Unfortunately I think I’ll be returning mine too. The X is an awesome phone but just a little too small for me coming from a Plus model. Great upgrade for non Plus users though.
I agree with you, but I will keep my X. I'd rather adjust to the smaller screen than go back to using the older LCD. I had an 8 Plus for 2 weeks, it was pretty heavy, too. The heaviest iPhone ever made. I'm already used to the Portrait Mode on the front camera and Face ID. I'm really not looking back.

is anyone else out there concerned that the 'x' will feel awkwardly small after using plus models for years? I realize the screen is bigger but the real estate in which to navigate that screen in terms of physical space is much smaller. I'm almost wondering if this might not be a reason to grab the 8plus this year and hope for a plus variant of the x down the road. Thoughts?
12 hours in with the X and, even though it is a beautiful phone, I'm not keeping it. It is just. too. small. I need that physical space for my big hands! I'll stick with my 8+ ta. Gutted, but already craving the X+.

Can't Tell if iPhone X is too Small. It's actually bigger for me than iPhone Plus Models when browsing the web. Unless you started to watch a video. And also, iPhones aren't meant for watching videos for more than 2 hours.

So to simplify, is iPhone X too small compared to iPhone Plus Models?? The answer is NO, it's much taller but less narrow.
Who watches a full movie on iPhone anyways?? LOL, cuz everyone PREFERS to watch a Video on an iPad Mini, iPad Air, iPad Pros Series than aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaany size of an iPhone even its an X or PLUS being too small to enjoy gaming.

I watch full movies all the time on my iPhone 7.

I guess Apple is trying to get us to by more iPads haha
Well duh, Not everyone can AFFORD AN iPad especially in Asia. Only White Americans, Europeans, can buy Multiple Device at a time. Other people that sells their iPhone for an iPad or vice versa means that they dont have the money to maintain their financial problems anymore. But i'm glad i have multiple device actually and i use them equally.

iPhone for texting, calling, alarm clock
iPad For Watching Movies, Browsing, gaming, Word
Macbook/PC for Programming, Encoding, Backup, charge other apple device.

I'm an Asian but i am blessed to have iPad Pro 10.5 2017, iPhone X, iPhone 7 Plus, and Macbook 15" with Touchbar 2016.

And also, iPads can NEVER replace the portability of an iPhone.

I’ve had the iPhone 6, 6s & 7 Plus models, and while the iPhone X does feel smaller, it’s somewhat balanced by the screen height being relatively similar and the edge-to-edge nature plays some visual tricks too.
While the screen being marginally thinner, makes videos a tad smaller than on the Plus, I can live for the trade-off for a year.
I’ll probably be back on a Plus, when they release a iPhone X Plus variant, but I like this compromise for now.

I don't miss my 7 Plus at all. Too fat, huge bezels, not comfortable one handed. I am loving the size of my X. I will certainly take a look at an X Plus next year, but I am just not sure I want a phone that large anymore. Maybe if it was my only computer, but I use an iPad Pro for anything needed on a larger screen. An extra gig of ram and landscape will not sway me.

The design is flawed. When in full screen, video is obscured by the notch.

If you want notchless viewing , you will have to reduce the video size.
Well blame it on strange dimensions. Just like Sammy and LG, Apple, decided against using a phone with a 16:9 ratio.

I don’t get the whole Asian vs American comparison here. Are you saying there’s only poor people living in Asia? You can’t be farther from the truth.

And what is the relative connection of you being Asian and owning a few Apple products?!

The 10 is a smaller phone but a BIGGER screen, the screen is a little less wide but taller then the plus phones, if you put the 7+ and 10 side-by-side and look at the two, the 10 has screen where the black bezel on top and the black bezel and home button on the plus have waisted space, the messenger keyboard is nearly the sMe width do to two keys that have been moved to the bottom of the screen

All the light gray section is occupied by the old iPhone black bezel and home button

The usable screen is smaller than the plus model simply because the keyboard needs to be at a certain height to be able to use comfortably. The only time where you can get the benefit of a taller screen is when you’re scrolling something without the keyboard showing up and still the difference between the X and the plus is really negligible.

Get this

I have the x, iPad Pro 10.5 and MacBook Pro so I have different sizes for certain tasks

Good combo for me

Yea, that's a great combination. Have you considered going iOS only for your needs or do you need macOS?
Yeah I tried it by going iPhone and iPad Pro but missed the laptop experience. I use my iPad Pro equally at home but I take my Pro everywhere with me. Love the LTE option. Think I will always have LTE for my ipads from now on

Yea, sometimes I miss macOS a bit, but I am waiting to see what they do with it in the future. It's become a bit stale for me. I bet Apple is working on a replacement as we speak.

Yeah I think the Pro is the start and in the end they may try to completely make it the laptop replacement. Think it’s long way away for now though

This designed this way to prevent accidental text input when performing swipe to close the app. In addition to the comfortable height of course.

I know it is designed this way, I didn’t think it was an accident...lol I am saying that is designed like this to take up that space (somewhat) as well as make more room to spread the keys out

Yea I never agreed with trying to put macOS onto an iPad. Too messy. Instead, I think they are likely trying to build a more locked down OS for the laptop/desktop environment, based on their own designed chip. That or just staying the course, continue to modernize macOS and add desktop-like features to iOS for iPad.
