What a great pooch :) :D

Not mine unfortunately. My next door neighbour, my smoking buddy, got the new pooch last week. When we're outside having a drink/smoke, the little guy just runs around our feet playing while we chat.

I wouldn't have got that shot, if it wasn't for the double tap on home button.

I can't tell you how many times this feature was used on my travels to Southeast Asia. Caught so many wonderful moments thanks to the reliability and quickness of this feature.

I didn't see much difference between the 6 and 6 Plus to be honest. A steady hand in low light and with the digital stabilisation on the 6 as opposed to OIS I found they were quite similar in their results. What sort of conditions were you in when it was hugely noticeable?

There was a thread in here a while back where both were tested outdoors at night and the user found differences but very little. My experience at a wedding a few months ago gave me the chance to see them side by side too.

BTW, one of the things the double-tap quick camera launch helped me to capture on my journeys?

This totally legit Apple store ;):

It's great to have all of these samples so we can see how good the pictures from all cell phone cameras really are.

That is a great picture! What a beautiful place! Thank goodness the S6 was able to capture all that beauty!

Thanks. I photographed my entire trip (except for underwater moments; that's when I used the GoPro!) to capture every moment of my journey. Not once did I feel I needed to pull out my Canon point-and-shoot (RIP!).

I'm still going through the thousands of photos and so far virtually all of them are stunning. This camera delivered beyond my wildest imaginations. The iPhone 6 camera is great, but this is beyond. Ease of use; quickness; reliability; photo quality; extra features... all superior to any smartphone I've ever used.

i jus tested teh 6, 6+ and s6 around the office with my phone and a few co-workers phones

and you are right, the overall differences are so minor. in the pure detail, the S6 was edging out.

in the mixed lightning of the office (some offices have windows, some are darker, and all have different flaurescent lights). I noticed, where the iPhone 6 started to lose out was some of the lesser lit areas. I'm not talking about "dark", but just not, directly in the sun. I think this is due to the lack of OIS, where some of the details started to be less noticable and a little quality. the 6+ and S6 were able to keep up.

I'm not talkin about dramatic differences. here. if you get an iPhone or S6, you wil have a great mobile camera

Also loving the slow motion capture, but can't upload those videos :D

its really a physics problem preventing a good larger sensor. I agree though, Larger sensor 'buckets', better photo. more light = better photo. simple as that

problem is as they increase the size of the sensor, your lense array also needs to get bigger, and more importantly, the focal length gets deeper.

this is pretty much against the "thinner is better" mantra of smartphones today. But it's why Lumia's tend to do very well still in camera showdowns. those thicker bodies tend to have bigger, thicker lense setups for bigger sensors.

I do think however, 8mpx isn't enough anymore. For photos, sure, fine. But when you move into 10mpx+ you give the ability of recording in 4k Video. While it might seem "gimmicky", anybody who takes video for long term storage will tell you, record in the highest possible available quality at all times so that in the future, your stuff doesn't look like crap.
Agree that its a physics problem and thin phones are working against a larger sensor implementation. But there is still room for improvement as far a lens groups go, 5-6 lens groups can be reduced to 3-4, but I dont know what the trade off is.

The greater point is, higher MP is being touted as an improvement and the opposite of that is true. A quick look at the pictures will show the aggressive noise reduction in the bokeh, which means even in daylight NR has to work hard.

MP is the new MHZ. bigger numbers impress people.

anyone who knows photography, will just laugh. I've still got my first ever DSLR, 6.2mpx, with APS-C sensor, and the photos from it, while lacking in detail, rival anything even high MPX cameras produce today.

the difference is, I have to frame my shot better cause there's no Cropping later! I've since upgraded to a 10mpx 40D.

the 6+ is a much better camera than the regular 6, which is what was used in the comparison. the 6+ is arguably the best camera phone in the market. Followed by the S6 and iphone 6 who are basically neck and neck.

No...it isn't, but the iPhone pics are smaller and lose detail easily when manipulated. Just so happens the S6 has a dramatically better sensor and larger photos to work with without losing detail and creating noise.

And no one is talking about DSLR. We are talking about smartphones. Conflating the two is pathetic deflection to sugarcoat Apple's performance lapse compared to the S6.

This isn't a subjective singular opinion either. It's a consensus.

But the galaxy s5,note 4 and galaxy s6 all kept it 16mp and I'm willing to bet the note 5 stays at 16mp as well

They have kept the mega pixels the same for the last 2 years almost and made advancements else where.
