It's the new iPhone. If my iPhone X were lost or stolen, I would immediately replace it with another iPhone X.

Apple has exceeded expectations !!

It’s obvious that Face ID was a work in progress for a few years. But it was worth the wait......Not that we had a choice

I am really enjoying the iPhone X having come from a 7 Plus. The Face ID still seems like magic and works perfectly for me 100% time. Never once have I had to enter passcode except after re-starting. The gestures I find much better and in particular I love the swipe sidewards across bottom to switch apps.

While the full screen display I find really immersive. I use the X a lot more than I have previous iPhones as it is such a pleasure to use. Initially critical of the notch, in real life use it has not worried me at all. Also I thought the display might be too narrow, but have found fine with it more comfortable in the hand than the Plus.

With the iPhone X and 12.9” iPad Pro I feel I have all I need wherever I might be working. My MacBook Air now seems antiquated and outdated and I don’t use if I can avoid which is most of the time. It now only comes out a handful of times per year.

Obsessed. I do wish the phone was the size of the 8. Haha. Didn’t realize it was big. My old Plus was huge so. Any complain.
Pictures are amazing every time.

Only had it for a couple days but i'm in love. It doesn't feel like a phone at all, but something else entirely. The only annoying thing has been the new gestures. Don't get me wrong, i'm totally ok with the home button gone, not difficult to adapt to this new design, but i hate not knowing how to use my phone. The biggest thing for me with Apple products is that once you learn how to use them you'll know how to use them all, no matter the gen or model. But here i am, trying like crazy to figure out how to access multitask and not understanding why the camera/flashlight buttons on my home screen appear to be broken?! (turns out they work with Force 3D! They feel amazing tbh so not pissed anymore).

Anyone notice a big difference in camera (compared to to the 8s, 7s, or even the 6's)?

I have a 6+ so I am due for an upgrade big time. Camera is important to me since it'll be my main photo taker.

I love my iPhone X but I’m bummed by the fact that the unit I bought had a faulty pinkish display. I’ve never had to send in for a replacement any of my previous iPhones save my iPhone 5 which had a swollen battery after its warranty expired, and was given an iPhone 6 as a replacement. But then again, Apple does have an awesome after-sales service.

The X's camera (and overall performance -think speed executing commands including loading web pages) is far better than my 6 Plus. Not a lot of difference (camera and display screen quality only) compared to an 8 Plus which I only kept for a week but still enough difference to spend a few hundred more considering I keep phones for two years minimum before buying a new one.

love it! i was getting my iPhone 7 ready to sell this morning and found it to be so small. I really enjoyed my 7, but the X is the right move for me. FaceID works every time. i have completely forgotten about the lack of home button, which i always disliked..

Just got the X couple days ago!! I’m impressed! I pissed on the whole facial Id gimmick but I’m digging it. Screen is very nice and I enjoy taking photos with this beauty. Would I pay $1k for it? Hell no but thanks to Sprint I’m only paying $650 for her

I think if somebody takes advantage of other carrier promotions, then the iPhone X truly is a good price with other trade-ins. Especially that some carriers are offering $300 discounts with certain phones being traded in, then it drops the price considerably.

Love:
the full screen design, unlike some I like the notch, it’s the X’s signature look.

Hate:
the aspect ratio of the screen. On paper its bigger than the 8 plus. However, actual usage, the screens more like an 8 in landscape mode.

No permanent battery percentage, Bluetooth/vpn status displayed (need to swipe down into control center). Wtf, couldn’t they have redesigned the battery icon.

Things that are 50/50 aka meh for me:
Gestures vs physical home button
FaceID vs TouchID
New emojis
Protruding vertical dual camera lense

Hoping the X plus next year will address my hates so I can upgrade then

Do you really though? Really?
Up until a month ago navigating an iPhone via the home button was standard practise for all of us. Even 2 of the latest iPhones still use this technology, yet it’s talked about like it’s inferior and almost prehistoric.

I’m sure people like me with my ancient 6S are hilarious to the elite, but it’s still just a different method to achieve the same outcome. iOS still looks the same beyond these super cool features.

He’s exaggerating a bit, but the new swipe gestures are really good and you get used to them really fast. Especially if, alongside the X, you have an iPad with iOS 11, you do start swiping from the bottom edge on all devices really soon.

But the 6S is still a really great phone, don’t worry about it. Used mine all until recently and, honestly, could’ve easily used it for a year or two more.

My wife has had it for 3 weeks. Almost wanted to trade for my 8+ but I don’t want the X. She likes the size. She hates FaceID.

I love mine, but will be happy when/if they release a larger screen version. And I really hope they somehow enable FaceID to work with the phone in Landsape. Oh, and remove the camera bump already;).

Love the design,
Love the screen,
Love the gestures,
Coming from a 6S: love the haptics,
Love the camera,
Love the battery life,
Really love Face ID and all the awareness features.

Not sure about the weight, but I got used to it quickly.

Still haven’t tried Qi charging.

Yes, now with iOS 11 I navigate on my iPad Pro almost entirely with gestures. To me it seems more natural and fluid. I only touch the home button for Touch ID to open. Look forward to Face ID on the iPad Pro in the future

You must try. That is something else I have found more useful than initially expected. I naturally put my X on charging pad whenever not using, so unless I am out for the day with no charging, battery percentage rarely drops below 80% for me. Even after a day out in use without charging, I have not seen battery drop below 60% - while my wife’s 6s Plus battery died in the same period with similar use. I think the incredible battery life of the X is partly due to the screen going black after only 30 seconds if I am not looking at it. That is a nice feature of Face ID. Saves battery and stops phone being live in my pocket making unintentional calls as I had happen a number of times with my previous 7 Plus.

Same here on both counts. Love the gestures on iPhone and iPad. And I am surprised by how much I love wireless charging. I knew it would be convenient, but by having a few charging pads around I can just always keep my phone charged so easily. It’s great

Ordered two Ravpower chargers, so I’ll try soon enough :) Thanks for the post.

One question I was going to ask in a separate post later - is it ok to put and remove a phone from a charger many times a day? Because I often pick up my phone during the day, if I leave it on charger it would be like plugging in a lightning cable 20 times a day. I guess it’s not an issue, but still thought I might ask if anyone has any more information.

I found the usable screen size for videos to be a big disappointment. I just Jumped (tmobile) back to a Note 8. Face ID worked great most of the time, other's very frustrating- in bed Or car, or if phone was on a table. The camera was amazing and will be missed. I do look forward to bigger size and improved face id next year.

No you just like to buy outdated hardware, it's technology is actually more than 2 years old.

Life's too short to be using 2 yr old hardware.
That silly and sales driving argument is the core message of tech Marketing departments around the world. Addicting behavior defined.

I need to Google Ravpower. BTW, Ikea has cheap charging pads.

Charging - yes, on/off frequency will not affect service life of the battery. And as a plus, there's no mechanical wear with inductive charging. If you have a wireless pad, drop it on and take it off as often as you wish.

Aspect ratio... there's a funny, and not so funny, post on trying to figure out what screen size actually means today here:https://www.theverge.com/tldr/2017/3/30/15120824/screen-aspect-ratio-mathematics-galaxy-s8-lg-g6

Ravpower gets good user scores and is often recommended on most “top chargers” lists. As for IKEA, I know, I was about to get them but they are all sold out in our local IKEA until january, so I went with similarly priced Ravpower.
