Using my iphone x for almost a week now is really a good experience, today i pickup and tried using my 7 plus it feels weird now it looks like a rectangular wide phone with a smaller screen now.the only time i missed my 7 plus is when watching videos because its wider and not all videos support the x thus far and stupid majority apps are not updated to the X yet.

I find it too tall. Hard enough to reach all four corners with my thumb on the 4.7" iPhones. Now imagine reaching for Control Center with a display that's even taller?

Just wait on the SE-X by 2020 or if Apple finally realizes putting Control Center on top was a big mistake and they go back to the bottom. The X isn't beta with hardware but iOS11 feels that way. And as polished as the X is right now with hardware, it always gets better and cheaper with its successors.

It's just so nice to have a phone I can use with one hand again with a screen this beautiful. I've had a plus sized phone for several years because I use it so much for business and personal but I think it looks and feels a little ridiculous when trying to stuff it into my pockets and if I need to take a call without my earpiece. The plus sized phones would also get caught on stuff frequently such as the seat belt of my Jeep or truck.

After a few weeks with the X I'm pretty happy to have the look and one handed feel it's got. I think that Apple nailed it with this one. Honestly I wasn't even thinking about the one-handed usefulness because I'd gotten so used to the bigger phones, I just started using one hand to do stuff naturally. That's pretty cool. There is a slight reduction in the screen width that I do miss so I may check out the plus version when it comes out but I'm not that sure. I really like this one!

On a side note, I've been noticing a lot of plus-sized phones being used in movies and TV series by actors and they are starting to look too big IMO. I know that sounds ridiculous, and many of us use bluetooth, but I'm beginning to wonder if we won't look back on these times of holding huge phones to our faces and laugh ;).

Was at AT&T store today and tried out an S8 wish Apple went with that form. A little tall but I can easily use it with one hand vs the X.

Compare the 8 vs X and where the top is located. If you position each device the same way in your one hand, the X feels like you are trying to reach the top from the Plus model.

This is why an iPhone X based on the SE dimensions is more convenient for me. An X based on the 4.7" iPhone dimensions would still be a hassle to reach for Control Center.

Same here! But I would like a 8X or X8.

An iPhone with the dimensions of the 5 and with a 4.7-5 inch? Perfect.

Wouldn't mind dual speakers tbh. Or an 5.2 inch screen in the iPhone 6 form factor would be fine too for me.

5” would be good. And honestly I don’t mind Apple’s LCD panel. Yea OLED is nice but Apple nailed it with the LCD panel.

I just want to say, "ha ha you were WRONG!" To all the people who said the X would have the same screen width as the small 6,7,8.

After almost 3 weeks I can confidently say it's big enough for me. I was initially ultra convinced the X would be too small coming from an 6/7/8+ ... I bought an 8+ in fact. However, the tradeoffs are worth it. The vertical height lets me read just about the same info as the plus in portrait, and it's very immersive with updated apps.

In landscape the plus size wins. However the only times I used to go landscape was for video watching and picture editing. Videos are fine... a little smaller or "feel" the same if you zoom and crop a bit (the notch doesn't bother me at all). Working in apps where their UI is below vs on the sides/made for iPhone X is not great. But the good apps put the UI on the sides, so it still works fine.

I wish it was a SMIDGE taller in landscape. But the trade off for having a vastly smaller phone but a nearly as large as a plus screen has been worth it for me. The phone is no longer clumsy in the hand, or huge in my pocket. I am not even sure I'd get a Plus model next year if it was available... though since I eventually adjusted to the plus size I probably will re-adjust back to get the massive screen.

TL;DR - no. I don't think it's too small. It's juuuuuussst right

I had the X for 2 weeks. And even after watching this video the X is definitely not a one handed device. You’re right reaching the top is like reaching the top of a Plus. How about the bottom, it’s all the down the bottom.

