No worries. Yeah, developer release came first and then they just made it available to those with the public beta test profile a few hours later.

Hi all,
I have an apple watch series 4 (gps + cellular, version 5.1.1) and an iphone XS Max (64 gigabytes version 12.1).
And I have the following situation, just a couple of meters away from the iphone I see on the clock the icon of the iphone in red ( lost the connection), it is very strange, before I had a series 3 with iphone X and I did not face this problem, I moved many meters away in the office and in the house and the signal was not lost.
Otherthing, the pop up image to config ( new) my apple watch or my airpods only appears when i touch with the phone.
I contacted Apple support (chat) and did test on iphone and clock and also unpair and pair the clock with the iphone several times, I also reset the network connection on the Iphone, but the same problem continues.
Has someone else happened to you? some workaround?
Thank you!
thanks, same felling, but my big problem is i am based in Chile and apple said my only solution is send my phone to USA, so i will send to one friend i have in new yersey. At the apple store they change you phone immediately? or you have to wait some days?I also had the XS Max and the AW the same thing kept happening to me it would pair them disconnect did all the same things as you did also worked with apple same problem, nothing worked it was so frustrating so I returned the max as the AW worked fine on my other phone and now I have the XR no issue with pairing or disconnecting.
when this new version will be delivery to the common people like me?I’ve had no problems cellular or WiFi 5k on my XR. Comparable to my previous 7 in fringe areas for WiFi 5k and Bell LTE.
I returned 2 XS’s and one XS Max due to poor WiFi 5k performance in weak signal areas of my house.
Very happy with XR. And actually find the size of the XR in my hand is more comfortable to work with than the XS Max’s were. Battery life is much longer too!
when this new version will be delivered to the common people like me?Beta 2 is running great so far re: Verizon LTE. Will see how the next few days go.

Define "common". You can either visit a certain website and download a Developer profile for beta software or you can openly register yourself with https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/ and get on the public beta, both options will give you 12.1.1 beta 2 as soon as you can download it.
If by common you mean non beta then you'll probably be waiting about 2 or 3 more weeks for 12.1.1
I’ve posted several times in this thread. I have fantastic signal strength in Manhattan when out and about but if there are brief periods of no service (for example between subway stations, leaving an elevator on my way out a building) it takes a very long time to reconnect to LTE (and occasionally picks up LTE without the ability to transfer data). There was an improvement with 12.1 but 12.1.1b1 and now b2 have both improved that further.Any chance you could clarify your situation?
Are you on an XS, Max or XR?
Were you having problems prior to updating with LTE?
Was it the poor connection problem in low signal areas, slow speeds, wouldn't reconnect or something different?
Ta.
If I had these issues I'd return the phone and buy a new one to get another 14 day return period. Tell them the service is very poor and you think you have a bad one.
My only worry is that if you do too many returns to Apple for "no reason" that they could start refusing to accept the returns (happens to people who frequently buy an apple device to rent it for a few days and then return it).
Hi folks, some interesting news:
Yesterday was day 14 of my 14-day return limit, so I went to the Apple store and exchanged my XS, as I was still having terrible connection issues. The Apple employee who exchanged my phone didn't really question why I was bringing it back; he just made the exchange quite happily. When I got home afterwards, I began testing it, and sure enough, I had the same terrible connection issues, with the speeds even appearing worse. So this morning I tried something: I signed up for the beta program, and installed 12.1.1b2.
Oh my gosh is my phone behaving better. My download speeds have significantly increased. Using apps that stutter out with data connection issues (like Facebook, Reddit, etc.) hum along quite nicely. Upload speeds have increased too. Walking around my house, which would usually cause data connection issues, doesn't seem to be a thing now.
I want to caveat all of this by saying it's a beautiful, sunny day here in DC, with clear skies, and yesterday was grey, overcast, and dreary -- environmental factors might be in play. That said, I'll continue testing my connection over the next few days, and report back. Fingers-crossed.
iphone XS, AT&T, week 34 model
Sounds promising. Thanks for the update - keep us posted!
I really don't understand how/why Apple hasn't figured out how to make the iPhone cellular connectivity rock solid after 11 years of iPhones. The release of the XS/iOS 12 is not the first time Apple has had issues with cellular connectivity on their devices (i.e. iPhone 7 issues on Verizon 2 years ago when released where the phone would drop to "no service" frequently in a strong signal area). Seems like Apple is much more concerned about crap like emojis vs. getting the fundamentals right.
I just install the 12.1.1 beta 2, and did not resolve my problem, i guess my issue is more a hardware problem than softwareHi all,

It must be due to the new antenna design and the replacement of Qualcomm.
There are multiple problems on the XS phones that is why Apple is having trouble fixing them. Samsclub has a $300 giftcard and Walmart has a $400 one with purchase of new Iphone in the next couple of weeks so I might give it another shot . I just wish more people would install the beta and do some testing to see if it's a waste of time to give it another shot .
It would be kind of nice to be able to install IOS 11 on these phones cause I have noticed 12 has caused what seems to be more connection issues on my Iphone 7 that didn't exist when on IOS 11.

If it is a software issue then why are some of the XS phones working fine in low signal conditions with no problems? If it is a software band switching problem, then why do some folks not see the problem? Could it be that the bands that are having problems are not deployed in areas where folks are reporting good results?Right or wrong, I'm confident that it's software. Aside from the handful of people who could truly have a defective phone of course - there are always some defective devices.
The PC Mag test (link below) shows that the XS is more than capable. What needs to be worked out is the software algorithms so that the phone is always making the best choice of tower/band and doing it aggressively enough (in a timely manner) so that the user experience doesn't suffer.
If the antenna/modem were not capable, the XS would not have fared as well as it did in this test. Just like the iPhone 7 which would drop to "no service" in a strong signal area with Verizon when the iP7 was released. Apple fixed this with software. The issue wasn't the lack of cellular service or a hardware flaw - it was the phone's inability to switch towers/bands gracefully and not lose the signal altogether in the process. That is software - not a hardware limitation. I largely view the XS issues *most* people are experiencing as the same type of issue.
