is anyone else out there concerned that the 'x' will feel awkwardly small after using plus models for years? I realize the screen is bigger but the real estate in which to navigate that screen in terms of physical space is much smaller. I'm almost wondering if this might not be a reason to grab the 8plus this year and hope for a plus variant of the x down the road. Thoughts?

Actually the X is meant for non Plus users cause of the size.

Much smaller? Exaggeration there me thinks.

I get that people have preferences and that's what makes the world interesting. Making blatant mis-quotes though, not so much. When the plus phones came out and I saw the pics I was like, wow, I need one of those phones. Then, as soon as I held one in the hand and compared it to the normal Phone, I couldn't believe how awkward and bulky it felt. It's not a phone, it's phablet, and I have no need or desire for one. The regular 4.7" phone feels just right, if a bit too thin. By all accounts the X has hit the sweet spot with only a slightly higher width but a much higher screen-body ratio and a bit more girth to boot. Win-win if you ask me.

I know we get used to things, but people need to step back and just look at where we are compared to even just a few years ago.

keyboard is a pain in the ass. it literally feels like i am back using my old iPhone 6 just without a bezel. back to Plus for me
Keyboard felt just great to me, even though I mis-typed a bit more. This coming from an SE user, but regardless of keyboard you get used to it.

Not sure why it would be considered too small? It has a larger surface area than the Plus. It's also slightly bigger overall than the 8. Is that phone too small? Many people like a more compact size.
Apple should have given us who wanted more of a phablet a bigger phone with an edge to edge display. And then given everyone the option of which of the two X models they wanted. Had they done that. Most on here wouldn’t be huffing and puffing so much.

You have 14 days to return it.

as an SE user i can understand this, the keyboard must feel big as it is. i use both hands to type on my Plus. i also use my old 6, but mostly for Spotify. X got basically the same keyboard and its just so small to me now

Isn’t any. This is the future of the iPhone.
If there is no bigger Iphone next year, I think a lot of android to Ios switchers will think about switching back. They have already tried the one size phone fits all bet and lost.

Just got it and kinda wish it was a bigger... Its the same size as my Moto X Style and I narrow screen kinda makes it looks and feel like its small too. Will need to play with it more...

You can’t really compare iPhone to Android. For one most iPhone users will always stay because of the OS. The ones that switch back and forth are just looking for the best. iPhone users know they have the best and don’t have a desire to switch to Android.

If you’re going to compare devices the best would be the iPhone vs Pixel.

The OS really aren't that different if you take the time to learn the strengths and weaknesses of each platform . Plus I'm talking specifically about the people who switched from android to Iphone only after they released the plus sized phones. For them switching back to android wouldn't be as big of an issue for most of those people. There is a fairly significant portion of the population who simply prefers the bigger phones and will switch if Apple does not provide it. It wouldn't make any sense for them not to make a bigger phone because it would just allow a competitor to come in and corner that market again.

Fair enough but we have to think about what’s actually possible. Right now there just isn’t a way to mass produce enough OLED panels for such a thing. Probably next year though.

Coming from a 7 plus, the screen feels much smaller than I thought it would. I was expecting something closer to the 7 Plus, but because of how narrow it is, it makes me feel like I am back on my iPhone 5.

I welcome the change. I had the 6+, 6S+, and 7+ and even though the screen on the X is slightly less wide, it makes up for it by being higher resolution, more responsive and of course OLED.

The form factor is amazing on this phone.

This is my only real bitch about the X right now. It is taking me a while to get used to the little keyboard after the 7+. It is a lot smaller feeling. Also some games that I play (Hawk mostly) definitely feels off and I have died more frequently getting used to the smaller, more narrow screen size.

However, for me, the Face ID and wireless charging and the overall sharpness/quality of the OLED screen are too good to swap back to the 7+ or an upgrade to the 8+. I'll put up with the smaller keyboard for the next year and hope for a larger version of the X next year.

Someone above said they think there won't be a bigger one, that this is the future of the iPhone. I disagree. Samsung sells the Note 8 and it's getting good reviews with a larger screen. Apple will go bigger again to compete. Also all the complaints from us older-eyed-want-my-damn-text-bigger people will help that. :)

I’m using the X and it feels MUCH SMALLER than the plus. I’m going to probably send it back. Can’t see the keyboard well enough.

Went to see it today, yikes it is so much smaller because its a lot narrower. Felt uncomfortable to use compared to the Plus.