Ok times might be changing but Apple always prided itself having a device that not only can you use one handed but using it with your thumb one handed. Then they came out with the plus to appease those that wanted large screen like the competition. They appeased both ends. Now they want you to get used to their compromise. Take it or leave it.

Yep I was wrong, what’s your point?
It's annoying when people state things as if they are true based on conjecture.

I'm not perfect. But this should be a reminder to everyone that maybe you should wait to make conclusions until you Actually hold the device before spreading "ideas" based on nothing.

Had the X for just a few days and I can use it with one hand and was not able to do so with the 6S Plus. I thought I would miss the size, I mean I know the X is a larger screen that the Plus models, but I have gotten used to it. It's also heavier than the 6S Plus (still blows my mind on that one).

I guess I have small hands. I couldn’t use the X one hand with my thumb comfortably and securely with a medium protective case.

One thing about the X i noticed is the weight. Even tho you could hold it in one hand the weight on this thing!! Going back to another phone you will noticed the weight different and there are times when the weight is a bit too much for a long period of time.

have my X now for 24 hrs.
coming from a +, i can get used to the size eventually,
also the crispness and contrast helps reading the smaller stuff.
but it will take a few days to forget the large width.
many things feel "squeezed", with much less space.

but my main issue is NOT ALL YOUTUBE VIDEOS CAN PINCH TO ZOOM.
i don't get it. they upgraded the app, so what gives?
same goes to many sites or forums that still not using the full landscape width.
when all these be solved i'll feel better. at the moment still "suffering" from going narrow.

Yeah, I don’t know why some videos can be pinched-to-zoomed, and others can’t, when they’re the same aspect ratio.

iPhone X Too SMall? It depends what you mean by small

Physical Size??? YES, It's closer to the iPhone 6/7 Body than to Plus Models.
Screen Size??? NO, It's slightly bigger than iPhone Plus Models

TrueLaLey Sister, so TRUE, and agree with you. The OP isn't specific. iPhone X has currently the biggest screen of all iPhone but still MUCH SMALLER than iPad, even with an iPad Mini... The iPad Mini is still 2.5 Times bigger than the biggest screen sized iPhone X which is only 13.08 inch vs 30Square inch on iPad Mini..

I am really disappointed by the screen ratio of iPhone X. Having been using iPhone 6 Plus, 6s Plus, and then 7 Plus, I can't stand the strange and elongated shape of iPhone X that has narrower screen and displays fewer words and contents horizontally. It just looks awkward and weired.
I was about to place my order, but I will wait for the possible iPhone X Plus in the future. The screen size of Plus models are perfect and Apple should keep selling them. If I wanted to upgrade, I would go with 8 Plus instead of X. I can use a Plus model to work and to do remote access of other computers with larger screen area, but it will be really cramped to do it on an X due to the strange screen ratio and effectively smaller usable screen area.

Agree with all of the above but I’d actually use a tablet for remote access. Both the iPad Pros and particularly the 12.9 (I own both) are fantastic for this.

After the keynote men and my brother were texting back and forth and were excited that the X was going to be the same size as our 7’s in our Magpul and Symmetry cases cause that was a criteria we shared for being pocketable. I never took into consideration how the screen size would come into play until I used it. After 2 weeks it literally felt like using a Plus.

I still have the very first iPhone and this is the first time ever I didn’t upgrade to the latest and greatest. I didn’t even get an 8 cause I still like the more industrial stealthy design of my space gray 7. Wireless charging isn’t important but fast charging is. My iPad charger charges my iPhone 7 to around 45% in 30 minutes.

I now have my 3rd X for a few days now and I am afraid this one is going back as well. I cannot get used to not having that extra width, something my eyes aren't quite adjusting to. It feels to me too much like a normal 7/8 just stretched vertically. Horizontal screen real estate is more useful than vertical in my opinion. Hopefully next year they come out with one that will satisfy those Plus users that don't mind the bigger physical footprint of the device. The screen I had on my last X was much nicer than the first two and have no issues with Face ID. I just cannot get over the dimensions which will be a love hate relationship for some.
