Requested mine on the 9th and got the text about an hour ago.

3G Pay Monthly owner that upgraded to the (PAYG) 3Gs in June.

Will try another sim in it when I get home.

Same here for my wife's iPhone. Popped an Orange sim in the phone and synced with iTunes. Unlocked!!! :D

finally got my text about an hour ago
o2 contract
registered for unlock on 9th

O2 must hate me.

:D

Well I have finally had a reply from O2 - they have refused to unlock my iPhone!:mad: Most likely because the iPhone was originally not owned by me, so now I am going to have to get the original owner to fill the form out :(

Liam

Well I had a recent turn of events earlier, had another text from O2 come through an hour ago - "Your iPhone is now unlocked" :D Did not get my hopes up untl I did a restore through iTunes & once the restore was done, eagily waited for the activation process to finish & then it froze for a second and then the carrier update came through! then instantly came up with the "Congratulations, Your iPhone is now unlocked" :D Very strange how they refused me on saturday though! I did submit the form 3 times though and I submitted the second one 7 days after the first one. Anyway now using my iPhone on Orange legitimately!

I did not restore and its working fine.... Nothing in itunes tells you to restore, so its not necessary..

I've not had to restore and I think I'm unlocked.... I didn't get the screen saying I was unlocked, my iphone changed to slide for emergency, and i thought, gah, i'll have to restore, so I put my o2 sim back in, and synced so I had a proper/current backup.

I then put an orange sim in, and it just worked, so I tried with a 3(three) sim, and that worked no problems. Found an old t-mobile sim payg, in a sealed pack, but that won't pick up a network.. maybe it could be cos it is old and t-mob have disconnected it... but hey ho... i think i'm unlocked.

Will pick up a voda sim to check signal in the next day or so...

Good evening to you all.

I bought my iPhone outright over 12 months ago. For this duration I have used the Simplicity 20 tarriff.

When news arrived that the iPhone could be unlocked I was very pleased due to the fact that my vodafone sim on my Blackberry work phone always got a much much better 3G signal in my works office , & to an extent at my home (even though connected via wifi at home)

Anyway , registered for unlock 7 days ago. Received text from 02 this evening saying I'm unlocked.

Inserted Vodafone sim , hooked up to iTunes & about 2 mins later informed im officially unlocked.

Working fine & very pleased.

Regards James

Spoke to O2 CS at about 4:00pm and they couldn't understand why I hadn't received my unlock code

However they then said that since the 10th was the opening day, i had to wait till end of 24th before they would escalate the issue up a level. i tried to point out that start of 10th to end of 24th was actually 15 days, but CS agent didn't seem to grasp that point :D:D

Just so you can all hate me...

I filled in the form for the first time yesterday evening, after dinner, so about 9pm.

I got off the tube at about 6.30 and i got the "Unlocked text".

Well done o2, less than 24hours!!

I am on an iPhone 3G £45/m contract and bought a 32GB 3GS on launch and activated with my existing sim.

I feel sorry for those of you who filled in the form on the 9th...!

They have just unlocked me....

I filled in the forms with my old 3G details but use that sim in my 3GS... wonder if i can try and see if they will unlock my 3GS now with the same number....?!!

(The wife uses my 3G now btw)

Filled the form in for the second time last night and voila, got my second unlock text today.... LOL

So i know have both my iPhones unlocked and ready to go!!!

I filled in the form on the 10th and finally got my unlock text about 4 this afternoon.

3gs bought on PAYG on launch day. Am now on Orange SIM testing the signal, will try Voda SIM/signal before I decide where to port my number......

Hmnn, going to have to give that a go. I have my jailbroken PAYG 3GS unlocked by submitting that in place of the original 3G. Not tried to unlock the original phone yet.

Finally got mine today at 17:34 - having submitted the first request on the 9th and another one a few days ago. I reckon that the ones at the start were processed offline in a backlog process.

I have a question though - I have a jailbroken 3GS - how should I best activate my unlock. Should I do a DFU restore first? Any ideas you guys?

i just restored and set up as new iPhone

that's because i have no need for the jailbreak now...

I've got my fingers crossed that mine will come through today! This threads turned into a bit of a support group for those who've not heard yet lol :D

Bloody hell. I filled out my form on the 10th. Redid the form two days ago and still nothing.

I am on a contract and near then end of it. I'll be ringing and I'll be blasting O2.

And cancelling my contract.

I bought a new 3gs on contract two weeks ago and applied last week. Got the unlock yesterday night, and tried it and it's unlocked.

Now to get the my paygo 3g unlocked, which should be possible in a couple of weeks, assuming they can work out that I had it replaced by apple last weekend.

Another first day requestor here who's heard nothing yet. 3GS on PAYG on my 3G contract, so contract expires Jan. Keen to unlock since I have a US trip next month where a PAYG SIM would be very useful. Also I get no O2 reception at home, so plan to spend the next month playing around with some PAYG SIMs to work out where to port my number once my contract's up.

Submitted another request yesterday, so we'll wait and see. Partner submitted on Saturday, no response to him yet either.
