I see. I went with an 8+ to wait out a year but if they don’t have a larger one I think I’ll be happy with the current x form factor.

No one is certain if Apple is building an X Plus but it doesn’t mean we can’t express interest and nudge them in that direction. We have some influence with our money :D

I went from a 7 plus to the x . I must say I now love the x .. I miss having a regular size phone . So much easier to handle .. and I’m 6”4 with huge hands . Can’t believe I missed the smaller phone

I have never used a plus and the x feels big to me. I’m sure I’ll get used to it, but I don’t really want a large object to carry around.

Yes, youre complete3ly r4ight. But when I held it, its really a lot less comfortrable as i have large hands.

I said this elsewhere, but I really do think it's those who have large hands or those who use the phone in landscape a lot who will notice the difference. I have smaller hands and don't use it in landscape much and actually quite appreciate not having to strain my thumb, hehe. I'm pretty sure Apple will come out with a plus version in the next year or two.

I am coming from a 5.7" screen Moto X and wish the screen was bigger on the Iphone X...No way would i keep this phone if I was a iPhone plus user. The narrow screen is something i have to get used to....

The X is too narrow for me coming from a 7 Plus.

The Plus models are like small phablets that compel you to ditch your iPad and just browse everything on your phone. I’m typing this now from my 7 Plus. It’s soemthing I wouldn’t want to do from the X. Forums are just not pleasant to browse. And the extra height doesn’t help.

The X is like a dedicated phone. I’d want to use it only on the go. I wouldn’t want to have to rely on it while I’m watching TV on the couch or something.

And maybe this is why Ive made that comment about how we are using our phones wrong and too much.

Give me an X Plus, and you have my money. Not sure if I’m keeping the X at this point.

Have to agree, I really want an iPhone X Plus as well. The Samsung S8 Plus is basically same size of the iPhone Plus but it's all screen.

Hahaha the difference in width is negligible and minor by any measure.

Did you even try it in real life? The difference in width is huge when I had the iPhone X next to my iPhone Plus model yesterday. That is why I am going to skip this version and wait for a bigger iPhone XL / iPhone X+ version.

It's not a negligible size difference.

It's small on paper. But in real life, that size difference makes a HUGE difference in overall feel of the size of the device.

Again, my first impression was that I was back on an iPhone 5.

Exactly, I'm the same boat. As matter of fact, i wish they made even a wider phone.
The S8 Plus is starting to tempt me but samsung software ugh.
The first time I held a note 8 I felt like it was insanely narrow and taller than it needed to be. I held my plus up to it and it just seemed like it needed to be as wide as my plus and it would feel fine with the height. That’s the vibe I’m getting from the x... it’s going to be too long.

Notice what happens when you make a 16:9 video full screen. You get significant cropping and loss of content.

If you don’t go full screen you basically have the same size display as a 4.7” iPhone with large OLED letterboxing

Full screen. Lots of cropping and loss of content.

Not full screen. Much smaller than the Plus but all content displayed.

I've been a 6 Plus then 7 Plus user and absolutely loved the screen size. I got the iPhone X on Friday. After using it for 2 days, I think I'm gonna have to get the 8 Plus instead. I'm trying really hard to love the screen ratio but it just looks too tall and narrow. I'm missing the landscape mode from the Plus and it's annoying that there's no room to display the battery percentage meaning you have to swipe down every time you want to see it. I like the new swiping gestures (some of which they could actually incorporate now on the Plus), Face ID and Animojis are fun for a while. I really think Apple will release an X Plus in the future. Why they opted for this screen ratio is a mystery to me. I still have my 7 Plus (soon to be eBayed) but will take advantage of Apple's return policy and mess about with both for a few more days until I return the X. Loving the wireless charging btw (which is also available on the 8 Plus!) :)

This is true however most of the time I feel like that notch really isn’t cutting out too much important stuff in the video when I watch it in that mode.

Omg in what world. Are you that delusional or so drunk on the X koolaid that you’ll ignore every counter statement. Pictures have shown it, videos have shown it. Reviews have stated it. It’s night and day. Have you used either phone before?
I got the 7plus, 8 plus and X. It really is barely noticeable for sure. I also have the bigger s8 plus and NOTE 8. They are huge but awesome.I think the X is a much easier to manage 8 Plus. * plus has been handed down to son.

I am starting to agree with this as well. I thought the x was too small. Now I think it’s actually larger then the plus screen as the top and bottom of the plus is wasted space. And narrower is better IMO because it’s easier to use with one hand, although still not totally manageable which is fine because it REALLY wasn’t manageable with my 7+. So taller screen, smaller device, yes please. The only thing we lose from a plus phone is the little bit wider screen, the downside, harder to hold the device especially while laying down watching a video.

Depending on hand size :) For me, the width loss makes the X a lot less comfortable to hold with one hand now. Count me in for the X Plus model next year hopefully as I am firmly in the Phablet camp now.
