Same issue with my iPad Pro 12.9. Had to connect to iTunes on my Mac. Will report back about my iPhone 6+

EDIT: iPad came back to life through iTunes. My iPhone 6+ had no issues at all with OTA.

UPDATE: My iPhone 6s came back up with iOS 10 after plugging it into iTunes and updating. I used the version of iTunes that came out today. Looks like this issue is limited to A9 devices such as 6s and iPad Pro. The solution is using iTunes that is up to date.
I hope so...trying to update IP6+ at work...if it DFU's on me, I'll have to wait until I get home to access iTunes.

Make sure you guys are using the newest version of iTunes. I am not updating any other A9 devices in my house as of now.

Me too. P*#%ed! Bad form Apple!!

Update: sorted. Took 2 hours though. Running 10.1. Nice looking

Yes. Im a first time ios user tho. Its installing a 2.47GB file through itunes now, which takes 1 hour. Is this good? Or should i Disconnect my iphone from my pc?

Someone pls?

Can't even download iTunes, which I HAVE to do in order to update my iPad Pro to iOS 10 because the old version wants to reinstall 9.3.5.

I click on "check for updates" within iTunes, it tells me I have an update available, I tell it to download and install the update, and then it proceeds to do absolutely NOTHING.

Apple has a serious mess on their hands.

Try to update before restoring once you connect to iTunes to try to avoid losing your personal data. That is if iTunes gives you the update option. This is mostly targeted at people who haven't backed their devices up. If the update route doesn't work then you have to restore. If it's not giving you iOS 10 as the latest update you need to update iTunes before hand.

Same here, just starting the process of installing iTunes now, hope it works because it's crippled my iPhone 6S Plus. With all the beta testing of this you would think they could have something like this worked out. Quickly losing faith in Apple's ability to handle simple things.

only few models and beta program, still messed up...

i hope the updating process works - i have lot of stuff on my phone which i dont want to loose...

OK i know why some of u are getting 9.3.5 from iTunes its because iTunes 12.5 won't install iOS 10.0.1

1.) update iTunes first to 12.5.1 and then connect to iTunes and it'll pull down iOS 10.0.1

neither couldnt i... but after force closing itunes (win version ending the task) few times i got it to download the itunes. so... try few times to hit the update.

I'm having the same issue. Attempting to restore via iTunes now. I will post again once I have an update. First time iOS update problem for me. Between this and the lackluster iPhone 7 update, it's been a fun couple of weeks with Apple :)

Even with public betas, still things can go so terribly wrong.
Funnily, a friend and I were talking about this during the morning. I said something like "iOS 10 going to break everything?". He said, "nah, they've tested this thing in the wild enough, it was just one thing MacRumors had an article on..."

Sigh.

Am i actually installing ios 10 now? Or some other garbage?
I am installing iOS 9.somethingorother according to iTunes. So yes, some other garbage.

Downloaded the latest iTunes and plugged the iPhone in and it prompted me to update the iPhone and I said yes, now just sitting on this screen and waiting with no other indicators.
