Yeah. But I want it to run Android. I have a Pro 3. Also, I have grown to dislike fans.

Hate to say it, but there is no android device that can compete with the iPad Pro :(. Windows, for sure, but not android. And tbh, Android Tablets have slacked big time compared to Apple. There are a ton of Apps not optimized for the tablets in the play store where as Apple has a ton. As an Android Developer, I can tell you it's not worth building outside of games because of how much coding is involved to add tablets. Apple made it a ton easier.

Apple has a great hold on the tablet market.

The stats say otherwise.

I have no problems with it on my 6P. How is it running like garbage? (i.e. What is it doing or not doing?)
When I tap on the icon it takes a few seconds for the app to launch and a few more for the app to draw. When I navigate around the app the animations are choppy and pages load slowly. This seems to be the only app I see noticeable lag in on my 5X.

I use a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus as my daily right now (have an iPhone 6S Plus as well). I use it because it is a better device for my needs (vacation pics, front and rear camera) and Samsung Pay is AWESOME, but I just can't help but be appalled at just truly how terrible the software is when comparing it to iOS in many ways.

I'm not even going into Samsung Software because we all know most of it is terrible. Thankfully, one can disable all or most Samsung software and simply use a Material Design theme on top of TouchWiz.

So Google, when are you going to stop being terrible at:

1) Battery life! I can disable every thing from location services, to android device manager, debloat every possible thing, and my iPhone 6S Plus gets 2x days of straight usage, possibly 2 weeks of idle if I left it there. My S6 Edge + gets about 3 days of idle, or maybe 5 hours of screen usage on it.

2) Music! Don't even get me started. Google Play Music is still a beta service. Duplicate tracks, replaced explicit tracks, app not refreshing, taking days to update from changes to online, any changes to playlists not updating for ages. Poor performance in App. Horrible interface. I'm now resorted to using Shuttle + iSyncr. GPM is the epitome of horrible Google coding and engineering. Perpetually stuck in beta software state.

3) Maps! How does Google Maps performance worse in rendering and framerate on Android than iOS? Shameful

4) Apps! Generally, the big name apps are OK. But when looking at most of the equivalent apps on my iOS device, they are almost always behind in features or performance. Google Apps actually perform worse as well, Chrome for example is never consistent in scrolling acceleration and rendering performance. It works better on iOS (probably because Chrome uses Safari's rendering in iOS).

Some things to wish for from Google but will likely never happen:

- iMessage competitor. Just make Hangouts integrate with Google Account, actually work just like iMessage.

- Integrate Hangouts like FaceTime does with Google Account.

Here's to a better Google experience in 2016. Google, please hire some legit software engineers. Your stuff is so half baked compared to Apple, when you're supposed to be a purely software and services company.
If it's awful, you are doing something wrong or you have a bad phone... it's that simple.

I use a few top of the line Android phones concurrently with my iPhone 6 Plus and my Android experience is excellent :D

Try clearing the apps cache, that might help.

@MRU do you subscribe to Google Music? And if so, do you like it better than Spotify?

I also notice that YouTube Red comes with Google Music subscription, not bad.

I would delete the app and app cache and re-install it. That's definitely not right, maybe some issue with its cache (corrupt data) causing it to do so.

Yeah I have both subscriptions. I get Spotify as part of my carrier contract but I just let someone else in the house use it.

I hate spotify's dark aesthetic and it's apps to be honest.

I use Google Music myself and I find it great. It allows you to have 10 devices active however you can only de-authorise 4 per year. Which if you go through phones like I do (16 last year) you soon run into deactivation troubles, however I contacted Google and explained I go through lots of phones, that I was also a community expert at Vodafone and they left it to their team, who then contacted me a few days later and actually were able to remove the deactivation limit for me, so I now never have an issue regardless.

That was great service and makes it a no brained service for me, plus I'm Grandfathered into the earlier price plan too, so bonus :) :)

YouTube Key was included here until they changed it to YouTube Red, now I still have background playback and downloads for music videos but not for other content until it re-launches YouTube red here.

I cannot delete Google music from my phone but I cleared the cache. It seems to startup faster now but navigating the app still send to load slowly.

