Maybe with a software update they can include Touch ID with no home button? Don’t know.

Yeah that would be great if they could just re-enable Touch ID behind the oled, software update the battery to a higher capacity, the lightning connector to USB-C, make the back glass replaceable (a'la 4S) and finally revert back to the software version that will allow for the 3.5mm audio-jack to grow back...

I don’t even notice the notch.

I almost didn't get this phone because I was worried about the notch and face id. I legitimately haven't noticed the notch for more than the first 5 seconds while using google chrome. This is by far the best phone I have ever had and I absolutely love it. All the things that I thought would be annoying, are the things I like about it now that I have it in my hand. I might even upgrade my work phone on my own dime just because the 6S+ seems archaic in comparison. The bezels on the 8/8+ look so dated now. I'll take the notch over a huge bezel design any day!

I’m super happy with my X...my main concerns are software related. I really dislike the camera.app - they’ve done absolutely nothing to make use of the larger display so all we have is big black gaos between each toggle. As mentioned the grey space below the keyboard doesn’t look great but I think it’s probably there to keep things free for the home slider thingy (it really should have an official name). Also very much miss the percentage indicator.

My biggest gripe is that major apps still haven’t updated for the X, so not Apple’s fault. I’m mostly irritated about instagrams bug where you can’t change the profile picture because the done button is blocked by the wifi and signal bars so you can’t press done. Even with reach accessibility on. Apps are glitchy and not properly formatted. A lot of people run social media accounts for profit so this is especially annoying. How does reachability work? Double tap still on the home "bar"?
Swipe down at the bottom of the screen. First enable in the settings app.
[doublepost=1509911437][/doublepost]Battery Percenatge needs to be shown at top of iPhone instead of battery icons. Apps should start updating soon . To match the the new screen form. This is iOS not andriod. For those that want a bigger phone. Will have to wait until nest year for the X Plus. I'm fine with this form factor. Maybe a little wider phone would be better. Unless apple adds different features to a Plus model. That the X standard model won't have. Then I will be staying with this size X. I like true one hand ability. Coming from the JB Plus. This X feels great in the hand.

Actually they can put a button like how other Android phones have. It’s not a physical button.

I know, but you were referring to Apple adding touchID to the iPhone X via a software update. If Apple did that, where would one have to touch the phone to register ones fingerprints?

Okay for battery percentage. I moved the battery widget to the top of my Today/Widget area. Now i swipe right. Intead of swiping down from the top of the phone to see battery status /percentage.

Coming from the plus size for the last three generations of iPhone (and feeling very comfortable using the plus-sized phones), I was very sceptical getting the X. But quite surprising to myself, I adapted to it very quickly and don't have many things to complain about.

Few niggles though...
1. Miss 3D touch app-switcher. The new gesture is fancy and all. But using the phone single-handed on the left hand makes the new gesture difficult.
2. Not a fan of the control centre gesture. But I don't see any option, considering the new features at the bottom part of the screen.
3. The notch isn't bothering me as much as the home bar or whatever it's called, at the bottom of the screen. Would be happy if it fades out or has an option to stay hidden.

Face ID to compliment touch ID.

Face ID to supplant touch ID
There’s no need for glitchy unreliable Touch ID in a product that is constantly being unlocked when you have Face ID.

I don’t mind Touch ID in my MacBook Pro at all. It’s reliable and my hands are clean when I use my laptop. My fingers might not be so clean when I use my phone. Touch ID failed 30% of the time on my previous iPhone. Face ID doesn’t failed more than 1% in my experience.

Firstly love the phone!

  1. Reachability gesture is horrid.
  2. Face ID should be able to be used to access password protected websites instead of using a password. IE much the same as opening an app that requires Face ID.
  3. Most right handed people (majority of the world) hold the phone in their left hand. I have big hands and find my index finger wanting to rest on the camera lens. The lend should be on the other side of the phone.
Right handed people hold the phone in their left hand???

I’m right handed and I hold it in my right hand cause I’m right handed.

I hold it in my right hand when using it one handed, and switch it to my left hand when I use both hands - left hand to hold the phone, right hand to type/swipe ect ect.

Should of made a plus size model. Or atleast 6inch a tad wider it been perfect. I’m sure the notch will get smaller in the years tocome or put under the display. A plus size phone would been killer.

Yeah I'm disappointed that is not wider.

I'm starting to regret my decision to buy the X. I'm really itching to get a 8 plus.

Wish the screen was a bit more wider.

My original reaction was that I wished for the same when I saw comparison photos between it and the plus

In person I love that they made it less wide. It’s slender enough to fit in my hand and make an ergonomic difference

I can kinda do things one handed unlike my plus

When I checked it out, comparing a couple of basic sites on the X vs. my 7+ - the thin width was not good and the way the screen was bordered made it even worse. Want the realestate - do a lot with my 7+.

anyone having issues with texts coming through?

couple times already ill hear a text come through but the phone wont light up and show me the preview text, majority of the time the screen lights up and i can see the text

Trade offs, depends which you value more

I’m over pocket and palm heft after 3 years, relatively speaking.

i dont see any battery widget lol
[doublepost=1509937842][/doublepost]had it since friday, love every bit of it, came from an ip6 and gotta say i love not having a home button, just swipe up, and when changing apps to go to home screen, just swipe up, so much better

Does anyone else have problems with the alarm volume? I’ve set my ringer and music volume to Mac but the alarm sounds like it’s at 50%. Didn’t wake me up this morning, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.

And just my 2 cents, the notch doesn’t bother me, it’s unobtrusive and once you realize the keyboard is bumped up a little so it doesn’t collide with the rounded edges and that Apple compensated in messages to use that space for switching to the emoji keyboard, you don’t think about it. I’ve had zero issues with viewing angles on the OLED display and haven’t seen any tint of blue since I’ve been using it.

All around, and being an owner of most iPhones since the original, I’ll have to say I love this phone the most, so far it beats out the 4s and the 6s+ for me. The screen seems smaller than the plus model, but only because it’s taller. Matched up the plus model the screen is close if not exactly the same width, if the bottom of the X’s screen started at the bottom of the plus’s screen, it would extend to the top of the device with the notch being in the same place as the camera/sensor array at the top of the plus. It’s about the same dimensions as the iPhone 7 (non-plus) maybe just a little taller.

That is my major concern also. Will have to wait and see when all the apps can get updated for the larger screen.

This won't take long. Many, many apps have already been updated over the last few days. Developers have said that Apple has made it very easy for them to update their apps for the iPhone X. Unless the developer behind and app has abandoned their own product...you'll likely see them updated over the next 1-2 weeks.
