May I ask what made you pre-order, coming from a 14PM? What did you see which made you think the experience would be different? I'm genuinely curious.
I was going to give my 14PM to my husband who has a damaged 12 PM. Now after using the 15 PM for a few days, I don’t feel the upgrade was worth it for me…and since my husband doesn’t care about the “latest and greatest” he can get something else for his use.

I wanted to upgrade to the 15 Pro from the 14 Pro and did not find it to be worth it. This is the first time I did not upgrade yearly since the differences have gotten so small. I tested the 15 Pro for a few days now.

- Camera on 15 Pro is essentially identical to 14 Pro (no, the sensor on the 15 Pro is not larger)
- Titanium frame feels lighter but also less premium. It is also less grippy without a case (I never use a case)
- Noticeable sharp edge on the back the device, also with the replacement unit (see other thread I opened)
- USB 3.0 speeds not as advertised. Restore process is USB 2.0 speed, even with Apple original cable. Feels like intentionally wrong advertisement to me
- Durability concerns with titanium frame

We have gotten to a point at which differences are very small, even smaller than in the past. But what really annoys me is when a company advertises e.g. USB 3.0 but you only get 2.0 speeds e.g. in the restore process. They are deliberately misleading customers – and yes, I tested it with multiple cables, all USB 3.2 certified, even the original Apple Pro cable.
I traded my iPhone 14 Pro Max to Apple Store. The 15 Pro Max is really great because of the cameras. However, not giving the action button a short press/long press as two separate functions is a misstep. Also, the titanium does not feel pleasant to hold from a premium material point of view.

For me, the lightness, Smart HDR 5, Telephoto camera, and USB-C 3.0. Those are necessary upgrades, but I feel mixed about the phone altogether. It’s doesn’t feel premium for spending $1300

I've tested this claim. It does briefly switch to usb 2.0 speed when booting into DFU but immediately switches back to 3.0 speed (10Gbps) for actual update file transfer and update process with is much faster. This is also the case with an iPad Pro. I have used a relatively inexpensive usb-if certified usb 3.1 gen 2 cable.

I thought it was totally worth it and so does my husband. The displays on both of our phones look crisper and clearer than our 14PM displays. I thought the camera worked better in low light portraits and had better color in the few photos I was able to take so far. I love the lighter feel, too. Battery life was improved, as well,at least in the Pro Max.

Unfortunately I have to return mine because the display gives me eye fatigue and headaches. But I'm a rare case and this isn't an issue for most people. If it weren't for this, I'd happily keep it. I think it's fantastic and I envy everyone who is able to keep theirs.
Its the same display as the 14

I am having second thoughts and was curious if anyone else is having remorse for upgrading. The phone is beautiful and the updates are nice I am just not sure if it is worth it coming from an 14PM after using it for the last 4 days.
I never understand this take. Of COURSE it’s going to feel like a small upgrade, you’re on last years model. Try upgrading every 2-3 years, you’ll feel much better about your purchase and won’t be blowing money unnecessarily, imo

I upgraded from my X to a 15 pro max and the difference is insane. I had one reason for the upgrade and it was type C, the extra stuff is just a nice bonus. I genuinely can’t think of anything this phone could add that I would want at this point other than a notch free screen

Not returning my 15PM 512gb. Love it. Went from an 13PM 256gb which had a little screen burn, battery would have need replacement in the near future and needed more Gb. I love that the 15PM feels slightly smaller in the hand, enjoying the dynamic island over the notch, screen is excellent and don’t have any heating issues, square blotches on the side or battery worries 🥴. Really pleased with it.

Mine has a flaw in the finish on the top, not too bad, but it's there.

I'm going to see if I can learn to live with it, otherwise I may return it.

Face ID is much faster coming from my 12 Pro Max. It's also MUCH brighter in daylight.

Coming from the 12 Pro, I’m likely returning my 15 Pro. No much of an upgrade for my needs. I don’t take that many pictures and everything else just feels the same. I don’t notice any difference in speed, or screen. (Don’t care for the island or action button) USB-C is what I like the most, but just for charging. I’m actually most dissatisfied with battery life (compared to my 12 P at 84%). No that much better. Every year, I can’t wait for the new model, buy it, and usually end up returning it a few days later (along with all the accessories I got from Amazon).
Oh, well, there’s always next year.

This is why I never wipe my old one or do a straight trade in.

What’s the battery life like compared to the 13pm?

It’s my biggest gripe with the phone. I’m at 40% now. I took it off at I think 7:34am this morning. There was what felt like at least 4 hours it just sat doing nothing while I was on the computer. I feel like my 13pm had better battery life.

Absolutely not! Great phone, great battery, super clear display, and it’s very pleasant in the hand.

No way am I returning my 15PM blue 1TB. I come from a 14PM 1TB. It’s a decent upgrade to me. Lighter, better battery, so far it’s been a great upgrade year.

Do you really take advantage of having 1TB of storage? I’ve been wondering whether anyone really needs that much storage on a phone.
