectively $499 while continue to claim the SE range starts at $399. If Apple and the market data are right then $399 Mini wouldn't even make much of the sales anyway because everyone wants bigger phones. This also keeps the minority of us who wants a Mini.
Doesn't the iPhone 8 look just like the iPhone 6, other than re-routed antenna lines and a glass back?
Still just a difference of back glass though, appearance-wise. The back glass is also a result of adding wireless charging. The back glass and addition of wireless charging makes it look and feel much more modern than the 6 though.
You could argue the same about the iPhone 4 vs 5 though - minor adjustments to the body and back but effectively the same design language.Still just a difference of back glass though, appearance-wise. The back glass is also a result of adding wireless charging.
Absolutely no chance given the regular iPhone is 60HZ.Give it a 120Hz display and I'm sold. Yes RIP smaller phones but if you're not still carrying that torch this sounds like a good phone.
More secure, works with gloves on, attention aware screen locking is really good, generally more reliable in my experience, just generally cooler.Better? How? My Touch ID has worked perfectly for years with zero problems whatsoever. What's the problem? Why does the new iPad mini I bought for my wife just months ago still have Touch ID on the power button?

How dare you call me nobody! 😆Very simple, Apple knows the Mini phones don't sell as well as the larger models. Why would they infest in designing a smaller model if nobody is going to buy it? That's just bad business practice.

I've got a Pixel 6a and a 2022 iPhone SE. The lowly LCD display on the iPhone SE never has a problem scrolling but the Pixel 6a with its amazing OLED display (that I can't read outside), stutters when scrolling. For now. At least give us 90Hz. It's like they're running low on Hz so they gotta ration them out. Android took them all!

The trouble is that Apple will not buy 1080p or 2160p displays, for whatever reason. They could buy the same displays OnePlus uses (that are very wide) that I find most appealing, but Apple want to go their own way.Oh believe me I know it's not all about the paper specs. That's why despite my griping, my 13 Pro isn't going anywhere.
I just think Apple could afford to bring up the refresh rate floor. Maybe I'm wrong. One day.
If you like a bendable phone.

Internal documents reveal Apple knew the iPhone 6 was more likely to bend than previous models
Turns out #bendgate was realwww.theverge.com
Smaller is a byproduct of being a low-cost iPhone. Apple will be increasing the size of iPhone 16 Pro to 6.3-inches and the regular iPhone 17 will follow.
