Is anyone still using 1st gen AirPods?

First gen here: 40-45 minutes calling, some hours listening music 👍🏻

Today after15 minutes calling, both dropped down. Maybe time to change them? Not sure if it could be better to wait a new refresh or go with discounted series 2 or Pro. Any suggestions?

still using mine, ~1 3/4 yrs old, battery life is fine but I only use them for phone calls (I have Boses Qc35 for music/movies). won't replace them til they die, I'm happy with the sound when noise cancelling is not needed but they never fit me, so can only use them when sitting down

A family member has my old first-gen AirPods. They work, but battery life is odd. They'll be on a call, get the warning sound that the battery is about to die, check and shows 5% battery left, put them back into the case and suddenly in seconds the battery is being reported as 70% in each ear. There is no way it's charged from 5%-70% in a second or two. The 5% must be wrong.

I got the same problem on my old iPhones when they get down to around 70% battery health.

My mom's using my 1st gen AirPods with work from home, too. I got her a desk lamp that has built-in Apple Watch, AirPods and Qi dock/charger so it's easy for her to swap ears. To be safe, she swaps every hour so she doesn't get cut off in the middle of a call.

Me! I get about an hour of a talk time (a little annoying for back to back calls when WFH), and maybe 2 hours of continuous listening. The left dies a little earlier than the right.

They still work fine, so planning to run them into the ground until they're totally dead. Hoping they release an Airpods 3 before that happens. I have no interest in the Pro or Studio options.
