Yep, I am.

I only really ever use them for music so battery life I think is still really good for that.

I had a HouseParty group on the go tonight and they only lasted and hour from full charge - really surprised at that but reading this thread that seems pretty good?

Just charged up my gen1's, as wanted a headset while doing the wfh thing. They work great, sound good on the other side, but can't get more than an hour. Will try my app's next to see if they last much longer for phone work.

What's the reason for "upgrading" to Gen2 over Gen1?

Am not interested in the Siri says functionality; want to tap them to turn on the useless Siri for an argument.

I assume that the new Airpod Pros need touch contact, so will be difficult to use under a helmet or thick hat when wearing gloves? One of the main benefits of the Gen1 Airpods.

My wife and I have gen 1s, we use all the time. I'm starting to have battery issues in the right pod, so at some point I'll get new ones.

Yup, still use mine all the time. Decent battery life too.
I'll probably wait for the 3rd gen AirPods before I upgrade them. Would love Bluetooth 5.2 with L3 support for better call/Facetime quality.

I am still using my 1st gen. Although my wife bought me the 2nd gen for my birthday last week, so I'll soon be relegating my 1st gen AirPods as my back up pair.

Mine are three years old and I still use them all the time on runs and in the early morning with the AppleTV when the rest of the house is asleep. That's probably my favorite feature.

Still using the gen1 after about 2 years and 2 months.
Now it gets me about 55 min in a conf call and about 2h:20min of music.
I'm considering upgrading to the Pros but will wait until fall for a possible refresh or at least a USB-C charging case.

Using my gen 1 after two and a half years but I only get about 45 mins talk time. I do have them on nearly full volume though as I'm hard of hearing.

The weird thing is that even a few seconds back in the charging case can take the AirPods from 1% back to about 80%.

I know they're out of warranty but it doesn't feel like value for money after only two years.

Yes I still use mine although battery life isn't as good. I also have Airpods Pro which I got for Christmas, for some reason I still prefer to use the original Airpods more.

I am still using gen1 , I am not insterested in siri at all. I have apple watch, macbook air, iphone and siri is shut on all devices. I am using airpods few days a week, battery life is about 1-1.30 hours ,but that is fine because it is charging very fast in about 15-20 minutes you are on the go again.

Just ordered 4th pair of gen1 Airpods. Discounted for a third of price of Airpods Pro.

The gen1 are useful and great backups for using online on conference calls. Battery degradation is expected with all the items and my solution is to have multiple backups and alternatives for an always on experience.

Glad that the price has lowered on the used market.

I also think a lot of people are hard on the 1st gen AirPods. I would think that if you’re the type of person who listens to music or podcasts in small chunks, like an hour here or there. The 1st gens would still be great. Maybe even another year or two. Not everyone needs 4-5 hours all at once.

Seriously, before AirPods, I considered every other pair of headphones disposable because they never lasted much more than a year. Either the cord got ripped, they were destroyed in the wash, or just stopped working.

I still use my two year old originals. I listen to podcasts with only one bud in at a time (I have 3 kids and need to hear them when they call or talk to me). When one does, I put in the other. I can last all day like this. I love them. I used to have to buy a new pair of corded headphones every few months because they’d catch on something when I was cleaning. So I think they are well worth the cost.

sadly my husband left his in a hotel room and they were never turned in. So I might have to get him another set and I’ll be jealous.

i noticed something unusual...direct calls last much longer than conf calls where is barely lasts 40-45min

I probably won't use them after today. They're uncomfortable, fall out of my ears, and randomly disconnect from Bluetooth. After they disconnect, it's difficult to get them reconnected. One of the worst purchases of my life. Not at all impressed, Apple. Thumbs way, way down.

Finally able to use Airpods gen 1 continuously for multiple conf call sessions that together are over 5 hours. This has everything to do with using a separate microphone connected to the computer and the Airpods, alternatively charging, for just listening.

Finally a solution.

Just upgraded mine to AirPod Pros. Totally worth the upgrade, sold my Gen 1’s for $30 in about 5 minutes.

Still use mine daily, but they are down to about 40 min before needing a boost in the case.

I tried and returned Pro’s...the form factor change wasn’t something I wanted, as I learned quickly.

I may shop a new pair of G2’s at some point, but I think I can keep going with my 1’s perhaps until yet another update to the classic line (G3’s)

Well, thanks for creating an account just to tell us that. Thankfully the market has dictated otherwise. The Airpods have been a an absolute stunning success for Apple and have created a slew of competitors.

In addition there are millions of very satisfied users out there who are very much enamored with them.

The W1 chip is designed to augment Bluetooth functionality by increasing fidelity, decreasing lag and adding extra functionality. All these have been proven to have worked fit their users.

Given your total lack of posting history here, you'll forgive us if we ignore your negativity.

Yep, I still use mines that I got on Day 1 they were released. They last about 2 hours before I have to charge them.
Lol. Update 2 months later. My battery life is down to around an hour. My left one charges from 2% to 79% in seconds. Lol. Probably faulty. It’s been 3 and a half years, I think it may be time to move on. I’d wait until next month to see if the new Pros get released along side the new MacBook Pro.
