And another. I'm getting so sick of Apple. Once everything used to just work and now everything is a mess. Nothing ever goes smooth.

I tried the install. It asked me to connect to iTunes, i did, it said there was an error and had to restore. It then said it can't even do that, and it never get's past the white screen.

Basically is. Disappointing experience so far.

Basically its not: A bricked phone means one thing: your phone won't turn on in any way, shape or form, and there's nothing you can do to fix it. It is, for all intents and purposes, as useful as a brick. A phone stuck in a boot loop is not bricked, nor is a phone that boots straight into recovery mode.

Well, you are recovering it seems, so it's alive. But certainly does sound disappointing.

It's certainly alive, but it makes me wonder about those without iTunes to fall back to? I haven't researched online, but from the "plug into iTunes" screen, they're probably being left in the dark right now, since it seems to be reaching a decently large number of users.

So for many people, this can be seen as the equivalent of a "bricked" device since there's no clear way to exit recovery mode without a computer. And Apple has touted iOS as a "computer-free" device. Heck they're even pushing you to replace your computer with an iPad.

I have the same problem with my iPad Pro. I am connected to iTunes downloading the update. Hopefully it goes well.

So for many people, this can be seen as the equivalent of a "bricked" device. Terrible stylistic properties by the way.

I didnt format it. However, if it is bricked, there is NOTHING you can do about it. Not plugging it in to restore. No DFU. Nothing. Therefore, the phone is not bricked.

Itunes fixes the DFU issue with no need to restore a backup. A little hassle but at least its fixed.

Ok, so it did "restore" through iTunes and all my apps and info are still there. Looks like it just did a re-install...

UPDATE: My iPhone 6s came back up with iOS 10 after plugging it into iTunes and updating. I used the version of iTunes that came out today. Looks like this issue is limited to A9 devices such as 6s and iPad Pro. The solution is using iTunes that is up to date.

Same here, just starting the process of installing iTunes now, hope it works because it's crippled my iPhone 6S Plus. With all the beta testing of this you would think they could have something like this worked out. Quickly losing faith in Apple's ability to handle simple things.
