I didn’t like the yellowish tint so I turned off the true tone so it helped

I also wished it was maybe 1/4 inch or even half inch wider

I’m coming from a 6+ so I do miss the size but it’s only been half a day so we’ll see

same, I thought I was the only one.

I read somewhere someone complaining about no battery percentage, in the swipe down from right hand side mode, it does show.

it took a bit getting used to the thinner aspect of the iPhone and I seriously think they can shave off another 1mm or so of the black sides, but eh, beggars can't be choosey right?

other then that, it's pretty awesome.

have to get used to not being able to double click the bottom of the screen (it's a reflect, kind of like how I can type on the iPhone keyboard without looking at it...muscle memory to be more accurate, which actually came in handy with a client's phone that didn't show the keyboard (but when I typed on the screen it still showed the letters...like an invisible keyboard)).

Everything is good and great about this phone, I love it in many ways but one thing annoys me. The phone gets very hot when you use it.

Turn off auto-brightness and you will notice it will get much brighter. I did the same thing when comparing to my girlfriends 7, and then I realized that the auto-brightness is on by default. You need to turn that off before the phone will truly reach full brightness.

Absolutely right, thanks!

Mine's getting hot. Too hot really. It heated up when I was doing Animojis. Particularly around middle back and in and around the camera lens.

Another gripe:

  • The seam around the camera bump is a total dirt and lint magnet. In just one day of use it's full of lint. I am wearing pants that I have washed several times, and I don't see lint in the pockets.

Notch didn’t bother me all day. Looking at the phone in a dark room though. It stands out

I would give it a couple of days before you get too concerned about overheating.

When the screen is off the phone turns cool quickly.
I'd still probably hold off a couple of days. Apple has a fair return and replacement policy. No one is completely smooth going to new screen tech it seems.

Samsung struggled early on, Google is struggling now. Hopefully Apple gets everything ironed out.

I also wish it was a little wider. I'm still not liking the notch and it kind of bothers me. Not having a home button takes some getting used to.

I have both the 8 Plus and the X. Both are on IUP ($101/month between the two of them). My original justification was that I would give the 8 Plus to my wife or daughter. My wife says she doesn't like big phones and I'm not sure I want my 16 year old daughter's first phone to be an 8 Plus. I suppose I'll need to discuss this with my wife within the next 13 days.

For those talking about smaller keys, curious how do they compare to the iPhone 6? The same?

That’s what I’d be coming on over from never had a plus phone
The keys are smaller? No wonder why I've been having troubles typing on it. Right after I picked mine up I had to head out for work and never really got a chance to play with it. Not really as excited about others are at the moment, but time will tell...

Been sitting here tonight with not much light in the background. I am really disliking the screen of the iPhone X: the blue tint is extremely visible when the room has low ambience or in a dark room. All I have to do is tilt the phone slightly and bang, the blue tint appears. What really bothers me is how, even though I can tolerate the blue tint to a certain degree (but I dislike it), it's how quick that blue tint shows, like something pulling some transparent blue blind over the iPhone screen in a split second. And then the more it's tilted, the deeper the hue of blue.

It's quite bad with low background light or in the dark.

It's too small really, looking forward to the X Plus because I like this phone a lot. It just needs to be bigger....
[doublepost=1509769935][/doublepost]I also hate the smaller keyboard!

Amen man!

Notch is fine, dont really notice it.
Want battery percent instead of image
Hate the 'home bar' thats on every screen now.. i don't need a reminder on how to get home.
Landscape is now reminiscent of Android phones because Apple doesnt know what to do with the extra space.
A lot of apps are not optimized for it so tons of Black-Bar space on top and bottom of apps (again Android Like).

From Twitter tonight:

  • I have a blue tint almost as bad as my #Pixel2XL on my #iPhoneX...anyone else see this?
  • Even the #iPhoneX has the same blue shift that the #pixel2xl has. Don't know why such big companies decide to use displays with such issues

  • The off-axis blue tint of the OLED display is very noticeable. #iPhoneX

So having the 2 XL as my primary device, I'll tell you this: turn on night shift ANY time you think it's going to be dark. The blue is jarring in the dark. Night shift neutralizes the effect in the dark.

Got an X in my hand right now. The blue tint is very minor and doesn’t bother me at all. Just my opinion.

I can't believe I'm saying this but going to be returning my X and getting a 8 Plus. Upgraded from regular 6 Plus. I have large hands and just can't get over the downgrade in overall size - and it's thicker! Tall, narrow, awkward, notch. Otherwise an amazing phone but man am I disappointed. I think I'll be really happy with the 8 Plus with the super fast chip which is a huge upgrade from laggy 6 - and going back to black (tired of white 6+). Hopefully next year there will be a notcheless X+. I can't imagine I'm the only one greatly disappointed by the "larger" screen size essential being a gimmick.

Things I don’t like:

  • FaceID not working consistently when laying flat on a desk.
  • The number of apps that aren’t yet optimized.
  • Control center is at the way top.
  • I keep getting a “Low Light” error with Animoji. What gives? I thought this used infrared.
Things I thought I wouldn’t like but hasn’t bothered me so far:

  • The notch.
  • The blue tint at angles that everyone is talking about.
  • Disappearance of the home button and the increase in amount of gestures.
  • The overall size of the device and screen.

  • OLED display. Good and bad. The bad is that the viewing angles suck in comparison to Retina LCD: the blue tint reveals itself pretty quickly. I can live with this, but I don't like it. I also find that while the screen looks good, it really doesn't seem any sharper than the Retina LCD.
Omg I was just about to post about how tilting my phone at barely 10 degrees or so, a blue tint starts to appear. At 90 degrees this crap is straight up blue.

Dead on it’s beautiful. Not sure how I feel about this. Is this normal for oled? Yuck!
