iOS 12.0.1 seems to have been released. Looks like some modem updates and carrier updates too.

So far:
  1. Yellow screen tint
  2. PWM screen flicker (same as X)
  3. Marginal reception
Links to these issues can be found on this forum.
Once all the marketing hype and numerous worthless fake reviews are disregarded, one is left with a sense of wonder: is iPhone actually crap and we're all getting blindsided by the distortion field?

1) I experienced the yellow until I turned off True Tone. Is it possible people have True Tome still on?

None of us on this board are qualified to make this determination.

From reading your posts, you’ve already determined that a full recall is needed.

From the Senior Rep I am working with it really doesn't sound good . This is a major issue lets see what 12.01 does when it drops later today. My expectations are very low and they are getting tons of calls about this subject.

I remember a similar issue not with the 4, but a later model with similar LTE issues. We had to turn off cell network search. Settings>Location services>System services>Cell network search. That stopped the phone from bouncing back and forth from weaker towers

That’s weird. My rep claimed he hasn’t heard anything and didn’t see any service notes regarding it. Could my rep have been lying to cover?

I did not know this setting existed, thank you. I have turned it off and will report back with results later today.

I got my 512gb X Max unlocked version in Southern / Central Virginia yesterday while on a quick vacation. The phone had some problems with signals, kept dropping randomly, slow, etc. I restarted and now that I'm home in New Jersey, I'm getting insanely fast speeds on Verizon LTE, like 120mbs down.. yet my relatively quick office wifi is stuck around 27-34mbs down. My note 9 is pulling 60+, my surface pro 90+

I am having this same problem. iPhone Xs Max on AT&T in NYC.

After getting my phone on launch day, I have cripplingly slow LTE speeds regardless of my location. Averaging ~1-3mbs as measured via Ookla Speedtest. In many instances my phone does not connect to LTE but goes down to 4G connection. Wifi speeds are terrible as well where I average ~10mbs at home vs my typical ~100mbs on my previous iPhone 7+ and other devices.

I am seeing people post similar issues. I have tried a network reset and have seen no improvements. I am also running the latest AT&T carrier v33.2.

Actually forgot my wifi network and then signed back in, and it more than doubled my speed.

My LTE is pulling in excess of 140mbs down now in central NJ with 5 bars, in an area I used to get 2 in.. but again when I was in Virginia the day I got the phone, it was struggling at times, I think it is having problems in areas with marginal coverage

I have the same issues with wifi and LTE service. Last week when I had my 8plus I was fine pulling in great cell and wifi at a theater where i directed a play...this past weekend with my new phone, no service on cell at all and wifi was crippingly slow.

I turned off cell network search per instructions in my post above. My LTE speeds over the weekend during the day were at best 30 to 40 Mbps, with cell network search off, I'm back to 80 to 90 Mbps. May have nothing to do with it, but worth a try.

I always keep that setting off and still had problems with Verizon and AT&T
