I’m loving my 15 Pro in Blue Titanium. Even coming from a 14 Pro which I also loved, all the changes they made to the design are great. The more curved/contoured frame is much more comfortable to hold, titanium sides are nice looking and way less smudgy than stainless steel, the blue color is absolutely beautiful, the slimmer display bezels are nice and it is super snappy and fast. The media has been in an absolute frenzy with negative press about these phones, which I think is mostly blown out of proportion hyperbole. No regrets here.

As mentioned in my post, I used the 200$ Apple Pro Cable which is USB 3.2 certified. I tested other cables as well.

From the post you quoted: "… and yes, I tested it with multiple cables, all USB 3.2 certified, even the original Apple Pro cable."

I updated the post and now and highlighted it with some color.
O think you’re trying to use thunderbolt cables, which if it can’t be identified will fallback to usb2 😬

I am using the

Thunderbolt 4 (USB‑C) Pro Cable (3 m) cable.

Well, don’t.

Thunderbolt it’s an intel protocol. Using the USB C as plug in the new iterations.

USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) it’s a USB-IF protocol, created / maintained by few PC companies.

Using a thunderbolt cable on a non thunderbolt compatible machine will make it to fallback to default usb2 speeds. Most cables are not both TB4 and USB 3.2, they’re only TB4 or only USB.

And even the few cables that can do both, the controller on cable is so stupid that finding compatibility for usb 3.2 it’s very slim chance.

Second problem is that you’re trying to put a 3m cable on a machine that can’t sustain the output power for that length… a difference between USB and TB is that TB requires a lot of power, but it goes much much longer. USB high speed cables are short (<1m) and very thick. I’ve mine, 50cm, thick AF works like a charm with any device. Will test it on iPhone tomorrow.

To each their own. The only things I agree with, based on my own experience with that same phone, is that it is more comfortable to hold and it is super snappy/fast.

I really don't understand some of you on here lol.

At that point why not sell your 'old' iPhone and keep the added benefit of the newer model? AppleCare (assuming you don't have it for the 14PM in this case), at least 1 extra year of iOS updates and an actual physical update this year with the action button + USB-C? Is it worth the couple hundred bucks compared to last year's model? Probably not, but this has been the case for a while now.

I know it’s really small but once you see you can’t unsee it 😅 I know I’m probably just being picky because a “normal” person wouldn’t even care lol
Unfortunately mine also has dust both in the front and back camera, ultra wide to be precise….
I was hoping for a better qc from apple this year but I guess not 💀

Edit : interesting thing is the “dust” in the ultra wide camera is red so I guess it’s not a dust but some sort of glitter? It’s REALLY small tho.
Can’t really take a good macro photo with my 7 plus 😅
Yet people still rave about Apple build quality. I've never had a Samsung phone or tablet have any flaw whatsoever. No dust behind the screen or camera. No blue or yellow displays. No dead pixels. No loose buttons. Just perfect build and QC every time.

I returned the 15 Pro today because the phone was randomly crashing or freezing or self reboot a bunch of times in the last three days. It’s a lemon! It even came with a dead battery out of the box.

I do love the hand feel and aesthetics of the phone. Coming from 12 Pro it is a bit of an improvement for me. I particularly liked the improved speaker quality

You could give it one more try, or wait until January to see if the kinks are worked out.

You didn't have one of those exploding ones that got the performance of being banned by IATA and every airline in the world, didn't ya?

No. That model passed me by. Still, that's a fault and not a build quality or QC issue. Need I remind you of the many Apple products sold with an inherent fault or design issue over the years?

going to wait for a software update and if that doesn't fix my cellular connectivity issues then it will get returned

But what really annoys me is when a company advertises e.g. USB 3.0 but you only get 2.0 speeds e.g. in the restore process. They are deliberately misleading customers – and yes, I tested it with multiple cables, all USB 3.2 certified, even the original Apple Pro cable.
Only Apple can get away with false advertising as the community in large doesn’t really care.
I read that in another thread. I am sorry that happened for you. Hopefully your next one will be better. :)
There will be no future iPhone equipped with LCD display that is easier on eyes for those people sadly.
I've got an XS Max and TBH, it still feels like a great phone. What makes you say that the 15 Pro Max so much better ?
And iPhone XS Max is the last phone having functional 3D Touch hardware and I can legitimately use finger to draw different thickness of line in one stroke. Not possible on iPhone 15 Pro Max lmao.
Sadly iOS 17 is going to be the last supported iOS, so I have to upgrade regardless.

I havn‘t seen any neg media reports, all complaints I see are from people here.

First year I did not pre-order and I still have not.

Purple 14PM here which is still immaculate with 100% battery health. I would like the lighter more comfortable phone and do really dig that natural titanium, but as someone who almost never uses a case the durability is a concern, more the frames suspetability to scratch than the bend thing. I also think that I might actually really miss the mute switch!

When I do eventually cave in, I might go for the standard pro over the pro-max, if the 15 or 15 plus had an always on display I'd seriously consider them TBH.

Do you really take advantage of having 1TB of storage? I’ve been wondering whether anyone really needs that much storage on a phone.
I used to be ok with 256 for a few years and now I've gotten dangerously close to going past that (mostly due to videos and photos) and so I have bumped up to 512.... I'm sure in a few years I'll need 1TB, but hopefully by then its the middle price tier with 2TB being offered.

Sounds like it was faulty. You probably could've just asked for a replacement but this soon after launch you're quite entitled to a refund. I'd have just got a replacement or even get a refund then buy it again... maybe wait a month but you probably don't need to do that.

My original M1 iPad was randomly crashing/rebooting and it was kernel panics. I only mention it because the issue you had reminded me of it. I take it you didn't look at the crash logs? You don't need to be an expert to understand it. If it was kernel panics then you just look for "panic". At least that's all that guy at Apple did to diagnose it for me.

What you going to do now?

You missed batteries exploding. 🤭🤡

I was having weird vertigo, dry/grainy feeling eyes after just a few days with the Pro 15 (non-Max).

Turns out it is the screen on the new Pros causes eye pain, blurriness, and just awful vision issues for me. I skipped the 14 Pro, so maybe this isn't new but it was disappointing.
Nothing new, the complaints go back to the X

Still happened and was very serious at the time. It stopped me from buying Samsung phones ever again and never looked back.
For sure. Just saying that if that's the main crutch of an argument towards Apple having better QC than Samsung, might be a good strategy to find more recent examples.

I think I’m going to give it another 5-10 years of no wide spread exploding batteries before it’s a legitimate option again.

I’m pretty much team iPhone all the way now, but I used to always look at the competitor.
