I made a short video opening 3 apps. The „first“ colors of the spashscreens are the real colors, but you can clearly see how the color changes after a second by iOS 12.

Yeah that is not good! When you lose total visibility of certain things depending upon the wallpaper you have a serious problem. Waiting for a response from Apple on this. They may actually do nothing at all.iOS 12 definitely messed up something with blurring. I took two screenshots of a weather widget: one against a purple and second against an orange background. The sun on a purple background is fullly visible, while the one against an orange background is barely noticable.
Which phone is that on, please?
Very interesting observation!
Received my Xs and its the same. :/
According to Natya, it looks like XS still suffers from the color issue
I've noticed this problem on my X almost immediately after updating to iOS 12. I can confirm that the color returns to normal only in apps. The general home screen looks washed out for lack of a better word. Colors appear "dull" especially red. It almost has an orange hue to it.
Hope this is addressed in iOS 12.1 update...
Are there 2 issues here which we need to seperate? Wallpaper / home screen vs system wide color changes. Thing is some report color changes in app while some say it only impacts home screen?

If you’re viewing with a wide gamut device (iPhone 7 and later?), the difference should be apparent.

I.e., the Settings app wallpaper preview is not an accurate representation of how the wallpaper will appear.
I have included in parentheses the colour profile of the image in Photos (left) and after uploading with Tapatalk (right).