I probably will upgrade to a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge or LG G5 later in the year even though I feel I don't really need to. The iPhone 7 and HTC One M10 could be in the mix but still a longshot. But my early 2016 appetizer is that Xiaomi Redmi 3. I love the size, specs, and price. You can go far getting flagship specs from 2.5-3 years ago for under $110 bucks nowadays. We now have 2013-2014 flagship specs and same size for under $200. That Huawei for $200 looks good too.

I'm starting to feel disgruntled with my LG G3 Beat because the RAM is only 1 GB and it lags because of it and LG skin. It also doesn't play some videos right. I had to use MXPlayer to correct some audio problems. But everything else other than lag is excellent. Better than my M7 for a lower budget Snapdragon 400.The Xiaomi Mi 3 has always been pretty good to me with the hiccups and glitches coming from the MIUI 5 era of 2014. I dropped it a second time last month from the table with no case. Surprisingly no dents and flaws at all.

But 2016 announcements looks so tempting because how cheap they are although nowadays everyone have a very nice phone whether Samsung, Apple, or whatever. And even the backups are nicer than the primaries from 2-3 years ago! There really isn't bad "hardware" coming out. That's my choice. Xiaomi Redmi 3 for cheap. Maybe Samsung or LG for the primary later on.

I would not mind multi-window on my 6 Plus that's for sure. Not sure how useful it would be on the 4.7inch 6 though.

It probably wouldn't be worth it on a 4.7 inch.

I know this may be controversial but ...

To be honest I don't think it's worth it on a phone regardless of size, especially if either of the split screens are going to be interacted with via the Keyboard which essentially when in use covers up over a third of the whole screen making splitting it utterly redundant for me.

I know others use it & enjoy doing so, but for me it's the most inane and over-rated feature on mobile phones, and same for opening apps in smaller pop out windows. Could never see the point personally, for me there's more redundancy than functionality involved.

But it's subjective and I know others want and do use it, but personally on mobile phones it's just something I can't see the point of at all, especially as I say when you factor in interaction with either window via keyboard.

I have however no objection to the feature being offered, but I likewise would have no issue with a OEM like Samsung removing it either.

My sentiments as well. I never used the feature on my Note and wouldn't use it on my 6s+ either. I know others here have praised it's inclusion on Note phones and do use it--I certainly don't begrudge it as an option if its inclusion doesn't cost any overhead to smooth phone performance. Now on a tablet, I love it--use it all the time (using it right ) on my iPP. In fact, I'd love it if Apple could add a third panel (split one side in half as well).

Its great on my iPad thats for sure. I can see it being useful on the 6 Plus in landscape mode only.

I just want Android to get windowing right on Tablets. It's blatantly obvious the Pixel C was designed for this as the screen is the same ratio when cut in half.

Sure sure, more apologists. Here's a typical work day with the phone. 1 hr of Bluetooth music, 50 minutes screen on, two 2 pics, almost didn't use it at all. 67% battery in the afternoon. Horrible power management. My iPhone 6 Plus would be at 85% on a similar day.

Don't come here, call us names, tell us our phones are awful, and post this nonsense. Android is fantastic and lasts a whole day. For 99.9% of the world, that's enough.

Come back when your phone can have A WIDGET on its home screen.

Because Quick Charging is a thinly veiled band-aid for horrible battery life. My S6 Edge Plus gets 1/2 to 1/3 of my 6S Plus, both SCREEN ON TIME and Standby time.
[doublepost=1452900714][/doublepost]

- Doesn't need it
- No one uses multi window on a phone
- Plenty of app to app file sharing. It's called "Open In"
- I don't even use Widgets on my S6E+, except for the stock clock/weather one on the main screen.
- When I first bought an S6 Edge in the summer, I had to make sure to NOT use Fast Charging because it overheated many devices and burned out their accelerometer/gyroscope sensors.

LOL, at you labelling fast charge a band aid, my Note 4 has great battery life, so its no band aid for it, what it is is in the name, and it does it well even from a PowerBank.

- It does need it.
-I use it.
-Thats not app to app sharing.
-I do, so do you, you use the weather widget
-I've been using Fast Charge in my Note 4 since launch, in Oct 2014, no issue here.

.....bye.

Known issue thus far, but the January Security Patch has broken Doze a bit (the biggest battery saver for Android M phones).
