Happens a lot especially when the phone is in a car dock and I’m trying to turn the phone off.

Maybe a couple of accidental ones, but not when holding it myself in normal use Generally did it when I've got it in my car and I've gone to pick it up, and where I store it, one side pushes against something and I accidentally click the power button at the same time. No big deal.

No way can I be the only one here.. anyone find themselves taking a screen shot of the phone when picking it up? I'm thinking Apple should make it to you press the volume button and touch the screen and power button at the same time.. sometimes I grab my phone from the top if I'm walking towards it and it screen shots.

Does doing this solve the OP's problem, (i.e. disables the regular method), or did you just want to share how you take screenshots?

It will definitely solve the problem of taking screen shot accidentally while picking it up

How do you do that?

Hi mike

You go setting, general, accessibility and assistive touch

There are menus to assign commands on your assistive touch like the screen captured i took

I tried that but it still takes a screen shot when pressing the power and vol up buttons.

I’ve yet to have an accidental screenshot, since launch day. Guess I just don’t throttle the top of the phone much.

It's happened to me a few times and I've never taken screen shots before on my other phones intentionally.

Quite the opposite for me. In fact I don’t even understand how you’re all doing this by accident.

For me I find that I have to fumble slightly to take a screen shot. Finding the volume up button takes a slight bit of extra time. I actually wish they used the volume down button instead. That is so much easier to quickly find by just sliding up the side of the phone.

My fingers naturally fall upon the volume up and power button when holding the X.

Perhaps your hand size (I'm not knocking you, just pointing out everyone is different :) ) is such that that doesn't occur, but it seems many of us, it does

I dunno I guess I just hold my phone much closer to the bottom. Having my thumb and index or middle fingers way up there during normal usage just feels incredibly awkward and unsecure, like it’s just gonna slide right out of my hand. I mean just trying it right now, it literally does start to slide down, due to the weight and the stainless steel and glass being so smooth. I just can’t figure out what I’m missing here.

Like I said if I’m walking to my phone I grab the top part to pick it up and my fingers fall right on the buttons which then takes a screenshot
