I have sat on getting a new phone for a while now because everything for me is off the mark, the X moreso.
[doublepost=1519937358][/doublepost]

If you had any change from buying that piece of crap, I'd tell you to go buy yourself a medal. But oh well, sucks to be X.
Looks like someone is upset that their piggy bank isn’t enough to buy an iPhone X.

Samsung Note 8 (N) vs iPhone X (X)

Screen and display: N
Software: Draw (D)
Battery: N
Speed and performance: D
Filing system: N
Customisation: N
Camera: D but nod to X due to 60FPS
Multitasking: N
Headphone jack: N
Speakers: X
Biometrics security: X
Features: N by a country mile
Apps: X

Final score:

N: 7
X: 4
D: 2

The X is not the best phone ever made. The N trumps it. All you need to do is youtube a 100 videos about the N v X and see for yourself. I doubt the X is even the best iPhone ever made. Is a science grad in 2018 a better scientist that Einstein just because the grad has access to current information and methods?

The X is garbage.

From an unbiased iphone user.

That is all.

I'd give the screen and battery to the X. The screen for example, at full power (on the Note) was doing some funky stuff when I had it. The text looked like it was flipped to bold. Also, infinity display is dumb and unnecessary. It serves no functional purpose and it literally is distracting with those edge reflection it inevitably creates.

Battery? No way no how it goes to the Note, sorry. Much larger one in the N but neither usage times or standby are better.

Also, software can't be a draw. Maybe when Samsung figures out a way to not pile up unnecessary, garbage (that can't be off loaded) by the ton and start updating the OS as updates come out, maybe then things will even out. iOS may be archaic and nowhere near as advanced but it is secure and you never have to worry about bloat or not having the latest OS.

There should be another option for build quality. Samsung is close but not on the same level as iPhone. Iphone's design and attention to detail is simply on another level.

I feel the camera quality overall is better on the X too. More balanced. The Note used to overexpose and blow highlights a lot.

By the way, I much prefer Android over iOS. Much!

I don’t even notice my notch... I love my iPhone X I may even be addicted to it lol...

Agreed. The Notch is really as a non-issue in so many ways, but it’s a change that many don’t appreciate or condone over the iPhone uniformity over the years. But I don’t even notice it when looking at the notch.

Not only is the iPhone X the best iPhone ever made, it's also the best consumer electronic product ever made.

Radio, TV, VCR, DVD player......pick a product going back 100 years, you can't find one more impactful or so well designed.

You are either dreaming or didn’t think that through before you made that rather wild claim lol. If you think the iPhone X has had more impact than television, the personal computer, devices like the Sony Walkman and even the original iPhone, then I would say you are seriously out of touch or typed without even thinking. I must admit I laughed out loud when I read that lol.

The Notch is the biggest flaw. If you view an image full screen, not movies, but pictures, it ruins the image full screen. Everything else is great on the X, but Apple could have adjusted iOS to keep images cropped so the Notch doesn't cut it off.

I would add, Digital ham radios, GPS's (especially Garmin), transistor radios, adaptive cruise control, radar detectors, baby monitors, pacemakers, ipods, etc etc etc. The list is VERY long.
Heck, even the invention of the cell phone itself has had more impact on personal communication overall than the iPhone X alone. Cellular phones were a revolution, the iPhone X is just one in a long line of evolutionary products.

When a person makes responses that open themselves up to ridicule, it's only fair to point out the inanity of the comments made.
I can even acknowledge the the X is an impressive feat of engineering and admire aspects of that. But it still has some serious flaws, in my opinion.

Blasphemer!

I do think that for many vets as well as newcomers, the iPhone X has been a game changer on multiple levels, but not to the extent Bolt was joking with. lol

There are Portrait people and there are Landscape people. The X is for Portrait people. The Plus is for Landscape people.

Once you understand this, you understand that what you perceive to be limitations in the X are actually benefits. The notch allows the clock and status indicators to get off the primary viewing area. The additional length allows for more content while scrolling.

The iPhone is the most significant consumer electronics product of all time. Since 2007 it has transformed the world in a way that the Radio, CD Player, Camcorder, and all other products cannot come close to.

The iPhone X is the best iPhone ever released.

Therefore the iPhone X is the greatest consumer electronics product ever created.

The highlighted part most definitely. Evolution SHOULD do that.

Insanity? Why would anyone watch movies on an iPhone X? That's insanity. If they can afford the $1,250 they certainly can afford an HDTV for that purpose.

iPhone X = Portrait = Vertical Content = Executives and grown-ups.

iPhone Plus = Landscape = Horizontal Content = Gamers and teens without TV's in their bedrooms.

New here or not, I’m amused by this thread.

It always makes me laugh when people bitch about what’s best and what’s not. I’ve had Galaxy phones in the past. I’ve had iPhones in the past. All have been great, to be honest. That said. . .

Personally I prefer iPhones. I’ll not go into why, that’d likely breed more arguments. It doesn’t matter. I just prefer iPhones. Some prefer the Galaxy phones. I’m pleased for them, they’re great phones. Let’s be frank - no matter which you pick, you’re getting a great phone. I hope we can at least agree on that?

I just go with what’s best for me. As far as I’m concerned, iPhones suit my own needs the best.

Amen.

Honestly, it’s personal preference. I don’t find the notch to be a “Flaw” at all and it doesn’t affect my viewing experience with the phone. Perhaps for you it does and others, but to each their own. And truthfully, outside a tech forumthat consistently batters the same ‘issue’ over and over again, it’s not always a problem for everybody else with the Notch.

What I really enjoy is you yourself just posted the best reason for NOT getting an X, "the most significant consumer electronics product of all time" to use your own words".
So, if ANYBODY uses their iPhone in landscape mode, ever, the #1 proponent of iPhone X is saying you shouldn't buy an iPhone X.
You have convinced me.

Exactly. Thank you.

The iPhone X is the natural progression from the 5/6/7/8. A sleek Portrait phone designed for a front pocket and texting/reading. It has nothing to do with the lineage of the Plus at all.

If you're a Landscaper, if you game a lot, if you watch media a lot, don't buy an iPhone X. The chubby widescreen Plus is for you.

I was at the Audi dealer this morning getting my car serviced and everyone else there had iPhones. I obviously had my X but there were 2 others waiting who also had the X. I saw one Plus and one non Plus. Not sure what versions the Plus and non Plus were as I didn't get that good of a look at them.

I did find it weird that I didn't see a single Android phone. Even the Service Advisor was texting away on her Plus, so I guess that makes 2 Plus's I saw.

3ea iPhone X's
1ea iPhone
2ea iPhone Plus
0ea Android Phones

Work with 40 people. Slightly favored towards android. Zero iPhone X's

iPhone X = Portrait = Vertical Content = Executives and grown-ups.

Never seen someone try so hard to justify their purchase.

That's why I thought it was odd I didn't see any Androids. I also didn't expect to see 2 other X's either. I forgot the lady who was using an iPad with KB attached.

Never seen someone try so hard to justify their purchase.

Justify what? Purchasing the industry's best-selling and most-advanced smartphone?

Boy, what a bad decision on my part. I'm such an outlier. I need to 'justify' doing what 30,000,000 others did.
